One of the worst places for service I’ve ever been to. Period. Over 30 min without anyone coming to take an order. I’ve had to go to the bar twice to get drinks. There are two guys and three servers standing in the corner by the captain Morgan statue with PR shirts on and they were even within arms reach of me when I went to the bar each time. The only person worth anything is the bartender who is soloing it behind the bar and accommodating me.

The sign at the hostess stand said seat yourself. The sign for the patio said to check in at the hostess stand. A server told me to go ahead and seat myself on the patio. After 15 minutes on the patio, I still hadn’t been greeted by anyone. I finally went inside to the bar and ordered a glass of wine and a glass of water and walked back out to the patio with them in hand. Patio is noisy, but I expected that since it’s on a highway.

Went for the first time. Liked the atmosphere but food was just ok. Hostesses told us no open seats available for 15 minutes in the bar area but we could get a drink while waiting. As soon as we went into the bar area we saw several tables open so not sure what the deal was there. A waitress gave us the go-ahead to sit so we did. A coworker had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes which she enjoyed until she found a blonde hair in her mashed potatoes. The wings had little meat and I had the Cajun Pasta which was just so-so. Good place for happy hour, would be willing to give the food another shot.

Since Tony Roma’s(a place for ribs slogan) moved to the popular Mall of America, our local residents got no place to get phenomenal ribs anymore! Yelling!(Or Unilocaling) seems to have got some ones attention because Poor Richards ribs definitely satisfy my pick tastes. They are consistently falling off the bone tender and never chewy. I generally don’t post reviews on food quality unless I’ve had multiple consistent experiences. I’ve had Poor Richards full menu both in Bloomington and Burnsville at least 20 times and the food was perfect evert time, either dine in or take out.

Ordered BLT ahi tuna sandwich. Very good but a lot of bread. Mayo based Sauce was very good and the right amount. Choice of fries, garlic mashed potatoes. All exceptional!

I was very impressed with all the food at this location. Lots of unique menu items. My burger was cooked correctly, but seemed a little on the lean side. Every ingredient in the nachos was top notch. I will stop again if in the area. Music was a little loud.

YUM. Drinks and food were delicious. My friend just moved to the area and we came across this place and decided to try it out for lunch. Our server was friendly and got us everything we needed without any hesistation. As first-timers to Poor Richard’s, our server gave us a great recommendation on which cocktail to try. We sat by the windows and it was nice to have the sun shining on us in the cold Minnesota winter season! The atmosphere definitely changes on weekend nights, but during the day it’s a great place to grab a cocktail and lunch with friends!

First of all I spent about $ 50.00 to feed my fam, and then the worst brisket sandwich I have ever had. I didn’t know what was brisket and what was bacon. chicken cheese dip was alright I guess, taste like can chicken. bacon burger was WACK chicken fingers WACK. So in conclusion don’t waste your time!!!

Yummm… such amazing food! Try the steak bite appetizer with their peanut sauce, it is to die for. Tender and juicy meat! Walleye fingers… perfect amount of breading vs fish. Portions are large and very well priced menu. The staff was great and the manager loranna checked on us and she was probably the most friendly and efficient manager I’ve ever seen. Definitely going back!

Excellent food! We went for dinner. Drinks were good, nice atmosphere, great food! I had the Apple Cranberry Porkchop and oh was it fantastic!!!(Wish I’d have taken a pic as it was also very creatively served on the plate.) Others in my group had the top sirloin, salmon, and St Louis ribs. Everyone thought their food was great. There is also a large outdoor patio for the summer months. Great place!

Really good food. If you want a dinner / Corporate /fun feel, go before 7 pm. After that, if you’re in a party(kinda ghetto) mood, check it out as well.

Saturday lunch. Soup of the day was Chicken Noodle. It was thick with stringy shreds of chicken and lots of mushrooms(!) and was entirely flavorless. If I had my eyes closed I wouldn’t have been able to tell if I was eating a paper napkin or the soup which had lots of unrecognizable bits of food in it. The mashed potatoes on another diner’s order were similarly completely flavorless as were the fries which came with the kids’ burgers. The cod sandwich came out instead as pieces of cod which were spicy but really heavily breaded and fried until nearly burnt. The chicken fingers app were dry and again fried just to the point of burning.

This place is like«meh»…nothing special. Was there for happy hour with a large group of coworker’s. We had booked in advance and arrive to find a table setup that was not at all conducive to a large group. We had to ask for additional seating even though our reservation was for 20 people. The happy hour menu is $ 3 off most apps. Most of them were quite ordinary. Only the coconut shrimp and ahi tuna were worth mentioning. I wouldn’t come here again unless someone really wanted to. So many other joints are better than this place.

Well… We came here on a recommendation… First of all we sat in an area for dining that reminded me of a «supper club» in the 70’s. AND we had to watch Wheel of Fortune” on the TV that was right above our heads. Really? There was one server for the entire room resulting in service being slow– he was very very nice and my family liked their food, aside from my French dip that had a huge tendon gristle part through my entire sandwich — which I sent back. We told them it was our sons birthday which they didn’t even acknowledge — so that’ll be the last time we go there… Not a fan.

