10th St Alterations

I went in February 2011 to have a vintage dress altered at the bust. JUST the bust and I made that extremely clear before the fitting. The seamstress not only permanently marked the dress at the back zipper line but then proceeded to tell me to wear a bigger bra because I obviously needed it since the bust was now severely gapped due to her pinning the zipper. Nothing makes a woman feel better than being told her boobs aren’t big enough, right?
Needless to say I walked out with the dress despite the owner demanding to be paid for a fitting that was demeaning and insulting.
Also, to get six inches hemmed off and to have it taken in an inch at the zipper, she told me it would cost $ 80 dollars.
Bottom Line: Poor service and outrageous prices.
