I’ve been to the Tavern at least five times and every time it is nothing short of fantastic! The food is delicious, the wait staff is friendly and always willing to make conversation with customers.

Good food. Family really enjoyed the«build your own» menus for the burgers, salads and pizza. Waffle fries had to be fresh cut — delicious! Oh, and the cheese curds were excellent. While it was a busy restaurant, it was quite easy to hear my table mates. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. My only, very mild, complaint is that after the«first bite» check-in, we didn’t see another server until we were almost done with our meal.

We eat here once a month on average and are never disappointed. I usually always get a build your own burger. The burgers are big with lots of toppings, the fries are delicious. We are also members of their rewards club, so we get discounts on beer and our tab every time we go. I also recommend the Sunday brunch, decent selection, good food. The atmosphere here is cozy as well, making it easy to relax and enjoy your time out. May I also recommend the dessert fondue– yum!

They charged me almost $ 3 for water from the soda machine. The fish tacos were soggy and strange-tasting from heaps of Mandarin oranges. Not a pleasant lunch.

This is the third and last time I will give this place a chance. It gets worse each time. Last night we arrived at 6:10 pm and were told the wait was 20 minutes. There were a few others waiting but we also counted five empty booths so no big deal. After 25 minutes we asked about the wait and were told it would be about 20 more minutes. When asked about the booths that were still empty since we arrived the hostess said they were not ready yet. Really? We were seated at 7:05, ordered 2 beers, and waited. Our waitress brought first a diet Mountain Dew, then a regular Mountain Dew, then 2 waters. All were incorrect. We finally got our 2 beers at 7:30 and though we ordered another round they never came. Ever. One of our food orders was also incorrect, then another came but we were already done. The mayo requested came just before the check. Honestly, the food was pretty good but by then none of us cared because the experience had been so frustrating. It’s hard to understand how so many mistakes can be made without a manager intervening, but that never happened. We saw two other groups walk out annoyed and there were probably more. We will not be back.

This is our go-to restaurant in Blaine, near our house. Surprisingly hard to find good food/service besides the usual fast food options in the N Metro. Regardless The Tavern has a expansive menu and the service has always been excellent. Good options from wood fired pizza, build your own burger and really good salads. The Cajun Chicken Fettuccine is awesome and some of the other entrée selections i have tried are really good as well. Solid all the way around.

Great atmosphere! My friend and I shared Farmers Market flatbread pizza and Chocolate Fondu. Both really good and would get again. Will need to come back to try more items. Great service. Come at off times to beat the crazy crowd I’ve heard of…

Service and food always great! We have been here a handful of times, tried something new each time and have always been satisfied. They pour a healthy glass of wine :) The rosemary steak on the menu is to die for, as is the crab artichoke dip — amazing! The Build your own burger and bloody never disappoint. Food always tastes fresh and, in the off chance, that service is slow they always acknowledge it and apologize. Love the Tavern!

With the exception of the fact I had an enjoyable visit with my cousin, I would not recommend this restaurant. I chose to «build a salad«and ended up sending it back twice because they got the most basic of ingredients wrong. Management treated me like it was my fault and after sending the salad back the second time our waitress basically disappeared and treated us like we were pariahs. What she didn’t realize was that I still planned on tipping her because I didn’t believe it was her fault. Tip got smaller and smaller the more times she walked by without checking on us, inquiring about how we were doing, and just her attitude in general. I did tip because it was the right thing to do, but the wrong place for us to come for lunch.

Their fish fry was great tonight. It’s sad the place turned to 100% dogshit after I 5-starred them to death(heck, we walk here) then it went to one star. I’ll go to two stars but ending Thursday prime rib nights still hurts too. And 79 degrees inside tonight. But I’ll go to 2 stars now. Good work on matching, disposable soap dispensers that get DISPOSED of when empty and not refilled with generic dial in the foaming dispensers.

Another boring suburban place. Nothing great. We won’t go back — the sushi place next door has far better food and happy hour. This place loud and ridiculously slow. We’ve tried takeout and orders have been wrong both times. So I end up waiting for them to fix. Not worth waiting in line for.

I am conflicted about The Tavern Grill. On one hand, I love it and it’s a go to. On the other hand, the wait time is always so long that I always end up abandoning this place and going elsewhere. Let’s start with the latter. They don’t accept reservations, unless you have a larger party(the number 6 is sticking out in my mind, but don’t quote me on that). With that being said, if you try coming here on the weekend during peak hours, you can count on an hour and a half wait for a table. As a result, I often end up coming here first to hear the wait time and abandoning the place for other options in the area. Now to the good part. The location is pretty great– it’s in the retail district of Blaine. Because of this, it often ends up being a go-to place for my friends and I to meet up. It’s a little classier, so it makes us feel a little adult. The food is consistently good, and the price is very reasonable. Service is also fairly decent; nothing sticks out as being a bad experience. If I could actually get a table with a reasonable wait time, I would probably give it a four star. But all things considered, this place is just a-okay in my book.

