I went here for dinner tonight craving pot roast. We went at about 7:45 pm so it was past the dinner hour. It was very quiet and we were seated immediately. Our server immediately brought our drinks. I am a very fussy water drinker and it’s obvious that they serve tap water and I suspect that the water is not the greatest quality(I know because of the lengths that I had gone through with my well water to eliminate suffer from the water). It had a «taste» that carried over into the ice. But it wasn’t chlorine saturated so you decide. We were then served our salad and that was nice and fresh. I ordered the pot roast and my husband ordered the roast turkey dinner. The vegetable choices were very limited(peas or carrots). That was disappointing. My husband was very happy with his turkey. Unfortunately the pot roast was not as good. The meat was served over a very generous bed of buttered noodles. The meat was unlike any pot roast I’ve ever had. It tasted like very thinly shaved roast beef with a mediocre brown gravy over top. I would not ordered it again. The interior was dated but it had a small country diner ambiance. All in all, good service, dated décor and I’m sure, judging by my husband’s food that there are many tasty items on the menu. I’m not sure if we’re going to be in a hurry to return.

Stopped off at the Quickway Diner for breakfast on my way to the Villa Roma… The diner is right off the quickly and easily accessible off the main road. A big parking lot makes it easy too. Walking into this diner is a treat… The staff immediately recognized our entry, said hello with a big smile and seated us. When the waitress came over and said«hello» she made my wife and I feel like we had been long time customers here. You can tell the regulars as they come in, sit down and without a doubt seem like family to the team here. A simple breakfast of eggs and ‘homemade hash’ and ‘well-done bacon and eggs’ was PERFECT… I make a big deal about this since no-one seems to get it right. The homemade hash is delicious with big pieces of corned beef and very tasty potatoes. The well-done bacon was just that… well done crispy, meaty and not dried out. Our waitress was incredibly pleasant and really helps a dining experience… breakfast lunch or dinner. I highly recommend your making the stop here if your route takes you by this establishment.

A great diner — needs a little updating, but what older diner doesn’t? The food is great and it’s conveniently located… hence it’s name!

They should upgrade the diner seating. It’s very old and stuffy smelling. Almost like the old pit stop it was from 25 years ago. The floors need serious cleaning.

Waiters are miserable half the time but the food is great. Prices are not too bad. You can tell there are A lot of regulars. As soon as you walk in you get a death stare from all the lonely regulars that play lotto there and spend all their social security.

Stopped here at the tail end of a long Niagara Falls to Queens run with the family. Indeed easy to get to from the exit. Food was served quickly and was good. Portion sizes were average to above average. Service was good.

If you are on your way from Villa Roma back to the NYC area and don’t stop here, just eat at home. This diner was fantastic. The food was good and the service was superb. You aren’t going to find a better Diner for a 100 mile radius. Besides the food being good, there were a lot of choices. Omelettes, eggs, french toast, pan cakes etc. They also have turkey bacon. What I really liked was that in addition to having a short stack of pan cakes, they had a short french toast(2), which I had. I book marked this place… we’re eating here every year after our Villa Roma trip. I rated it a 5… if you rated it less then 4, I really don’t know what you are looking for. Just eat at home you are too demanding and unrealistic. Place was awesome.

The Quickway Diner’s breakfast in a bowl is terrific. I just had it for the first time a few days ago, as my husband and I were heading up to the Woodstock Museum. It was perfect for lunch or anytime. The breakfast bowl has home fries, luncheon meat of choice, scrambled eggs and melted cheddar cheese on top, all in a bowl. It was delicious and I would eat it again when I visit upstate new york. The food is great and the prices reasonable. Everyone was friendly and Teek was kind enough to send me via mail, my favorite jacket that I accidently left behind my chair when I left the diner. Thanks Teek and everyone else at the Quickway. See you all soon.

So basically, me and my two best friends went on a «Diner Run». Every Sunday for the last couple months, we visited every diner in the Hudson Valley. We ordered the same dish — Monte Cristo with Cheese Fries and Gravy. Hands down — Quickway took the cake on all levels. Their homemade gravy from scratch really is the best. The speed in which the food comes out is unmatched by any other diner in the area. The coffee is literally NUMBERONE in the area. Teek or Vee is always walking through greeting guests and making sure we are happy. If you go in late at night, you may get one of those older ladies who seem mad at the world — but we’ve been going to this place since highschool, and they’ve been working there that long too. So we expect it, and honestly, enjoy the late night waitresses and their snappy attitudes. It just feels right for the Quickway! Recently I got their ruben sandwich with pastrami — so good. so buttery. basically exactly what I wanted. slapped a little russian dressing on it — BAM! Me and my buddies will never go to another diner at this point. We truly ruled all the rest of them out(even though we knew who the winner would be all along). Quickway Diner really IS the place to be.

My wife and I visit there often. Best restaurant coffee!!! We usually get breakfast, and the only thing is consistency cooking eggs. Over easy is usually over med or hard. Real butter on toast and cream for coffee. Mostly locals, but worth the stop while passing through.

