It’s a little café close to the US/Canadian border. Walls are decorated with art work of the coastal landscape. Dining area is not big but fits a good amount of chairs and tables. There’s also a small corner with cushioned chairs in front of an electric fireplace. They have a shelf with books and board games patrons are welcome to read and use. We asked the lady at the counter about the menu and the pastries they offer. She was quite nice. But after mentioning that we have a coupon, her demeanour flipped 180 degrees. She forgot all about the smiles and warm tones in her voice. We don’t understand why she would frown upon customers who have coupons. It is because of that promo that we were able to find their place, give it a try and return, should we fancy their food and service. We ordered our food from a younger lady. We asked for a bowl of soup, french dip sandwich and mocha milkshake. The girl said that they do not serve milkshakes. We told her it says on the menu they do. She replied that she doesn’t even know why it’s up on the menu. No apologies there. The sandwich was totally bland and pale. There was no flavour from the meat, the dip was adequately seasoned though. The bread slices were thick on one end and very thin on the other. For almost $ 10, I would expect more meat slices but the one we got did not even completely cover the entire surface of the bread. The soup, which was a clam chowder, came in a small bowl, with potatoes, some carrots and a few clams bits. Not the best clam chowder I had, but it was just ok. Menu says it comes with a freshly baked bun, which never arrived. Before we left we got a pumpkin brownie and a seaside bar. The brownie was bitter sweet which was delightful. Not that moist but my wife and I both liked it. The bar was also good. Not too sweet, with the right amount of nuts. If it were not for these two pastries, I would have given this review zero stars. Before we went here my wife read the reviews on Unilocal. We were absolutely disappointed. Service(not to mention crew attitude) and hot food quality in this place definitely needs to be improved.

We stopped in on a Saturday late morning for an early lunch after visiting our boat in the Blaine marina. On the special board was a great sounding hash and eggs offering. When I tried to order it the chef(and owner?) called out from the stove that it was no longer available but that he had two new specials. He came over and took the time to describe then for us. My wife and I liked the sound of them so we ordered one of each! Mine was a corned beef and vegetables in gravy over some puff pastry. Nicely seasoned and very tasty. My wife had a popover with stewed beef and vegetables which was even better than my selection. We didn’t try the baked goods on this trip but we will definitely return in the future to do so. Funky, casual vibe, just like Blaine!

Stoppes in for a quick breakfast on our girls trip down to lynnwood. We had to pick up some stuff from 5D packages and we got a pretty early start so wanted to satisfy the hanger before we hit the road. It’s a cosy little bakery/café and they are part of the Fivestars points program. I had an egg breakfast sandwich-they fan out of sausage but that was ok. Also ordered an oatmeal for the drive down and it was really good. Not too sweet and good consistency. I couldn’t stop eyeing the pastries they looked really good! We sat and ate our breakfast and then left. The crowd there is definitely more«mature» lol and it seemed like they were mostly locals and regulars. Clean, quick, homestyle food i would totally stop here again for breakfast next time around

It sounds harsh considering that I didn’t try the food(was about to based on Unilocal) but when I peeped through the screen door, and saw one of the staff play with a customer’s dog, yup, I made a beeline out of there. Their free wifi won’t lure me back. Just the thought of hairs, food, etc. up in the air… and don’t get me wrong, I love pets, not just when I’m eating haha. Located by the parcel pickup stores.

Was stoked to try this after browsing the reviews, however, wasn’t as tasty as advertised. I had the daily special, a pork tenderloin and chutney sandwich. I have a massive intolerance of red onion, and out came a very gamey(over-re-heated) sliced pork sandwich with red onion and sauce. I took a few bites, after all, the bread was good. Luckily I ordered a slice of blueberry rhubarb pie, which was perfect. Baked goods are my weakness… they have that down pact!

They serve a variety of sweet and savory options here. The service has been friendly each time that I have visited. The menu is a bit hard to read because it’s written in small print and somewhat scrunched together. Be sure to check out the lunch specials!

We were in Blaine thinking we were going to another restaurant, and being very hungry, literally stumbled upon the Seaside Bakery & Café. The interior is nice and homey, and the menu had a great selection-the chicken pot pie was delish as was the turkey burger and slaw, and the house salad– everything tasted very fresh and home– which it is! And yes, the staff was friendly and prompt as well. I would recommend this café/restaurant/bakery if you are in Blaine.

Fresh. Homemade. Delicious & friendly. Feels like home. Went because of the positive Unilocal reviews. Will return again! :-)

We had breakfast twice and enjoyed everything we have tried so far. That included oatmeal,(Comes with brown sugar, raisins, walnuts and choice of milk which I ordered soy). I snagged a piece of my husband’s toast and it was delicious. A breakfast casserole was not what I expected but was a light scrambled eggs with veggies and melted cheese on top and tasted like farm fresh eggs. Others in our party enjoyed scrambled eggs with sausage and toast and a new item they were trying that was a breakfast sandwich on apple bread. For bakery items we tried a scone, cinnamon roll, pear pie(pears grown by the owner), coconut cream pie and a bar that I can’t pronounce. All was fresh and delicious. I understand everything is baked fresh that morning and sold out by the time they close at 3 or 4 on Sat. We wanted to come back for lunch but couldn’t fit it in our short stay as they are closed Sunday and Monday. Wish I had thought to take pictures but each plate comes with a slice of tomato and fresh spinish as a garnish — also an nice light edible.

This place deserves another great review. Driven past here so many times but am always hesitant to try out new places. Food is great, homemade and fresh, very hospitable staff and good prices. Def choose this over Subway down the street.

I love this place! It’s an honest, home-made bakery right out of simpler times. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty. The baked goods are fantastic. The counter service is friendly and the food comes fast. After spending an hour waiting to cross the border this is just what we needed to relax and refuel before driving south. Be warned, there is nothing fancy about the Seaside Bakery. But if you want wholesome, fresh food at a good price, this is for you. The location is great too. Right off the highway immediately after the border crossing at Blaine. Plus the onramp is only a block away for when you want to get back on the road.
