Very happy with the service I received. Fair prices and was helped by a nice lady. So much better than the rude guy out towards Spencer. I guess my hard to find part wasn’t so hard to find, they had it for me in a couple of days.

I brought in my 1 year old lawnmower because it was running rough. I told the receptionist it likely just needed the carburetor cleaned and adjusted. A few days later I received a call from AMH saying that I needed a new carburetor and that the mower wasn’t running. I was pretty surprised since the mower hadn’t been used all that much and it was running when I brought it in, I was 99% sure it just needed a tune-up. I took it to Richard’s Small Engine in Ellettsville instead, they gave it a tune-up, and I’ve been mowing happily all summer.

We recently had our riding lawn mower(Husqvarna), portable generator(Troy-Bilt) and push mower(Troy-Bilt) serviced by Adam, owner of AMH Repair. This is where I confess my fiancé and I know very little about small(or big) engines and were at a loss and a little panicky when nothing would start. We made some amateur efforts to trouble shoot, but no success. After a few internet searches, we made the call to Adam at AMH as it appeared his business was one of the few in the Bloomington Indiana area that said they would come to your home. There was an $ 85 up front fee to pick up /return to our house. Believe it is $ 65 for in town. No other commitment. Adam would give us an estimate and if we chose to not proceed, the equipment would be returned and we were only out $ 85, and would at least know what repairs were needed. Adam arrived on time, loaded the equipment and within a day or two we had a diagnosis on each piece, a timeframe and cost for parts and labor. The riding mower and generator had parts that were backordered, so it did take a little extra time to have everything repaired and returned– not the fault of Adam. The riding lawnmower needed a new starter, full tune up, and blades sharpened. This was expected as we had inherited the«husky» from my brother 2 years ago and had done nothing to maintain it. The generator needed a starter and new battery. The push mower received a general tune up and blades sharpened as it was not living up to its«one pull start» billing. Total cost and time was $ 85 pick up/delivery, $ 560 parts/labor, 2.5 weeks due to backorder parts. The equipment is running better than ever!
