Once a month, the Blue Moon Coffeehouse hosts singer-songwriters on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University. I’ve now seen Melissa Ferrick(2007) and Catie Curtis(2008) at the location and it’s a steal. For $ 10, you can see exceptional musical talent up close. They sell coffee for 50 cents a cup, and various cakes and cookies for about a dollar. No, there is no beer sold there or any lighting effects to the acts. But if you’re coming for the music, you’re in luck. There are folks from the community, the college and from the greater Midwest area, depending on the popularity of the artist. Even though many of these artists will also tour in larger venues, you won’t have a more comfortable, intimate setting in the bigger cities. If you live in St. Louis or Chicago, it’s only a two hour drive to Bloomington. Check it out! **Note this is Bloomington, ILLINOIS, not Indiana. Not sure why Unilocal assumed IN.
