Got seated right away at 8:15, waited for drinks, still no food at 10:00pm, wife still wanted her steak so we had to take home our $ 150.00 dinner in foam boxes. Owners were there but not sure if they noticed a whole dining room full of patrons without food.

Great food, menu but the whole family froze, even after the manager Doug said he’d turn off the AC, we never felt the cold breeze coming from the vent get any warmer. Michigan winters are rough, spring finally arrived and we have to endure a freezing diner. Meal ruined.

I have no complaints about the quality of their food, and the serving sizes are definitely sharable. Unfortunately, the service here is less than desirable. The past two times my family and I have dined here our servers have disappeared. I do not plan on coming back to this location.

Um what happened to the spot I grew up on going to that serves that fire Italian. I just called up and ordered carry out from Andiamo’s. I come home to the most foul colored, soggy calamari on planet Earth. I’m disgusted, this food smells worse then my niece’s diaper. Thanks for the disappointment. Most restaurant’s would have had it properly aired. Honestly it is just very odd looking. I will say the pasta came out fine and the desserts supposedly made in an Andiamo house at another location fortunately did not disappoint. The palomino sauce in the gnocchi reminded me as if I was at ‘Passta Fagoli’ circa 2003. Food was not up to par for a place to be considered fine dining. I would spend some more money and enjoy a meal or carry out from Bacco from now on.

Went in for a Sunday meal and had the best experience! Alexandria was our server and was beyond fantastic. We ordered the surf and turf from their special menu and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Due to a recent surgery I am only able to eat a few ounces of food at a time and am a bit self conscience out eating out. Servers won’t take your word that everything was«good» or «fine» when you leave 90% of your meal on your plate and will continue to question you. Alexandria never pushed it. Instead she immediately asked if I wanted a to go container and did I want my dessert at the table or wrapped. Her insight was truly appreciated. The food was fantastic. The filet melted in your mouth and was cooked as ordered, medium rare. The lobster was tender and buttery and the asparagus had a slight crunch and weren’t mushy. We will be back!

This place is desperately in need of a update in décor. And the food, was disgusting. I have been to other locations an loved my meal, but I would never return to this spot. Do a reno and hire a new chef, then maybe I’ll consider trying again.

Was here with a party of 6 Saturday night for my wife’s birthday. Waitress(Trisha, I believe) was rude and unprofessional. I asked her a simple question about a wine, she didn’t answer it, instead giving a smart-ass response that was completely uncalled for. Brought salads, didn’t offer anybody ground pepper. Took forever to get more bread, and when it was brought, there weren’t any breadsticks, which is what everybody was eating. Entrees were on the slow side coming out, which would not have been a problem, except said waitress gave zero updates and/or information. Everyone left feeling disappointed and with a bitter taste, considering this is where we had the rehearsal dinner for our wedding and it couldn’t have been better. Just goes to show how important good services is.

Just good italian food, period. I could just eat appetizers. We went for a work function with about 15 of us, and the service was great. We started with the sausage and peppers, the beef tips, and the calamari… they were all demolished. I eat gluten free and had no problem here. Lots of great protein and salads to choose from and they also have gluten free pasta. Great service too! With several«hipper» restaurants popping up in the same area, I still think Andiamo’s is a notch above.

Definately over priced. Its one of those Italian restaurants that an Italian would never eat at.

You can’t go wrong with Andiamo, they have a great reputation and you always know what to expect. I have to be honest, I used to work at the Rochester location about 10 years ago and this was the first time I’ve returned.(now live in California) Our server Jennifer was right on par all night and took special care of my Mom who has a deathly allergy to nuts and made her feel comfortable. The food was great, atmosphere perfect, and just a great place for a dinner out. Lisa the manager was even helping with bussing/setting tables so guests waiting for a table could be seated quicker. Everyone was pitching in to make sure all the guests were taken care of. As someone that is now an executive in a large hotel company, I was impressed and highly recommend Andiamo for your next night out. Good job everyone :)

