Today, I went here to use my Groupon and found out that this place has close its doors. The other vendors next to them told me that they have gone out of business. Anyways, my review of their food now is moot. But when they use to exist, their gyros was just ok. The meat was dry and it was just a tiny portion making you to buy another plate to be full even though one plate cost about $ 10.

I went here on a Google Offers deal. I must say that this is a great place. I will certainly return to this place. Their gyros meat is *much* less processed than most other greek restaurants and it tastes quite good. As long as you watch out for the pitts in the olives, you’ll be okay. Their portion sizes are fairly large. When I was in line, I actually saw a man returning for seconds because he loved their food so much and I certainly must say I agree that it’s worth taking home or something if you want to. Go here, you won’t regret it. Expect to spend about 10 bucks on a combo with a drink.

Fantastic for a food court. Tried combo #3: got me a lamb gyro and Greek salad. Lots of meat on the gyro, and good tomatoes in the salad. Watch out for pits in the kalamata olives. With a diet pepsi, it was about ten $.

Delicious lamb gyro, great tzatziki! Didn’t expect Greek food of this quality in a mall food court.

Great portions. Steamed rice, seasoned lamb, greek salad with luscious red tomatoes, feta cheese and salty olives turned out to be a super fast, healthy, over-the-counter meal in between shopping stints.

I think this place is right between 4 and 5 stars but I’m in a good mood right now so I’ll round up. Mall food is gross. OPA! is not gross. It’s actually really good. You know how sometimes you can get Greek food and, while it’s really tasty, it can taste a bit greasy, like they made sure to add enough fat and oil to make it seem like it tastes really good because fat is oh-so-satisfying? Well, they don’t do that here. Nothing was greasy but it was all really flavorful.(Note: I did not have fries but I would expect fries to be greasy and that is actually acceptable because they’re fries). I had the chicken combo plate which came with a skewer of chicken, Greek salad, rice and pitas. It was all very, very good. I think they normally have some chicken warmed up and ready to go but they cooked mine right to order and it was delish — very flavorful, moist, and satisfying. The rice was bland(but I never planned on eating it) and the salad was very good. My mom had the falafel(fava) pita with a side of Greek salad. It was flavorful and delicious, too, and it did have a sauce on it but it did not seem oily. Her side of Greek salad was huge, and really good. Also, everything was really inexpensive. I will never eat any place else in this mall ever again.

Best Greek fast food I’ve had in years. I feel dirty coming to the mall of america for it, but it’s the first place I’ve been to in the twin cities that doesn’t serve texturally disgusting gyros meat. I wish all the Greek joints would grill their meat instead of sticking it in a warming pan after slicing it off the spit.

Working at the mall… I experience the disappointment of mall food far too often… However one place that I have never been disappointed with is Opa! This is my favorite place to eat in the mall and the food is always wonderful. The owner of Opa! works there all the time and he makes sure that the quality of the restaurant is top and he always tries to accommodate special requests. Each combo item has the choice of different kinds of meat(I recommend the Gyros meat, however the chicken and the tiger prawn shrimp are also very good) and a choice of a Greek or Caesar salad. The fries at Opa! are also the best in the mall. The Tzatziki sauce is an amazing complement to their taste as well. All in all, Opa! is a great choice at the mall and everyone is jealous when I sit in my break room at work and eat! So if you just happen to find yourself in the north food court and all your friends are standing in line at Burger King… Hop into the Opa! line and make them jealous!

I feel weird giving 4 Stars to a place in a mall food court, but OPA! Souvlaki didn’t disappoint me one bit. First off, the guy working was nicer and more helpful than your average food court employee. He explained the slightly confusing menu, didn’t get flustered when I changed my order more than once, and volunteered useful info such as the fact that the kalamata olives weren’t pitted. Secondly, my gyro and salad were surprisingly delicious and fresh. The Subway — like assembly line let me pick all my toppings and overall it seems relatively healthy. I’m always in search of a good gyro and heck, now I know where to find one in MN. If you’re at the Mall of America and want something other than the standard burger/pizza/Asian food/burrito, I suggest wandering over to the end of the food court(next to Dairy Queen) and trying some Greek food! According to the OPA! Souvlaki website they are a Canadian company and the only US stores are the Mall of America and a couple places in AZ. Go figure. The website offers complete nutritional information and also says they now offer low carb menu options. «Kalí óreksi!»

Almost hidden among a row of mega-chain eateries in the Mall of America food court was a nice surprise called OPA! The bowl of oregano and hand-mixing of the salads was an indication that this is no factory food. The Gyro plate was tasty and fresh, and when the guy apologized that they were out of roasted potatoes, he added an extra bunch of meat to an already full plate of cucumber/tomato salad, olives, feta, rice, yoghurt sauce and a piece of fresh grilled flatbread that was rubbed with a garlic cheese mix. Maybe it’s just Minnesota or that this is a Canadian chain, but they guys were super nice and seemed knowledgeable about their own food, which is rare for food court establishments.
