Gather – handmade shoppe

My 9 year old son and I chose awesome, unique gifts for 10 people on our holiday list in a single visit to Gather AND stayed on budget.
What a treasure trove of exceptional quality, handmade items! We’re so into Gather. You must give it a go for gifts for yourself and the people you like. Even on crazy Saturday-​before-​Christmas with a full store of shoppers, the vibe was mellow & welcoming.

Gathering is a pop-​up shop, and this Fountain Square Mall location closed after the holidays. However, it wasn’t the first and won’t be the last — it’ll just be in a new location. The shop was full of handmade items seemingly from around the Midwest and many even local. Items included jewelry, pottery, lip balm, t-​shirts, scarfs, posters, wallets, journals, toys, bibs, crayons, and more. They were a little light on items for men, as it typical for these types of stores. Still, I’d like to see them branch out a little. A great place to find gifts. Looking forward to the next iteration!

Gathering is the best place in town to do your holiday shopping! The owner has sought out the very best in local handmade for this one of a kind shop. Great selection, wonderful art, and a chance to support local artists and artisans.

My experiences with the Gathering have been totally positive. I participated in the first Gathering, which took place in an artist’s home and in their most recent one at the Blueline Gallery. The first one was small and intimate and the most recent one was like a hip party, filled with music and lots of great art. It’s obvious that Talia and her team of volunteers have committed to making the Gathering the best handmade boutique in town, learning from each event and putting that knowledge to work by making each event bigger and better. Talia H., the founder of the Gathering is not only a talented and innovative craftsperson herself but she has a good head for the business end of things and she has an amazing ability for bringing together talented artists and craftspeople. I am proud to have been included with those invited to sell their wares and I’m looking forward to participating in the next event which I know will be the best Gathering yet!