We had eaten at Andiamo many years ago so when we received a gift certificate recently, we were ready to eat there again. We have a couple of other Italian restaurants that are closer so we go there. I ordered Sea Scallops and my wife ordered a Seafood Pasta Combo. The service was excellent and we were impressed how they seemed sincere about us being pleased with everything we ordered. Our waiter mentioned he had eaten everything on the menu so he could answer any questions we might have. He recommended medium rare on the scallops and they were done perfectly, seared and tender. Prices of some selections are a little high but good values are also available on the menu including fresh pastas made on site that can be paired with choice of sauces and meats or seafood. A very pleasant visit, we will likely be back.

The Bloomfield Hills location had good service and accommodations for a group of 20+ people. The food is pretty average with limited selection of Italian foods. The menu is focused on pasta and fish but there are no wild caught fish on the menu; as a result they serve farm raised fish which don’t have a diverse natural diet, resulting in lower flavor and more toxins. There are no micro brews available to drink and the menu has been recently revised to remove ravioli which seems strange for an italian restaurant. I love freshly made ravioli and was disappointed not to be able to get some here. I don’t see panini or similar sandwiches on the menu either. The arrabbiata sauce was not spicy at all; it was more like a marinara. The homemade noodles taste like something you could buy dried at the supermarket and the bread does not taste like it was baked in house. I have also been to the location on the riverfront before the menu changed and it was not any better. Particularly sad there was an appetizer with Italian meats, cheeses, and olives. The olives were the fake black olives made by dying green olives black like those sold in cans in grocery stores instead of the tasty green, kalamata or other olives I expect on a platter. The cheeses were just chunks of something like the romano they would put on a salad. And I was reminded that I don’t like mortadella…

The setting is absolutely perfect in this restaurant. Perfect enough to give this restaurant 3 stars. The problem I had with this restaurant was the service. The lack of communication between staff was incredibly disappointing. One member of the staff approached our table and ask if we were done with our soup and salad, We said we were still working on it but thank you. He still went ahead and removed our plates from the table, I was in absolute shock. Even if someone in the service industry doesn’t have the best hearing, they should be able to read the body language of their customer at the very least. Our wine was poured into our glasses from measuring cups. Fine procedure, the last«high end» restaurant I went to poured my wine from the bottle. I ordered the half chicken and it was very tasty just extremely salty and trust me you will notice how salty it is. I only had a meal here because of a gift card I was given. It wasn’t a terrible experience, just not the experience one would expect dining at a «high end» restaurant.

I can’t comment on the atmosphere as I got carry out, but I will say that it was ready fairly quickly with no confusion. We got the Grab n Go meal for four #3 of pasta Bolognese, wedding soup, salad, bread, and we grabbed a bottle of wine as well. This is labeled as food for four, and with the exception of the soup portion I would say it was more so food for 6 – 8. The salad had lots of crisp mixed green, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas, etc and had a scrumptious parmesan dressing to go with it. The wedding soup was flavorful without being too greasy or salty as many versions are. The pasta was flavorful and smothered in good thick tomato sauce with giant meatballs, but was a touch overdone to my taste. I typically prefer things slightly al dente. The bread that came with it was warm and full of different seeds and grains. Very tasty and already sliced for you. All in all everything was enjoyable and I didn’t feel like it was laden with lots of oil or fats as many Italian foods can be. I think I’d do something like this again if I didn’t have time to cook it myself.