We went at 2 p.m. on a Saturday thinking it would not be busy. The place was packed. Our service was great the food was excellent and we certainly will go back again. My husband had the build your own burger. Great prices for the amount of food you get. I had the shrimp Chef’s Choice pizza it which was excellent.

Absolutely addicted to this place. Every time I go I get the build-your-own burger or pizza! Their bourbon red sauce is amazing, I can’t get enough of it! They have a great selection of food and BYOs. I always try to go here when I am in the Blaine area!

Went for a late night dinner, the place was almost going to close but the waitress there took care of us very nicely. The staff was very friendly and cheerful. As it was closing time, we had to only choose among the appetizers, pizzas and desserts. We quickly ordered the buffalo chicken wings, BBQ boneless chicken wings, Buffalo chicken pizza, chicken littles and their signature dessert chocolate fondue. Both the chicken wings was amazing. The chicken littles are like small mini burgers or the sliders with nice slice of grilled chicken in it. They were good. The BBQ Chicken wings were one of the best, I absolutely loved them, I almost ate 9 pieces of them and wow trust me, they were really scrumptious. The pizza wasn’t so great, that was kind of a disappointment. It was covered with loads of mozzarella cheese. You just get the taste of cheese whenever you take a bite of it. Coming to their signature dessert, I am in love with it. It’s a lot of calories, lot of chocolate but wow. It was served with hot molten chocolate and marshmallows, banana, strawberry and crunches. We need to dip them in the chocolate and wait for it to melt in our mouth… Yummmyyyyyy! Overall I loved this place. I would definitely go there again if I get a chance. And I recommend this place. It’s huge, it has lot of options, great selections of beer as per my brother [ps: I don’t drink], great ambience, great service and absolutely a fantastic place to hangout with a group of friends Ambience: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Food: 4⁄5

Since moving to the suburbs, it’s been challenging to find good food that didn’t belong to some sort of chain restaurant… granted, living in the city was not much different. Someone I know raved about how wonderful The Tavern Grill was, so we stopped in. They have some unique features… like the build your own burger, or pizza, or something… basically, you write down your own order and hand it to the server. I should get at tip for that. So, I tried the pizza… and the kid at the table next to us summed it up best… «Oooooh Gross!» The quality of the pizza was a little less appealing then those $ 1.50 frozen pizza’s you can get from the grocery store, and it was cold to boot. They were busy, and certainly not well staffed for an event they were holding in there event room… and it was causing the rest of the place to be frantically under served. So I thought, maybe next time! So we went back… still disappointed, still terrible service. Funny thing is, they are busy all the time… but if you are interested in anything besides cheap bar food… better pick another place!

Visited this restaurant for lunch today with my co workers since it is close by and it came highly recommended. The location is very convenient. Right off of central and 109th! I like this some I do not know the area very well. First sight from walking into the restaurant was very nice. It looks like a more upscale restaurant with beautiful indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio for the summer! I went in looking for a salad, and ended up getting something else since the aromas in the building were very appetizing! For an appetizer we ordered the waffle fries which were crispy and season just right! I ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap, 2 co workers ordered the Baked Cheese Ravioli and another ordered a burger. All were absolutely delicious. Without a doubt cooked and put together to perfection. Dessert we shared the fondue which hit each of our sweet spots exactly as we wanted. Perfect size to share! I will recommend this place to all friends and family.

I work in the area of this restaurant. This is our main place for after work happy hours and business lunches. For happy hour — they can accommodate a big group if you call ahead. They’ll put a big long table together for you if you’ve got a lot of people. The prices on the happy hour appetizers and pizzas are really reasonable and taste better than standard bar food. I wouldn’t say it’s anything super inventive, but it is tasty and well prepared. Drinks are also very reasonably priced and they tolerate all the check splitting silliness that comes along with a big group. For business lunches, I like this place because there is something for everyone. The build your own salads and pizzas are good, as are most things on the menu. You can make things as healthy or as not healthy as you want and they are very willing to customize anything on the menu. It’s never very busy at lunch so a table is never a problem. Service is friendly and prompt. Recommended if you are in the area. I’ve also been the Edina location of this restaurant several times and my experiences there have been more mixed, not as consistently good as this location.
