Yay! I’m a fan is right! Every time I stay here it’s been a good experience. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable, like I can walk around barefoot. If you’ve read any of my other reviews that’s important to me. :) The front desk staff is always friendly and accommodating. If you plan on staying here, I recommend booking directly through the hotel and not through a travel site, cancellation policies and all. Not a fan of the sleep number air beds, that’s why they don’t get a 5-star rating from me. However, I will definitely be back when I’m in the area!

Front Desk Manager Landon: I manage families’ life savings for a living. This has been a «violently flat» year and I’m literally exhausted as 2015 winds down. After finishing my workday which started at 6:30 a.m., scrambling for last minute holiday shopping/gifting before holiday traffic in Chicago, I embarked on a 5 hour drive straight to a 200 person holiday party in Michigan(arriving 9 pm). My local friends and clients RAVED about Kingsley as the best choice before my next(2 hour and back) drive to see family. Arriving at the hotel around 1:00 a. m, the lobby and adjacent restaurant was bustling, festive, and PACKED. However Landon greeted me with a warm smile and CALMING presence. His energy literally made me feel like I was getting a hug! I honestly had to take a moment to compose myself just now writing this review in appreciation! He offered to watch my bags and suggested where I could find parking in a FULL lot. When I returned, in professional yet gentle manner insisted on taking my LARGE, HEAVY suitcase, briefcase, gym bag(there was no luggage cart available) and showed me my room. Before«crashing», I texted my friends a Thank You, saying«love this place». Not sure if he felt pity for this weary traveler with bloodshot eyes and slumped shoulders or if he is this gracious an Angel to every guest, but I fully intended on submitting this despite full schedule

Nice rooms. And Landon did a great job on Christmas eve despite a busy lobby. Great restaurant little daddy’s across the street. Full family style. Large portions very inexpensive(wow) with great breakfast all day.

Not bad. This hotel is in an A+ location. I stay here sometimes when I come to town. Last time the front desk was okay but it took too long to complete my check-in. One attendant was very rude the other was very polite, I guess they cancel each other out. I LOVED the spa pool area. The jets in the Jacuzzi will blow the hair off your back. Great power, that’s how it should be for a good massage on the ol tired muscles. All cement no plastic, very large too. The pool was warm and clean. Last time I also noticed the room looked good and heat/air was working fine. BUT… cleanliness was lacking. The floor had stuff under the bed and right where you jump in(well I jump in). Candy wrappers and junk, old pieces of candy or something. Tells me maid service didn’t vacuum or not very well. The bathroom could have been cleaner too. I did let the front desk know upon check out and they claimed they would address that. This is a historic hotel in my book as I know it’s modest history. I’d hate to see it become a Bloomfield Hills retired landmark. I hope they rekindle the tradition of upscale exclusivity as the old Kingsley was known for. With the right management it can be done.

Five stars once a restaurant moves in A recent trip to the Detroit metro area led to a ten day stay at the Kingsley Inn. Born and raised here I was very familiar with the property and its transformations over the last fifteen years or so. Once again we made the correct decision to stay here despite the absence of a major restaurant on the premises. I must quickly add that«Nosh and Rye» IS here for excellent breakfast and lunch service. The property is no longer affiliated with Radisson and is undergoing gradual renovation. So one might wonder at four stars. I’ll tell you why. The staff behaves as family. Managers Landon and Daniel have weathered all the transitions and kept their own high standards in place throughout. Housekeepers are careful and courteous. Our room was spacious, well illuminated both by outside light and lamps. King size bed well positioned in a large room with separate sofa, desk, plenty of drawer and closet space. The bathroom fixtures were high quality with loads of hot water and a shower/tub handle that was easy to understand and control. Parking is free and safe and wifi is quick and also complimentary. Finally, there are many fine restaurants in the neighborhood including«Bills» just across the street. Along with all that, the price is right. Especially for a long stay. We’ll be back.

Avoid this hotel at all costs unless you enjoy shitty inflatable mattresses and loud old ac window units that produce more noise than cold. Seriously, the have shitty old sleepnumber mattresses. Do not come here, there are significantly better hotels for the price.