Where to begin with this disappointing meal. I have been a semi satisfied customer of Andiamos for almost 15 years. I have dined in several locations including, Detroit, St. Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe, and Royal Oak. Now I can unfortunately add Bloomfield Hills to that list as well. My fiancé and I have noticed a slow decline in quality of food and service at different locations over the last few years, but this was by far our worst experience to date. We had a reservation for 9 p.m. this evening. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. This was the last time an employee would even acknowledge us for another 15 – 20 minutes. Which, we found strange because the restaurant wasn’t what I would really call«busy». We took this time to admire the nice renovations they did last year while this location was converted to an «Andiamos Italian Steak House» a name which it no longer carries. Finally our waitress noticed we had not yet been served and proceeded to take our drink order. When she returned we were already prepared with our choices. Both my fiancé and I were in a mood for steak so we went with our standard, which is the Filet Mignon. I like my steaks to be prepared medium rare and my fiancé likes her’s medium. Along with our meals we had the pasta e fagioli, house salad, and complementary dish of pasta. Everything seemed to be pretty on par with a typical Andiamos dining experience, slow service, average salad, and oddly the soup seemed to be made different at this location. The best part of our entire meal was the small side plate of pasta. After an hour our entrees finally arrived. My steak had a nice caramelization and crust on the outside. It was served with 3 fingerling potatoes, crispy fried onions, sautéed mushrooms, and house vegetables. I knew just by poking my steak with my fork that is was going to be underdone. Sure enough my fiancé and I cut into our steaks and both were not cooked correctly. Her’s was medium rare and mine was black and blue. Without exaggerating it was beyond rare, and hardly warm internally. So we sent the steaks back and waited about 10 minutes before they came back. This time our plates didn’t even look like the same meals. All of the vegetables on my plate were gone except for 1 piece of carrot, 1 fingering potato, and 1 grilled pepper. Instead my entire plate was cover in about 2 cups worth of mushrooms, and my fiances plate was the exact same experience. Her steak was cooked a little better and was fine for her, but mine was still returned to me rare. There were a few pieces which were closer to medium rare, but for the most part it was still undercooked. At this point I was frustrated and ate what I could and tried not to waste too much of this $ 40 undercooked steak, and since my fiances was fine I didn’t make a scene. The manager asked how things were and I told her that while mine was«slightly» more done it was still unacceptable and that is why I left a large chunk uneaten. She agreed that it was still rare and said she would talk to the cook because normally they cook a thousand steaks a week and never have any problems. This concluded our meal. We received our bill without so much as an acknowledgment or apology from he staff and that was it. Our meal totaled $ 100 for two undercooked steaks, 8 pounds of mushrooms, and 1 carrot. It is a complete joke. We will no longer be visiting any Andiamos locations, period. Also, many of the departments at my work go to Andiamos in Detroit for various parties and I will be advising people against that this coming year. Overall I am completely dissatisfied. So unless you are interested in getting some bread, salad, delicious pasta, and a terrible steak, I advise you to visit another restaurant who knows how to cook a proper steak. Roast, Ruth’s Chris, Capital Grille, or Mortons.

My husband and I came to this Andiamo’s to celebrate my birthday. I have a Mille Grazie card and receive a free entrée for my birthday each year. I normally go the Detroit River Front location, which I love, but we decided not to drive downtown in the rain. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table by a nice hostess. My husband requested a booth and we were quickly moved. Our server didn’t come to the table for about 5 minutes. We kept seeing different wait staff walk past us, but they each had a couple tables in our area that they tended to. A server walked up and asked if he could get us something to drink. We gave him our drink order, then he disappeared for another 10 minutes. The manager, after seeing me vigorously searching for our waiter, came up and asked if we had been waited on. I said yes, but it had been a while since we had seen him. She walked away and our server came back and asked what we wanted to order. He was short and quick to leave our table. Our move to this booth I feel is what caused us to have such a horrible experience. I believe our server was only waiting on our table in this particular section, but the rest of his tables were in another area of the restaurant. Nobody else in our section had our waiter… lucky for them, unlucky for us. He didn’t introduce himself like we had heard the others do. He didn’t tell us what the specials were like we heard the others do. When I asked him what the specials were, he stated the name of the dish, whereas the other waiters actually explained what each dish consisted of. My water was refilled frequently by the busser, but my husband’s pop was refilled once in 2 hours. We ordered calamari, which was nothing special. I ordered the Chicken Marengo, which is sautéed chicken breast and shrimp with mushrooms, onions, and tomato fillet in herbed white wine sauce. This was delicious, filling, and the portion was huge. My husband ordered the Chicken Valdostana, which is lightly breaded chicken breast topped with imported prosciutto, Fontina cheese, and roasted garlic white wine sauce. He didn’t like it and thought it fell short for the quality of cuisine we expect(and typically receive) at Andiamo. I asked for a box after flagging down the waiter. He showed up with not only the box, but the bill too! While reviewing the bill, my husband also noticed the ½ off wine bottles on Wednesdays… I was so pissed. Our waiter did nothing to make this birthday dinner a memorable one. The other tables were greeted with a huge dessert tray and a nice presentation of the options available. We got our bill and a nice«have a good night, happy birthday!» from our waiter who, as expected, dropped off our cards and ran off to tend to his other tables. I didn’t get to order my birthday dessert, which was a cherry on top of a terrible dining experience(no pun intended). The food overall was okay, but the service is enough for me to drive the extra miles to Detroit and get the service and quality I expect.