Went there for the first time last night: drizzly, dark, but a full parking lot, which is a good sign. Big place inside, nothing special about it, but it looked comfortable. Kinda reminded me of Cowboy Jacks — not the décor, just the feeling I got upon walking in the door — and the the former Champps on W 7th in St Paul. I thought the bar would be packed, but there were enough seats for me and the missus. We had a Groupon, but I took the pulse on Unilocal before taking the $ 29 plunge, and it was a solid 3, with your typical nonsense of 5s and 1s scattered around. First thing up was the«blackened cheese dip» appetizer. Major criticism here is that I didn’t get much sense of cajun spices here at all. Seemed to be your typical cheese dip, though it did contain some generous portion of chicken — cooked to a nice consistency, too. Overall, the dip was fine, I just wanted more of the«blackened» part. Big criticism of the tortilla chips that came with it: way too thin for the consistency of the dip: seems like I was breaking every one of them when I went deep. Though after telling the wife that«this shit is going on my Unilocal review», she proceeded to show me that she was having no trouble with HER chips. «Be sure to put THAT in your Unilocal review,» she said. Noted. I wavered between fish & chips and the blackened chicken pasta, but when I asked the bartender if the cooks could kick it up, she said they could, so blackened chicken pasta it was! Good presentation when it arrived, and a big serving, with a soggy and cheap breadstick. It was rotini in a cream sauce(though to begin with I thought they’d skimped on the sauce, but it was thinner than I expected, and it had settled below the surface). Main criticism here was that there were chunks of red and green pepper, as well as surprisingly large chunks of chicken. Maybe they do it that way for presentation purposes; it definitely looked like it had a ton of colour, but that was the drawback for me. I’d have preferred to not have cut up the shit myself. But they definitely kicked up the spices, like I’d asked. If anyone’s read my other reviews, I can eat just about any spice level, and while this wasn’t even close to what I’d consider hot, it had a pleasant complimentary heat to it, and it made my nose run, so compliments to the chef. All in all, it was a pretty good meal. The place isn’t as obnoxious as a Cowboy Jack’s or as dull as that Champps was, it’s strictly middle of the road. The servers were nice enough, the manager was cool when he came out to approve the Groupon, so yeah. We left agreeing that if there was another Groupon we’d probably go back sometime.

We dined in with a Groupon and weren’t expecting much based on previous reviews. My brother ordered the mac ‘n cheese and the sauce was good but a bit too heavy. The penne was al dente. The fish tacos were average as they have too much breading and you cannot taste the walleye. Very bland. The French Dip was average with good fries. Not too bad but the prices are high without a Groupon. Service was friendly but she didn’t write our order down and made a mistake. A shout out to Kennedy at the hostess stand. She shook my Down Syndrome brothers hand on the way in and remembered his name on the way out. Restaurant staff rarely pay attention to him so that made his day and will probably bring us back again. Management should recognize her exceptional people skills. I would have given it a 2 star rating but bumped it to 3 because of Kennedy.

Went for HH on a Wednesday. It was pretty busy at about 5pm of course. $ 3 off all non steak/seafood apps. Service was a little slow, but not unbearable, and server was friendly and came back to check on us. FOOD: –Chix Flatbread Quesadilla — 2.5 stars, average, what you’d expect, good portion size –Poor Richard’s Wings — 3.5 stars, these are spicy! I like! –Waffle Fries w/Truffle Dijon — 4 stars crispy and lightly seasoned, up to par for my waffle fry standards Overall, pretty standard bar food and pretty average taste. Better than Applebee’s but not gourmet or innovative. Get the job done for HH.

I went here with a friend for Happy Hour after work, so it was quite busy. We probably waited about 5 minutes until we got water. It took about another 5 minutes until our server came and took our order. We didn’t get our food until about another 20 – 25 minutes. Keep in mind that we only ordered appetizers, which were $ 3 off the original price. Atmosphere was quite nice. They had a few TVs around. Service was good. Food was what you would expect from a bar & grill. Waffle fries — 4 stars Poor Richard’s wings — 3 stars(very spicy) Chicken quesadilla — 4 stars

Good easy spot for beers and some apps. We havent eaten dinners here so our review is for the apps. Everything we had was decent. The service was great in the bar area. Personable and smiles. Went a long way. Nothing was wrong with the food but nothing stood out as something I would come back for. Just another casual dining bar food. We will be back and try some other items.

I had booked a room at the nearby LaQuinta to explore the Mall of America before moving on to downtown Minneapolis and after a long day of travel and the Mall we decided we needed a bite to eat, options were limited in the area without a car so luckily Poor Richard’s Commonhouse seemed like a great option with reasonable prices. Once we arrived we were seated on the bar side, which was rather loud, however I am sure the sound would easily travel over to the dining room side of the restaurant. Neither of us were feeling all that well so we decided to skip the beer, which may have been a mistake considering everyone else was drinking. The menu here is pretty large, and has something for almost everyone. I decided to go with the Fish & Chips which were pretty good. The fries were also pretty good, portion size seemed to be just right too. The service was ok, nothing I would brag about. There are multiple TVs all over the bar area, which would make this a great place to catch a game or spend Sunday afternoon watching football.
