I actually have a couple Chinese take out places closer to me, but I prefer this one because a) If you spent $ 10, $ 20, or $ 30 you get a free item, which some places don’t have and b) their lo mein isn’t too saucy. Some places seem to drench their noodles and I prefer to add a little soy sauce as needed. Can’t exactly take the sauce off later. It seems pretty typical in other ways. The food is always done fast and sometimes you’re just in the mood for some greasy delicious food. It hits the spot for that.

Pretty average Chinese food. The staff are friendly and it’s close to my house, though, so I’ll probably keep hitting it up and trying to find the items on the menu that they knock out of the park.

Order was incorrect… Vegetable lomein was made with chicken– not edible for a vegetarian. The spring roll and egg rolls were great– not greasy at all! The delivery driver was pleasant, but the food was cold.

The online ordering system is super convenient and delivery was fast and accurate, but the food was just ok. The standards(dumplings, egg roll) were fine but average. Singapore Mei Fun was good, except for all the meats which were tough and not flavorful, even the roast pork. My kung pao chicken was just a saucy, un-spicy mess and the chicken had a questionable texture.

This is the third time that I have ordered take out from here. I ordered all different kinds of dishes from here and haven’t had one complaint! Each dish has been hot, fresh, and tasty. By far the best delivery Chinese restaurant that I have had in Bloomfield.

I’m giving Lucky Star only two stars, I called for delivery at 7:13 the food arrived at 8:20. The chicken wings were burnt and there was no pork in the pork fried rice. Very disappointed will not be ordering from here agin !

Best Chinese food in Bloomfield and I’ve tried many. I usually order the pork lo mein, broccoli w. garlic sauce, and pork egg roll. The broccoli always looks fresh and the veggies in the lo mein do as well. Very reasonable prices and they usually include a free soda! Also, fast delivery and always friendly.

It’s always hard to find a consistent Chinese Takeout place. My boyfriend has ordered here three times before,(I typically don’t crave Chinese) and one day he ordered when I was in. I ordered vegetable lo mein, and it was actually great! He always would rave about how good it was, so I finally gave it a shot. In the future, I will definitely order here again; especially with a $ 10 minimum order!

Unfortunately I have to change my 5 star rating to 2 stars as the last two times have left me dissatisfied. Lucky Star don’t do this to me! The time before this last time we ordered shrimp fried rice with our combinations with extra shrimp. Well my husband didn’t even have enough rice in there to cover the bottom of the container and mine didn’t come with any extra shrimp. Oh and they were sold out of shrimp rolls(Insert blank stare here). This last time, we ordered and the food just tasted super weird. The shrimp roll was ultra salty and I couldn’t even eat it. I have wasted money here twice and I am quite skeptical of doing it again.

I was raised«If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all». Which translates to me only writing 1 bad review in my entire life. This is the second. I walked 15 minutes(not a problem) to order some take out. Waited 25 minutes for the food. It sat in the back while the manager answered the phone to take orders. Another 15 minute home to find out that I had the wrong order! Well. that’s what I thought. Apparently, here, cashew chicken is chicken, carrots, bok choy, water chestnuts, pea pods and GREENPEPPERS! I’ve been eating cashew chicken all over the place for 30 yrs… It’s always just chicken, cahsews, and celery… Anyway… I can’t eat anything with peppers of any kind, otherwise I would have just eaten it. When I called back… another 20 minutes just to get over the language barrier, and being placed on hold while he tended to other customers, I finally was able to tell him that I can’t eat this food please, make me another without peppers, and I want it delivered. NO! That’s what he said. «We’re to busy to deliver». Told him I wasn’t walking another 30 minutes. So.suddenly he said he might be able to do that. Ok… now…time to give him my address. Let’s just say i’m truly amazed that anything gets anywhere. Just before he tried to rush away again I said I want new cashews(I had them placed on the side so they wouldn’t get soggy on my way home) as they were all burned. «No…it will cost you extra» But they’re all burned…“NO. cashews are very expensive. I counted… there we 15 burned cashews that was meant to be for a LARGE order of CASHEW chicken. That’s not that expensive to replace. To compare… If I order steak medium rare and the chef burns and blackens it… would I expect to be charged again for them burning it? Ok…on the good side. They did make me a new meal and it was delivered amazingly fast. Guess he finally understood my address. And it was delivered by the guy that was making the food when I sat for 25 minutes waiting for my food earlier. I guess he was pulled out to make the delivery. The food was really quite good. It was light… never made me feel heavy afterwards… BUT…sorry…more bad… they packed it in a plastic tray with plastic lid and the sauce ran all over my hand and burned it!!! Bad! Fortunately I had my lavender spray and St. John’s Wort oil immediately at hand. I did tip the delivery guy… not his fault everthing was such a mess… so the meal took 2 hours to get and ended up costing nearly $ 12.00 I had to forgo the cashews, of cashew chicken, and burned my hand to boot. Won’t ever go back. I’ll walk 10 minutes in the opposite direction and buy from New Chinese. Oh, I agree with another poster… the place is worn down… seats torn and feels a bit sticky. The table I sat at while waiting had dried/sticky rice all over it.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered crab sticks one night and received dry, overcook, disgusting breading and when I removed the breading the meat inside was horrible.

