Nice small airport in Central Il. With Free parking.

Nice and clean airport

This is a little baby airport that hasn’t grown up yet and that can be a good thing. This place has nine gates all in one corridor so navigating through it is ridiculously easy. It is so small that people flying in/​out for the first time just say «Oh wow!» and smile.
On my visit security was quite slow for such a small place. The building is nice looking and spotlessly clean.
Like most airports there is a restaurant/​bar outside security and one inside security. So I’m waiting in this slow security line and I’ll I can think of is a cold beer before I jump on my flight. I finally get to the pub inside security and I see a sign that says– «Sorry, no alcohol. We are waiting for our liquor license to be mailed to us.» There is no chance that I’m going back through security again so I sit at my gate very annoyed. What a surprise! I’m surrounded by many other annoyed travelers for exactly the same reason! If you are running a small airport you just don’t let this kind of thing occur.
This could have been a three or four star review. Now it’s two stars.

It’s a small regional airport… Gotta set your expectations appropriately! Security is a breeze, updated, wifi is free, restaurants open at off hours… Way better than a 2 hour plus drive from a major airport!

Cute, tiny airport with a couple of gates and one lone airport bar with (when I was there) a jerky waitress.
However — if I come back to Bloomington, I’ll be making the drive from Chicago, Peoria or St Louis. There are no flight options and if something gets delayed you’re screwed.
