The slowest, most useless customer service I’ve ever received. I went in for a 5 minute purchase. It took almost an hour. Go someplace else.

This 2-​star review relates to Lowe’s «delivery» bureaucracy. Good grief. I came very, very close to canceling $ 2,600 order because the business process supporting home delivery is so … inept/​frustrating.
When I placed the order in-​store on June 22^nd, I was asked to pick a delivery date. The first available date was July 10^th.
One week later, I received a call from Lowe’s:
Lowe’s: Your order is ready ready for pick-​up:
Me: I’m set-​up for home delivery.
Lowe’s: No, you are not.
Me: I’m certain. Mike showed me the screen, I picked a July 10^th delivery date.
Lowe’s: Oh. Let me check.
On-​hold …
Lowe’s: Okay. You are set-​up for delivery, but now you need to pick a date.
Me: I picked the date, with Mike, when I ordered the item. July 10^th.
Lowe’s: Oh. Let me check.
On-​hold
Lowe’s: No. Delivery is not scheduled. The first available date is until July 7^th.
Me: July 7^th is terrific! What time?
Lowe’s: We call you the night before, to confirm the delivery time.
Me: Great! Bye.
Ten days after order/​payment, I receive another call from Lowe’s:
Lowe’s: Your order is ready ready for pick-​up:
Me: I’m set-​up for home delivery.
Lowe’s: No, you are not.
Me: I’m certain I am. Y’all called me last week. It’s set-​up for July 7^th.
Lowe’s: Oh. Let me check.
On-​hold …
Lowe’s: It’s scheduled for delivery on July 7^th, but the contractor is not available, so we need to reschedule delivery … and we should deliver to the contractor, not you.
Me: What contractor? I don’t need a contractor. Deliver to me — just like the order says.
Lowe’s: Oh. Let me check.
On-​hold.
Lowe’s: You are correct. A contractor is not necessary. When are you available to be home for delivery.
Me: Is July 7^th the delivery date showing on the order?
Lowe’s: Yes.
Me: So deliver on July 7^th.
Lowe’s: Somebody needs to be home.
Me: Yes. This was all sorted out the night I placed & paid for the order. Then, again, during last week’s call.
Lowe’s: Oh.
July 5^th:
Lowe’s: Your order is ready for pick-​up.
Me: Home delivery is already scheduled for July 7^th.
Lowe’s: No it’s not scheduled.
Me: Yes, it is scheduled. Check again.
On-​hold
Lowe’s: You are correct. But there is no contactor/​address for the delivery.
Me: I don’t need a contractor. Deliver it to my home, just as the order says.
Lowe’s: Okay. Will somebody be home?
Me: Yes. When will you be able to provide a delivery time?
Lowe’s: We call the night before.
Me: Thank you.
July 6^th: No pre-​delivery phone call received to confirm the delivery time/​window. I call Lowe’s
Me: I’m calling to confirm my delivery window for tomorrow.
Lowe’s: We don’t confirm delivery times until the day of delivery.
Me: You sure? I was told you’d call tonite.
Lowe’s: Let me check.

Lowe’s: We’ll call you in the morning.
Me: Okay. Can you verify my order/​delivery?
Lowe’s: Yes. I see it is setup for delivery tomorrow. We’ll call you first thing in the morning.
Me: Got it.
July 7^th: No call from Lowe’s. I call them.
Me: I’m calling to confirm my delivery window for today.
Lowe’s: We call the night before to confirm delivery windows.
Me: That’s what I was told previously, but nobody called me. I called you last night, right before closing and was told that you’d call first-​thing this morning … but you haven’t called …
Lowe’s: Let me check.

Lowe’s: You are setup for delivery today. But there is no contractor or contractor delivery address listed. Where are we supposed to deliver?
Me: I don’t need a contractor. You are delivering to my home, just like the order says. What time will you deliver today?
Lowe’s: Let me check.

Lowe’s: We’ll deliver today.
Me: What time today?
Lowe’s: Let me check

A different Lowe’s voice: You are my second stop this morning. We should arrive in less than two hours. (And they did arrive within two hours)

Reasonable prices for perennials. Stopped on to buy potting soil for our purchases at the nearby farmers’ market.
The flowers on the garden center are healthy, even this late in the planting season.
I usually shop at Home Depot back home, but wish there was a Lowes closer to me.