Visited here for lunch after a Trader Joe’s trip. When we arrived(a weekday lunch hour) there were few people, and we were seated immediately. I will say I like the spacious dining area, the décor is nice, without the fake ivy or faux tuscan urns or other Italian chain tropes. They use white tablecloths, and the staff are well dressed and very attentive. The menu looks very good, and they have a nice wine list. My overall impression in the end, however, is ambivalent. My husband ordered a fresh pasta/grill special which he really enjoyed. I had a ribeye/bacon/blue cheese sandwich, which sounded fabulous on the menu(caramelized onions, bacon, brioche) but was tough, greasy, and more or less flavorless. For dessert, we had cannoli. The filling was weirdly dense and pasty, and sweet without any flavor. Although our server insisted it was ricotta, I am positive it was mascarpone, which is just too dense for cannolis. In the end, with this price point, I would probably prefer to go a little farther out to Gratzi or La Dolce Vita.

5++++ for our waitress and the young man who kept our table cleared and our water glasses full. They were great! 3 for seating us later than our reservation– 22 minutes late. 3.5 for my cooked too long filet… it was a bit on the well side and asked for medium. 5 for my husbands made to order medium filet 5 for my sons spaghetti w/olive oil & garlic 4 for the Italian greens… Needed a squeeze of lemon 3.7 for the calamari … Texture good, but lacking flavor– needed more lemon and tomato dipping sauce 5 for the Caesar salad 4.5 for the cheesecake /crème brûlée — use fresh sliced fruit. Not my favorite steak place, but would try other dishes. The ambiance was nice and perfect pacing of courses.

We were there tonight for a big celebratory dinner party. We were in the private room on the right side. So other than the noise the kids in our party made, we were able to have a reasonable conversation, which has not been possible in the main restaurant. It was a nice party. There were 20 or so people around the large table and four generations attended. The party was hosted and so we had 5 dishes to choose from. They included the house specialty Veal dish which was a version of Saltimbocca, two different fish dishes, a New York Strip and a Filet Mignon. I had the New York Strip with Zip sauce and it was great, We also had house chopped salads, a small pasta dish, sides of whipped truffle potatoes and grilled asparagus. Then we got to choose from four desserts, The meal was served with baskets of bread and crisps and ratatouille. The meal was great as was the service and the ambiance, While I have never really been a fan of this place to go for dinner at a noisy table, going in a big group in the private room was a nice experience.

We went here because ML had a 40 minute wait. Remove one star because they want to force you into valet right from the start. I hate that. Make it a choice, but don’t cone off all the good spots for your car parkers that are only 19… Add one star because our service was amazing. Nuff said. Remove two stars because the food was meh. The calamari and mushrooms were great. The salad was terrible(get a salad spinner). The entrees were good. But for $ 180, nothing was amazing. I would try it again, but it wasn’t awesome.
