I called Benson’s to repair my front load washer that was leaking from the door. When I explained what I saw, I was told it was likely a part called the boot. They would order the part and come out today to install it. Got home today and looked at the receipt left by the technician. Saw the usual part and labor charges. Then I noticed another $ 50 charge. When I called I was told it was a trip charge to come out and«diagnose» the problem. Seems to me the diagnosis took place over the phone when I called a couple of days ago. Plus, this fee was not disclosed when I called or when the technician arrived. They were quick to ask twice how they would be paid for the work before completing the job, but evidently couldn’t be bothered to explain the costs. Needless to say I won’t be doing business with them again.
