I can’t say enough good things about this park. They reopened in 2011 and since, have constantly made the park even better. Pet friendly, Lions park has a about half a mile walking path that goes around the park. Along the half mile loop, is exercise equipment; such as balance beams, adult monkey bars, pull-up bars, and other equipment who’s name escapes me. Along the path are plenty of park benches, and lots of shade. It has two playgrounds, one for older kids and the other a more toddler safe playground. Baby swings are readily available, they have 6! Two regular swings, a tire swing, and a disabled swing. The park has a slope so it is wheelchair accessible. This park has a new free splash pad, a basketball court, 2 baseball fields, and a football field. They have a large electric pavilion, that you can rent for parties and other events for a low price, and a public restroom and water fountain.(Although, my pro tip here would be to NOTUSE these, as they are super disgusting.) This park also has a stage and shaded area for local immunity events the city puts on; such as bluegrass festival, monarch festival, concerts in the park, movies in the park, and more. Locals also utilize the stage and park: free boot camps, cheerleading, YIP(yoga in the park), all put on by members of the community free of charge. This park has several small butterfly gardens, and lots and lots of trees! Which is one of the things I appreciate the most of this park. Parking is plenty, and they even have bike racks. This park is perfect for any family with kids that want to have playdates, as there are always kids playing here. Be sure to add or I suppose«like» the CITYOFBLANCHARD, to find out and follow all the free events they put on. Overall, this park is very quaint, and a beautiful little gem in this very small but close town.