Have stayed here multiple times over the past 2 years and always had positive experience. Currently here for a week for work. Pros: Very FAST reliable internet. I just clocked 50Mbps down and 23 up which is great. I had a 3 hour Skype call and had zero issues. On-site Nosh & Rye Deli is open for breakfast and lunch with great staff and legit food. Comfortable and clean mid-range rooms. Great water pressure in shower(a must for washing long hair). Convenient location at Woodward and Long Lake(aka 18 Mile) Cons: No room service or on-site restaurant for dinner(deli closes at 3pm). I am not a fan of the Sleep Number beds, but oh well. Formerly under the Radisson brand and undergoing transition. Desk staff told me that the place used to be called Kingsley Inn ‘back in the day’ like the 1970s and is now deciding what to do with branding. They hope to become a fancier national brand in the future.

Sorry for not being constructive, but this was a really bad experience. I’ll try not to let my bad experience with a poorly trained front desk clerk jade my review, but she is representing the company and her actions speak loudly about what type of establishment could hire somebody like«Sharonda»! I really should have ran when the barely 18 year old looking girl next to me during checkout was able to checkin with an older man at 11:00 at night and paid cash! Who does that! Unfortunately I arrived late and the room was paid form. Let me tell you my room was that of a fast sinking hotel with subpar rooms. Peeling unvented bathroom with old rusted fixtures in disrepair. Stained carpet and walls. Desk chairs with tape holding the back panel together. I left the room all day to come back to a hot humid musty room. The bed wasn’t made, and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned with no clean towels. I had specifically requested from the morning desk clerk that I needed the room cleaned because I had to called early in the morning to get a do not disturb sign for my door since the room did not have one. The morning desk clerk informed me that people where stealing the do not disturb signs?! When I called the front desk to complain the night clerk«Sharonda» stated that she could move me to a clean room! I was tired and didn’t want to gather my belonging and move to another room, I asked for the night manager. «Sharonda» obviously had nothing better to do and refused to give me the name of any manager stating that since it’s the holiday weekend there would be no managers. I have to add that her tone on the phone was very dry and unconcerned. I’ll tell you what she could have done, she could have come and cleaned the room because she is an employee who should really be kept as much as possible in the background. I asked if Radisson still owned the hotel because they display it proudly on everything and she told me it was privately owned! For whatever reason, this Sharonda was trying her best to be as uncooperative and disrespectfully as she answered every question. My line of work requires me to stay at a lot of hotels, I have been to good hotels and not so good hotels, but I have never had someone from the front desk behave and act so unprofessionally as «Sharonda.» Frustrated, I told her she was representing well the low-level of service and class this hotel was representing she hung up the phone. I went to the front desk and demanded the managers name and told her that I was going to check out immediately. I was really upset and took my chances at 1:00 in the morning to find another hotel.(See Holiday Inn review). I went back to the room: packed and went back to the desk handed her my room cards and told her to give me my receipt so I could leave. I told her that she should also find another line of business to be in because she definitely did not need to be in customer service. She then said she had called the police and she would have me escorted off the property. Escorted off the property! How can I be escorted off some place I didn’t want to be. I told her to print my receipt so I could leave and never come back. Not only was she rude, but she was also inept because she acted like she could not figure out the computer to print out a check out receipt! I see Victor M. comments on some reviews, so he should know that he will never have an «A-1» hotel if he doesn’t have«A-1» staff. I see that someone else commented on how unfriendly the staff can be. I’m writing a letter also to the City’s Chambers of Commerce after this experience.

Stayed her for two nights. Check in was quick at 1130pm at night. Arrived late and was very happy with the quick no fuss check in. Bed was comfortable. Slept like a log for two nights. I am a single female traveling for a meeting in Troy. Troy was only 4 miles away. Bloomfield Hills is home to multi-million dollar mansions. Very nice area. Hotel had a deli/restaurant on site and open early!!! Staff was very accommodating and wonderful. Lots of towels in the bathroom. Rooms immaculately clean. WiFi was fast. Parking ample. Location easy. Very quiet. Large mall nearby in Troy. I would stay here again, in fact I am in two weeks. I highly recommend staying here without reservation!

Don’t let looks be deceiving :) driving up, I was kind of worried about what this hotel was going to be like and I was presently surprised :) checking in was smooth and Jocelyn was able to switch us to a king bed from 2 full beds… The room was very clean, the TV was updated and the bed was comfortable :) the staff throughout the stay was very hospitable :) we would stay here again in a heartbeat…

Staff wasn’t very nice and rooms were dirty… Mold in bathtub and I had stuff on my towels. Priceline put me here with«name your own price» saying it was 3 ½ stars… It was not. If this is the Best place to stay here then go somewhere else
