The place might not look that great at a glance but don’t judge this book buy it’s cover. I first discovered this eatery a few years ago only righting now because of this establishments consistency. Their food is still as tasty as the first time i was walking buy and they were calling free samples. Deffenaitly gotta try this place for your self.

This is by far the best Thai food I’ve eaten in twin cities. It was my first time at the Mall of America food court and I was struggling in my thoughts what to get — pizza or Thai. A woman called out to me from the Ruby’s Thai kitchen and handed me a toothpick with mango chicken. It was delicious! I didn’t have to think any further and I decided to grab my lunch from here. Thai lo mein and fried rice with mango chicken and spicy bbq chicken in $ 8 inclusive of taxes was a great meal! The food was well cooked, authentic and delicious. Will definitely be eating again when I go to MOA.

There’s a reason you get a large amount of chicken for $ 6.99…it’s bad chicken. Anything can be edible if you fry it and dip it in sugary sauce. May be better than usual fat food standards, but make no mistake this is fast food plain and simple.

This is a 4-star by food court standards, but a 2 star by Thai restaurant standards. This is the place to go for a quick cheap meal at the mall.

Definitely not a top choice in looking for Thai food. It’s in the food court in the mall, but I guess it would do for anyone looking for a quick fix. Too tangy for my taste.

I echo what so many other reviewers have said. This is some of the best mall food court food I’ve had. I’m a big Thai fan, and was expecting to be let down, but this is worth trying. Especially the Mango chicken. It doesn’t get much better than that and Pad Thai. Great food, good taste, and in a mall food court — who would have thought it possible? I highly recommend trying Ruby’s. You won’t be disappointed, except maybe by the frequent line.

Very good fast food place in the Mall of America! This is the place we will eat at again when we go back! So good that I saved my receipt so that I could post a review later and let everyone else know about this place :)

I went here about a year ago on a weekend getaway trip. We were all tired from exploring the mall & decided to get lunch here at the food court. I’ve never had Thai food from a mall food court so I decided to try. They had food warming up in trays that were already made. Kinda like what Panda Express does. Service was fast & friendly. The food was good for fast Thai food at a mall.

If you’ve been to the Mall of America, there’s a good chance that you’ve taken a sample of the mango chicken from Ruby Thai(they hand them out on tooth picks all day) I frequent MOA and honestly, if I’m not eating at Tucci Benucch, I’m eating at this place in the food court. It’s perfect in every way: price, portion size, quality, flavor… It’s $ 6.99 average for a HUGE portion of a noodle/rice side with 2HUGE entrees. I usually get the lo mein side with mango chicken and sub the other entrée for wontons. I’ve had a hard time finding decent lo mein in the Twin Cities but this is by far the best I’ve found. Not heavily saturated in sauce, not overly soft noodles like at Leeann Chin; the consistency is always perfect. Same goes for the Mango chicken. Not only is the flavor on point, but it is deliciously crispy EVERY. TIME. How?! How is it both saucy AND crispy?! Witchcraft. If you’re too cool for generic Americanized asian food, they also have a variety of fancy pants dishes here: pad Thai, basil beef, bang bang shrimp, bbq spicy chicken, bourbon chicken, some veggie stuff, and customizable Phở. But honestly, the generic stuff here is superb. Like, I don’t even eat meat usually but dat chicken…

Mango chicken taste like a variation of orange chicken Bourbon chicken is a barbecued grilled chicken Yellow noodles I would say is curry type chicken which taste more of the Indian style flavor. All the food was edible and we enjoyed the chickens but felt we rather have tried the fried rice or pad thai noodles. Can’t beat $ 6.99 for a plate full of food though

Good beef noodle soup. If you’re not a big eater, you could probably get full walking by and eating their samples they push on passersby. Probably need about 15 passes.

I was very skeptical about this place — who expects good Thai food from a steam table in a mall food court? — but decided to try it based on the Unilocal reviews anyway. I’m so glad I did! The food here really was outstanding. I did a two-entrée combo with the mango chicken, the Thai chicken curry, and noodles, and all three items were terrific. I’m ordinarily not a mango fan, and was worried that it might be overly sweet, but after a free sample, I knew I had to have more. And the curry was pleasantly spicy without being too much. The noodles had a subtle, delicate flavor — at first bite I thought they were going to be bland, but as I ate more, I got more and more of the flavor. I ended up liking this place so much that I went back a couple of days later and got the same thing. The portion sizes are generous and it’s a good value for your money. I’m also very picky about finding fat or gristle in chicken, but I didn’t find any in either of my visits. It was all better-quality ingredients than you usually find in a mall food court. I was happy with my visits here and would definitely go back.

I was with my friend for a one day visit to MSP. We went to the mall to see if I could get my hair done. Instead, he said I am going to drop if I do not eat something. He is from Jamaica and lived in London for a long time so he is a little more particular about his food. So as we were walking around I found Ruby Thai. He said, yes, yes, let’s go there. Well, it is located in the food court. So it is a little surprising to find it as a take away. It was amazing food! He was happy and so was I! I love Thai food and this was top notch. We both got several items as well as a side dish of Pad Thai noodles. The Pad Thai does not have any chicken or shrimp in it, but has a Shrimp base. It was good. The yellow curry(with Chicken) was excellent, but could of used a bit more potato. I would recommend this place any day. Plus the price was right. We found a nice quiet table nearby. So what is not to love!

