After I had a breakdown, we used Unilocal to try and find a best place to get our car fixed and we were not disappointed! We were quoted a price and after only having the car a day and a half we were called and told it was ready picked up at the quoted price! This was a huge us for me. They also fixed something that needed taken care of and didn’t charge any extra! Friendly old school car guys at a great price with above average time getting it done. We have totally found a new mechanic in Bloomington!

An unassuming two bay auto shop… who would expect such great service? After trying to find a auto shop in town to check the brakes on my car, I ran across the reviews of this place and decided to take a chance. Turns out there was nothing wrong with my brakes, but Scott recommended that I get new tires and an alignment. Since they do not sell tires or do alignments, I was grateful to have found an honest mechanic that would actually give me some advice that didn’t make him extra money at my expense. He didn’t even charge me for a full hour. This kind of place is a rare find and if you are unsure or untrusting, like I am, then you will be happy to have found this place.

I took my car here on the recommendation of a co-​worker, and boy am I glad I did! I needed my back brake rotors and some brake pads replaced. I dropped my car of at 8:30 and they called with an estimate at 9:15. My car was finished by 11:30. The owner was helpful from start to finish, very polite, and personable. The building/​shop is not fancy or shiny, but don’t let that stop you from having them work on your car. I was worried that, as a younger female who pretty much had no clue what I was doing, I would be given a high estimate/​cost or told I needed more work than necessary, but I had a great experience at J&S!

Saved us $ 400 by giving us an honest estimate after Midas tried to rip my son off on a rusted brake line and two rotors. Did quality work on a timely basis. Highly recommended.

I’ve been looking for an auto repair shop for a while and I think I’ve found the place. I took my Toyota Rav4 in to have the front brakes and rotors replaced. They gave me a quote over the phone that was about $ 40.00 less than other shops in town. Mande and appointment and had my car there by 8:00 when they open the shop and was called by 10:30 to let me know my car was done and accurate to the estimate.
If you are looking for a no nonsense repair shop with guys that are honest, to the point, and efficient give them a call. They don’t do everything in regards to repair but they will recommend places in town if they can’t take care of your repair needs.

I live in the Village, so when my struts needed to be replaced it made sense to come here. I was very surprised by the reasonable labor charge ($ 65/​hr) and how quickly they were able to get my car back to me. Nice guys, too.

Took my car here when my breaks went out. I also got my timing belt done at the same time. The price they did it for was quite reasonable and lower than the other places that I called first. I will be using them again when I need it.