We came here for breakfast with my inlaws, and I was sorely disappointed. To start off, many of the staff that helped us were extremely rude! When giving my order, the waitress talked over me and made it seem as though my order was too tedious for her. The food was pretty awful. They claim that they make their corned beef hash from scratch, which is usually a really good thing. Not at Quickway, it was mostly potatoes and tiny little pieces of corned beef. I ordered a veggie omelet, and the vegetables in the omelet were cut into tiny tiny pieces so that you couldn’t even tell what you were eating. When I used the bathrooms, I was appalled at how dirty the doors were from people opening and closing them. The whole diner had kind of a dingy outdated feel to it. I understand the idea of having a vintage dinner, but this place was downright dirty. The one positive I will say is that they make their own hot sauce and it was delicious. Very unique and just the right amount of hot. I will not be returning to Quickway on my next visit to the inlaws!

Open 24 hours! I feel that is a baseline requirement for diners. Other than that I was not really wowed by this place. We stopped here for a pie and coffee break on our long 6+ hour drive home from my parent’s house. The pie and coffee were ok. Our waitress, although nice, passed my empty coffee cup by a few times.

Being born and raised in New Jersey, I can instantly and without a doubt express a scholarly opinion on diners that no scrublord plebian can hope to accomplish coming close to, their grabbing hands flailing and falling at the very base of the pedestal that I and other Garden State denizens, both driven and blinded by hubris enough to challenge the gods themselves, stand upon. I know my diners. I know how to tell the good under the glitz, to find the perfect amongst the classics, where to go and when to go there, what to order and what to avoid. That said, the instant a diner becomes part of a retail complex involving ice cream, gas, and used car sales — sponsored by two guys named Teek and Vee — is the instant a diner ascends to the highest possible praise I can give. The Quickway Diner would be at home anywhere in Northern New Jersey. Passing by on our way home from a cabin in the woods where miraculously my wife and I weren’t axe-murdered, we needed something to eat. I wasn’t super hungry, she needed food pretty badly for a gastric condition. Signs were seen on 17, meds were taken, loins were girded, and we were quickly at the Quickway. Lo and behold, what a proper Pullman looks like in front — the tiny square tiles, well-polished chrome on the counter, fully rotary stools with what looked like the original vinyl coverings! Were it not crowded with who I can assume were the Regulars, we’d have plunked keister to vinyl. Into the dining room we went. Clearly recently renovated, it wasn’t a bad place to sit and have a lovely view of the Catskill region. There’s a Quickdraw-only TV in this space if you want to gamble while you wait and eat. First stops, chicken soup. Nicely done, either homemade or done by a foodservice vendor that’s getting it right, the noodles were freshly cooked and a nice al dente egg noodle. The veggies and chicken were omnipresent and joyful. Eggs, done by request — dry, with the wife’s English muffin not buttered. It may be something fairly obvious that the staff convey orders properly, but some diners just don’t get«please use minimal cooking spray on the eggs and no butter on the toast» as if they’re being asked to perform complex quantum physics on a tightrope. But they got it right, the eggs were nice and fluffy, the toast was try. Meatloaf sandwich. HOLYCRAP. Teek, Vee, get out of the car business and into the cookbook business. I will buy your meatloaf recipe sight unseen. Among the best meatloaves I’ve ever had anywhere, mostly because of copious garlic. This is a good thing. It was served with a little dish of gravy, which was very definitely homemade and was a HELLA implementation of meatloaf gravy. Again, guys, sell me the recipe. Fries. Standard ¼″ x ¼″ size, DONEPROPERLY. Crisp outside, literal fluffy inside. Whatever combination of oil, time and temp that has been put forth here, it is the correct one that should be emulated. Sadly, this is but four stars. Reasons? Mostly circumstantial changes from the superior master class of Jersey diner, presented here as points of improvement for the Quickway and not indicative of flaws. –Water doesn’t go down on the table automatically. –No Splenda/sweeteners on the table, just normal sugar. –No jelly came out with the eggs. –Bit of a cramped entryway. Look, those things are just me being a good critic and offering constructive bits. It’s not to slam the Quickway — if nothing else, it’d elevate it. This is quickly my new favorite diner. Would that I lived in the area, but if I’m ever driving NY17, I am going to include a meal at the Quickway in my travel plans. Not driving during a mealtime to pass the Quickway? MYPLANSWILLCHANGE.

First — if you are a fan of vintage diners — hidden under that façade of the Quickway is a classic Pullman diner. If you sit in the front, you can sit in this classic section. The diner ambiance in the rest of the Quickway is OK. The food is competent diner food, and the standards(burgers and fries, fried chicken) are excellent. In a dozen meals there, we have never had a bad one.

We came here around brunch time but I was happy to hear that they were already serving lunch. The menu is really overwhelming here — they have pages of options yet nothing seemed particularly appealing to me. I finally settled on a chef salad with balsamic dressing. This is purely personal preference but I prefer when the ham and cheese are chopped up into bite sized pieces and not rolled up like a sandwich. For some reason, whenever I see rolls of food like that, it grosses me out. Yes, I know, I need help. :) The ratio of toppings to salad were impressive. They really were great about giving you an ample amount of ham, turkey, and cheese which I was happy about. The salad itself tasted fine but again, nothing that really stood out to me. It’s a good place to stop by if you’re staying in the area but not sure I’d go out of my way to come here.