Salty. Penny pinching service such as no sauce for spring roll and nasty styrofoam plates/cups. Wish I didn’t fall trap to the other reviews, I hated this lunch.

Oh, wow. Yes, it’s true. It’s a food court restaurant, and it’s really good, and a good bargain. I just happened to notice a review for it on my Unilocal front page, and it just so happened that I was going to be driving right past the MoA later that day. When I showed up they immediately offered me a sample of the Mango Chicken(very tasty) and something else which I forget now, but it was also tasty. I passed on the Mango Chicken though, because I had a lot of work to do the rest of the day and I didn’t want to get sluggish. Ultimately I chose the Lemon Grass Chicken, because it looked a lot different than that dish usually does, and the Thai Salmon, because I was trying to keep it light. Be warned, it will cost you extra if you choose a seafood dish. It says so up on the board but it’s fine print. Having said that, I ended up not caring because it was a very generous portion of salmon, it tasted great and it was different than any other salmon I’ve ever eaten anywhere. Anyway, the real star of the show was my chicken. It was nothing at all like Vietnamese Lemon Grass Chicken. It was a coconut milk based sauce and it tasted an awful lot like Bangkok Cuisine’s Masaman Curry, which believe me is a huge compliment, even though there was barely any lemon grass flavor in it. So yeah that right there should make it clear that this place is awesome; i.e. even though it wasn’t very lemon grass-y, the shit was still so good that I’m giving this place 4 stars without hesitation. I drive by the MoA twice a week while I’m working(I deliver various free publications across the southern metro), so basically it’s a shoo-in that I am already a regular here, and I have no doubt that I will soon be writing a 5 star follow-up review or two. The only bad thing is that I didn’t finish it all. I got home that evening and put my leftovers in the fridge, and then I lost power for two whole days after that crazy storm. A very sad waste. P. S. — I should mention that even the fried rice is more than decent. The only other place I’ve ever had good fried rice out of a steam table was this one Chinese buffet in Riverplace.(On the west end; top floor and close to Hennepin.) It’s been gone for at least ten years and I can’t remember the name of it for the life of me, but it was a damn good buffet. If anyone knows the place I’m talking about I’d greatly appreciate a private msg. Who knows, maybe they opened up shop somewhere else.

Best of the Best(even if it is from the food court). I have eaten in many restaurants and food courts. People undermine food courts and innappropriately mistake them for poor quality. I can reassure you I have gone to restauranst that are far worse then that of a food court. What people take for granted is how good food is prepared. Instead, they pay attention to the ambiance and the environment of a restaurant. Simply take the grilled chicken and compare it’s taste to that of a 5* restaurant. A 5* restaurant might have taken the time to slap it on a skewer and charge you $ 5 more and you buy it regardless of taste but because of presentation. For a food booth, this place has the freshest soups I have ever had, yes I had all 4 variations of the soups on their menu and flavor, quality and texture are consistent. However, I wish they would bring back the stuffed meatballs, filled with ground meat, herbs and garlic, that of which they used to serve with the seafood noodles. Highly recommend you to try the soups. Overall quality is good and variety is great as well. They focus on quality, not quantity here. If you want more choices go to panda or something.

The sample of mango chicken lured me in, but the rest of the amazing food is what has kept me coming back here time after time. This is easily the best fast food place in the whole mall! All of the food tastes very fresh and authentic… I especially love the lemongrass chicken! My only complaint is that the level of spiciness is not always consistent, which can sometimes make for an unpleasant spicy surprise. If you’re looking for some good Thai food on a budget, this is your place!

I’m reviewing food at a food court? You bet, ’cause it’s good stuff! I ‘m hooked on their grilled chicken noodle soup — it’s so fresh! I love this soup — always filled with tons of fresh bean sprouts, fresh steamed Bak choy and generous portions of delicious grilled chicken. It’s more like a stew than a noodle soup. It’s my favorite go-to place whenever I’m @ the MOA(besides Chatime — which I’ve also reviewed), and yes, I have soup even in hot weather, because it’s that good! It’s really hard for me to go to Asian places(and I’m Asian!) because of MSG and high sodium content in many dishes in Asian Restaurant, which I am sensitive to. When I’m in Japan, I’m always cooking my own food.haha. The price is good too, @ food court prices. I can enjoy mall food that’s DELICIOUS, YUMMY, FILLING and SAFE! Well for me anyways… I give them high marks for that. Thanks Ruby Thai Kitchen !

Went to MOA to see Experience China exhibit, of course we need to eat :) I have decided to go to Ruby Thai Kitchen coz I was hungry for Asian food especially for soup. Lucky me they have wonton(+ noodles) soup. They gave us sample of bourbon chicken. And we ordered it. I saw chicken curry looked very good. I got it too with fried rice. Now how do I eat 2 portions? share it with my husband :) their noodles were good, their wonton was having shrimp so watch out if you had seafood allergy. The broth was tasty, lo mein and bourbon chicken were good too. Chicken curry was delicious, spicy but delish, never seen carrot cut that big, but tender. Fried rice was good. Overall everything were good. Fresh and not like asian fast food. Definitely a place to eat when I in MOA.