So, I needed catering for a party for my daughter, who decided that she wanted«Chinese Food» for her birthday party of 50 people… We talked with the owner, and he sent over veggie lo mein, fried, rice, shrimp and string beans, and sesame chicken. Everyone(one of our guests even owns a restaurant) said the food was amazing. So, so impressed with their service, the quality of the food and the price! Amazing, amazing. I also ordered chicken with broccoli and mixed vegetables from another restaurant in the area. These two are the BESTINBLOOMFIELD, hands down! The food was FANTASTIC.

I have been hoping around from place to place living in Bloomfield I have had some very bad experiences with Chinese food. I must say lucky star is the best in the area, that I have tried so far. I have tried quiet a few. Delivery time isn’t something that gets to me as long as freshness is there. Until they wrong me I am sticking with this place.

An OLYMPICWIN for 2014! Lucky Star… There is no luck needed here! Why do you ask? Great food! Easy online ordering! Convenience! Food is better than average! Fed a family of 6 well tonight! Fried half chicken is mouthwatering and delicious! Beef and broccoli is divine! Chicken lo mein was cooked to perfection. Wonton soup was great too… and with an order of $ 20 or more You can opt for a free pork fried rice or pork lo mein! Directly across from CVS makes for an easy park an pickup! Customer service is great! I think I was called«boss» at least a dozen times in the 2 minutes I was there. The guys in the back work hard to please and was amazed at how efficient he operated with two cooks and only himself answering phone to place orders and handling the register. Busy and he still remembers customer first? That’s why this place gets 5 stars and my continued business!!! Go for the GOLD and order from this place tonight!

Found this place on a fly, chicken and broccoli was yummy and the noodle soup is delicious. They also can make their fried rice with brown rice which is a plus.

Can I say… BESTINBLOOMFIELD! Fried half chicken was seasoned and made incredible with a yellow pork fried rice in perfection! Chicken Lo Mein had a nice garlic taste and my toddler wanted MORE!!! Beef with Broccoli was well done! You have to try this place! I will be ordering from here again and am singin’ the Madonna tune… «You must be my Lucky Star ’Cause you shine on me wherever you are I just think of you and I start to glow And I need your light And baby you know…» This place rocks! (Been meaning to write this review for the past 2 years!) I lived in town for 2 years before even noticing this place. Crazy. It’s easy to overlook and once there to think, «Naaah». –But what an awesome surprise! I enjoyed this place for the following 2 years I was in town. There is something that bothers me though. The food actually taste too good! No, I’m serious! It’s so darn tasty that I wonder what the heck they put in it that makes it so good compared to soooo many other chinese places. THEGOOD: –Consistent –Pretty much ready when they say it will be. Once or twice even got a call back when I was running behind. –Several different people work the front, one of the guys has an amazing personality. He is really great with people! –They even have online ordering!!! THEBAD: –You can sit and eat, and I’ve seen some that do. But it’s small and very basic. Not exactly visually inviting to sit and enjoy. It’s best for take-out I HAVEORDERED: Beef and Broccoli Shrimp Lo-mien Vegetable Lo-mien Shrimp roll Egg roll Egg drop soup Steamed Veg Dumplings(qty: 6 — a little too much dough) Steamed Dumplings(qty: 6 — a little too much dough) Fried Dumplings(qty: 6 — a little too much dough) [the sauce served with the dumplings is DIFFERENT than other places. It’s zesty. It has Zing to it!) I ordered other stuff but those were the staples. ALLVERYGOOD. I’ve just moved and I MISSTHEM!!!
