Visiting MOA from Colorado. Needed a break and a pedi. Lovey salon, outstanding pedicure, with much attention and care taken. Sabrina is a wealth of knowledge also about many topics and certainly about Aveda, the history of the company. I learned a lot and felt so relaxed. Only suggestion is a better pedi chair. But trust me Sabrina treats you like a true special guest. Thank you

Stopped by to pick up a product if been waiting to try. So I asked where it was, and the worker said«are you looking for more volume?» I said yes and if researched the product and I’m finally at Aveda to pick it up. They looked at my hair and said«oh…you shouldn’t try that. I want to put this one in your hair». I said no. She kept pushing and looking at my hair and said I was using the wrong Aveda producers. I picked it the one up I wanted anyway and went to the counter. The worker refused to wait on me and said my associate will help you. The associate looked at me and said«are you looking for more volume». I answered«we’ve been through this and I just want to buy this product.» Why??? I was seriously disappointed in the lack of professionalism being replaced by a sales pitch. I’ve been to other Aveda shops that were very nice. WON’T go back to this one for sure.

Massages are great and I love the way Sylvia does my eyebrows. The cold stones are definitely a bonus. The Salon and Spa are always very clean and tidy. Highly recommend seeing Sylvia for a massage or wax.

Great massage! Sylvia is one of the best! Be sure to ask for her. The makeup products are pretty fantastic, too.

So my hair is done and my I’m looking good but my eyebrows look like full grown caterpillars have decided to hibernate on the upper region of my face. My Fiancé and Iust make a stop before our day truly begins. There it is the answet to my prayers. The ale receptionist was polite and attentive and he was perfect model fore because his eyebrows were on point. Unfortunately he told me his person wasn’t there but Tom was. All I can say is that angels do walk on earth and one of the comes in the form of Tom. So if you’re ever in the need of a magical touch Tom will wave his wand and make you beautiful. Thank you so much Tom.

Today, I had the opportunity to experience a gel manicure and a pedicure with Sabrina. The manicure and pedicure were exceptional. Sabrina was very thorough took her time and made me feel like I was right at home. She took the time to massage my hands and feet as well as wrapped them in hot towels. I stand on my feet all day for work so it was a real treat for my feet. She has years of experiencce and it really shows as my experience with her was phenomenal. If you are looking for a mani or pedi I would suggest you make an appointment with Sabrina. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a relaxing manicure or pedicure in a peaceful environment. I, for one will be seeing Sabrina again. Thank you Sabrina for exceptional and professional service.

I was visiting Minneapolis and needed a manicure, pedicure and blowout. I was staying in a hotel near MOA so decided to see what was available and came upon Progressions Salon and Spa. I loved, loved, loved my manicure and pedicure with Sabrina. She was great and took such care. Admittedly, the pedicure chair is uncomfortable, but it was such a wonderful, relaxing pedicure I did not mind. She also did a fantastic gel manicure. I would highly recommend Sabrina. What I appreciated most is the fact that she knew I was just visiting and would most likely not be back, but she treated me like a valued customer. On the other hand, the blowout was terrible. I will not name the stylist, she was very nice, but either she had no clue how to do a good round brush blowout or because I was a visitor and it was getting near closing, she did not care. She sat me down and asked me what I wanted and I explained I was looking for a little bit of volume and a lot of curl and bounce at the ends. She seemed to understand, but what I got was a lackluster straight blowout and then she flat ironed it even straighter. I should have said something, but by the time I realized she was not going to give me the blowout I had asked for it was too late — my hair was dry. I get blowouts because I like that stylists can give me the great blowout that I cannot do myself. In this case, I would have done a better job myself. What a waste of money. I would recommend this salon for the manicures and pedicures with Sabrina, but I would suggest you ask if the stylist assigned to you knows how to do a good blowout — if that is what you are looking for. Otherwise you may get the stylist I had and regret it.

What a lovely retreat in a place of madness. I you can burl through the Mall of America to get to this Aveda salon it would be worth your time. Although it is a «walk in» salon an appointment would probably be advised. I was lucky enough to be placed with Debra, an experienced stylist with a great amount of skill. I have thick corse hair that seems to give the average stylist a hard time. She cut my long hair into the very short style I showed her and she nailed it. If I ever find myself in MSP again I wouldn’t hesitate to book her.

I had a haircut with Debra and she was AMAZING. She’s super experienced and really listened to what I wanted. The salon also was able to get me in within two hours, which was really nice. It was clean, I was offered a beverage and I was treated like a valued guest the entire time. Will be returning for sure!

I had a haircut with Mary, and it was fantastic. She listened to what I wanted, and as I have curly-ish hair, was careful to cut it so it wouldn’t end up all frizzy and crazy. They’re in the Mall of America, and open late, so it’s definitely a worthwhile stop if you need a haircut.

