As a lover of all green vegetables I recommend this place. I love the funky combinations, like beets and ginger. I am able to discern the difference between fresh veggies, frozen and processed veg — and they most definitely use fresh vegetables. Über deliciousness in a glass bottle. I love that they use sustainable glass bottles; I’ve reused a few. The employees are quite knowledgeable on the cold press process and nutritional value of the ingredients which is a plus. Heaven knows I am full of questions :) I had not heard of this local company until I read an article about the sisters in the Detroit Free Press – their story is quite impressive. Inside the joint: The place is quite sterile; as one reviewer said«its a hallway and refrigerator«which is thee truth. Drought doesn’t earn five stars because of the location and difficulty getting in and out of the parking lot. I am a local that frequently roams Maple Road and I passed this place – twice! To boot, I missed my turn to get in the lot and had to walk across the grass to get to the door. Check out my entry tips for first time visitors, even if you are a local like me.

Jessica was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the product, process and the story behind Drought. She made my experience and selection easy! I went with one green one beet one and a the cold press coffee. The store front is crisp, clean and on fleek — the parking and where to enter is rather confusing and the prices are a bit steep. I do however understand the craft of the cold press juice, the glass bottle and the quality of product. next time i want to buy candles !!($ 20) I do see how these ladies are introducing the product to the market in this area — where it is more commonly seen in other cities across the US. Ann Arbor sells cold press juices at about $ 6. These are more like $ 11.

What it is: DROUGHT raw juice is juice in its most pure form. Made from 100% organic fruits and vegetables, our juice is unpasteurized, cold-pressed and glass-bottled beverage perfection. Imagine taking 2 – 3 whole grocery bags full of organic vegetables, and cramming the entire contents into a single bottle… all the nutrition, all the vitamins and nutrients in an easy to drink bottle, without having to eat 3 bags of vegetables! What to expect: The building is sparse. It’s a hallway and refrigerator. There is someone there to take your money, and give you a basic idea of what’s in the juices. What you must know: GOTOTHEWEBSITEFIRST! Experience: This is based over 3 trips. The ladies that helped me were very nice, but there is no information in the building. They will tell you Green #3 is sweeter because it has more apples, but less nutrients than Green #1, but it has lots of Vitamins A, E & K. That didn’t mean anything to me. I wanted to know: «This is good for detox», or «good for cleaning intestinal mucus», or «this is better for healing». However, to be fair all of that information is on the website, but I didn’t go to the website until days later. Quick FAQs: You can order several types of cleanses.(These«packages» are broken down into days, and variants of their Washes and Rinses). A Rinse is 3 juices($ 30) intended to be consumed throughout the day to help the body acclimate to raw, unpasteurized juice. The WASH is a juice-only program(no solid foods) designed as a one-day juice cleanse($ 63.00/ day). However, many people recommend it as a 3 – 5 day program. There are 2 options here! A Beginner Cleanse($ 153) gives you enough juice to lead up to, and follow, a 1-day ALLJUICE cleanse. An Intermediate Cleanse($ 186) is a 2 day cleanse, with the 3 day Challenge being $ 185.00. There are also other Cleanse package options. Nutritional facts are available on their website! Summary: Natural food is good for you, and you aren’t getting enough micronutrients!(Micro=plants and veggies, Macro=the other stuff… btw, non-organic stuff doesn’t count). After watching«Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead» by Joe Cross, I figured getting a few extra vegetables in my diet wouldn’t hurt… but I needed an efficient delivery system. For a constant traveler like me(or someone on the go), this is a much better option than buying a $ 150 juicer, and 4 bags of groceries every 2 days! I don’t see me doing a full All-Juice cleanse… but I can do 2 – 3 bottles/week as a supplement or Meal Replacement. I give this place 5STARS! It fits a need, and the juices are delicious! They just need a pamphlet or two for those of us «not in the know».
