Let me start off by saying the haircut I got here was absolutely fine. All I wanted was a trim, but still, I have no complaints there. However, overall it was just an uncomfortable experience. Stylists dressed unprofessionally, constant chaos dealing with new walk-ins, and and overall feel that none of the stylists wanted to be there. Just a really unprofessional experience. For $ 13, I guess you can’t expect more, but I will not be coming back.

Once I was told that unless I had a sitter for my child, then I would not be able to get my haircut as he couldn’t sit by me in another seat. WHAT??? Staff is rude, inexperienced, and there for a paycheck only. More than once I’ve ended up having to go somewhere to fix what they’ve done. What is most awesome is when I have to take scissors and fix it myself(I’m not a stylist, by the way). I always feel like an inconvenience when I come in. Me? Oh I’m just looking for a haircut. My bad, because I thought that’s what you do. But no, I can see that going outside to smoke is much more important. Which reminds me, almost all the staff smells like an ashtray. So smoke breaks must happen quite often. With this review, I’ve talked myself out of ever going back.

I’m not sure how effective it would be to complain about getting a bad haircut from Great Clips. I didn’t expect them to live up to their name. And you shouldn’t either. But for the price it’s tempting. What you should be aware of are the things you might NOT expect: the stylist interrupting your haircut 10 times to check walk-ins into the computer, the stylist giving you a bad haircut because she is in a hurry to get the walk-ins that the other stylists aren’t interested in helping, the stylist not stopping to check her work because she is probably tired from being sick with the flu(judging by the sound of her PRODUCTIVE cough), and generally being«over it» with walk-ins and customers in their chair because, and I quote, «you act like this isn’t a Tuesday afternoon.» I’m not going back to Great Clips because although I don’t especially care about achieving a nuanced look — I’m fine with cutting it, not fussing with it and being done — I definitely don’t want to give money to stylists who would rather I go away than cut my hair.