Let me tell you, I have been to countless hair salons. It’s hit or miss in general. But I have always been provided with top service with AVEDA salons. My experience at Progressions easily falls into my top 5 of all time hair dresser establishments. Usually, it’s certain to expect some flaws while getting your hair cut/styled. This unique salon, however, delivered on every level. Experienced, personable stylists. Flexible scheduling. Warm-welcomes galore. Although Progressions is thousands of miles away from home, this is a place I will always adore. P. S. Hanna knows what she’s doing. She enhanced the already amazing salon service as much as the color in my hair. A+

Groupon offered a $ 25 deal for $ 50 of services — which I promptly snagged. I don’t normally pay over $ 25 for a haircut anyway — and I had some free Groupon cash stored up — so I got the Groupon for free. Sarah, my stylist cost $ 53, so I paid $ 3 + $ 10 tip. She was excellent. I always have such trouble trying to make my hair behave, so I asked her advice on an easy, shorter style that wouldn’t be too much fuss but still stylish. She advised me and gave me a great A-Line Bob. I’ve gotten many compliments at work today! So, if you have the money to spend, I definitely recommend this place. Truly full-service(I was offered water, coffee or tea), friendly and skilled.

I can only really base this review on my stylist, Jessica as I haven’t worked with anyone else or gotten any other services besides cut, color and wax. I was recommended to Jessica a couple of years back. I really wanted to see someone at an Aveda salon since I really love the product. I also prefer seeing someone that can do both cut and color in one sitting, with one person. One of the reasons why I do like Jessica is that I am not a big talker, and Jessica picks up on that. We have enough conversation that it isn’t weird or uncomfortable, but she lets me read and decompress(since I am usually coming from work). My cut is pretty simple but she’s helped me change it up a bit, with ombré hair color and thick bangs. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on her work. She is really good at listening and confirming what I want done with defining the color and cut before she gets started. I appreciate that. She typically works later days and evenings so it works great for me. She is a senior stylist so she does have a higher rate but I think it matches her work. I’d definitely recommend her!

Totally random. I had to go to the Squall to return a pair of crocs(don’t buy crocs online!!) and really needed a brow wax – I got an appt in 10 minutes — with yes.Tom. He did ask me when I had my brows waxed last, I told him 1984– no that’s not true. He did a great job. Then I also ended up getting a really nice shape in hair cut– I needed that too. Totally random and really good service.

I’ve had the best brow doings of my life here, see Tom or Sarah Jane. I redden up badly from waxing and Tom actually tweezed me into shape, turns out I redden up just as much, but how cool is that?

I took my daughter here for her first pedicure(of course I got one too)! They could only do one at a time because they only have one pedi chair, so it took nearly 2 ½ hours, but it was a great pedi. The chair is quite uncomfortable, but the pedi is so nice it’s worth it. A pedi is $ 55, so it’s a bit expensive. If you’re expecting«art» on your toes, they only offer solid color.

I’m from SoCal, working in MN. One week end shopping at MOA, I see the salon and that there was availability for waxing. My brows were out of control and I wasn’t going home for another week. I got in right away(on my way to Nordies!!) and saw Tom. I wasn’t feeling like it was going very well, but I was WAY wrong — Tom did an awesome job! If you are ever there, ask for him! The only thing I didn’t like was that you sit in the hair washing chairs. My local place, I lay on a table(spa like). It’s not very comfortable, but I’ll take a little neck pain to have the same service!

Whoa, the attitude here is real, real bad. Very snotty for a salon that, let’s face it, is next to an Orange Julius. I went with a friend because we got promotional e-mails about a product launch at Aveda salons. The e-mail(from Pop Fizz) specifically mentioned calling ahead to see if the Aveda salon you were going to would offer this one day, free walk-in styling service. Free up-do? Hell yes. I called the day before the promotion and asked, «Really?! This is FREE? You need no appointment?» The woman on the phone was pleasant and welcoming, saying«Absolutely! Just stop on in anytime tomorrow.» Wrong. We showed up and were told«Uh…no. I don’t know where all this is coming from. I’m the manager and no one told me about this promotion. No way can we do that.» Hey, I’ve worked retail. I know things happen, miscommunication, whatever. But really? Really? To be told by the manager, «Well, I’ve never heard of this and I don’t know what you’re talking about. If you want to see if someone back there has time or is willing to do that, but I really don’t think so. I mean I really don’t see how this could work… the person who answered the phone didn’t know what she was talking about and I was sick yesterday.» You know what? You coulda just said I apologize for the miscommunication. End of story and no hard feelings. You’ll get better customer service at the Orange Julius.

I called on a whim one day and scheduled an appointment for a pedicure. I lucked out big time and got in with Avis. You never know what to expect when you go to a new new salon. I’ve stopped in there a few times to buy products when at the mall, but had never had a service before. I was not disappointed! Hands down, this was the best pedi I’ve ever had. Avis was so thorough, it was almost surgical. She has the perfect touch, taking time for extra massage. The aromatherapy is a nice touch. The room is small, very small. I’m glad I’m not claustrophobic. The seat was a bit uncomfortable, but since I was in a pedi-heaven, my ass dealt with it. Avis does hair as well, I haven’t seen her for hair services but can only imagine that she’s just as good!
