Extra Space Storage

I have rented at least 6 units from this location. I have always received awesome service from the staff and my units were always clean and secure. I would recommend Extra Space Storage to everyone.

BIG FAT LIARS. Advertised: Get 1 Month Free & 15% Savings all over the Internet including their own website. Called and they refused to offer this deal. Highest prices in town. Terrible customer service. Very rude sales person. Installed cookies on my computer when I searched «self storage» in Bloomington, IN and advertised to me on all websites I visited including Facebook. Spoke with friend and she advised that she got bed bugs, clothing moths from this location, also mice in couch and mattress. DO NOT USE!

I stored my belongings with this facility for less than a year. Within the first few months they raised my monthly rental rate by $ 10 dollars. I started paying $ 120 for a 10×10 and then they bumped it up to $ 130 and then again a few months later added $ 10 more so by the end of one year with them I was being asked to pay $ 140 a month for a 10×10. When I inquired about rate raises they said it was stated in the agreement they have the right to raise rates. It seems really unethical to intentionally let someone move all of their belongings into a location then raise the rates; they’ve literally got your hands tied because IT COST more to rent another moving truck and go to a different storage company so they just keep raising the price on you. When you express your displeasure they like to do the management pointing fingers game where it’s «out of their hands» or that’s just what the system does, and they can’t change it. Also, they only let you pro-​rate your rent once, but tell you after you’ve already done it so you better be sure nothing goes wrong with your move out date prediction. They require you to pay insurance, but they don’t advertise their prices with it included. The costumer service at this particular location was always very friendly, but the company itself will just continue to take from you. They have no costumer loyalty; the longer you’re there, the more they’ll charge you. Seems backwards to me.
