I don’t give out five stars very often. But this place has great sushi and really good side items like their darkened edemame. Nice service, but located in a funny spot next to Nordstrom’s in the mall of America. You won’t be disappointed in the sushi here

By far my favorite place to grab some sushi. The sushi is always fresh and the customer service far out paces any other like restaurant around. I’ve been coming to town for years and it has always been a welcome place to stop and enjoy a bite.

Ate their for the first time tonight. Ambience is «quick sushi vibe,» perfect for a very quick bite after shopping, but nothing special. Service is mediocre… everyone seemed very«new.»(I.e.: we had to ask for soy sauce and silverware, host had no idea where to put us and there were just 6 other people there…). Food was also just«okay.» Not as good as their MOA spot, and just average in comparison to other spots in the area. Couldn’t justify the $ 17 Kamasutra roll sitting in the middle of the mall. I would compare to a Byerlys sushi, maybe?

Not blown away. The tuna didn’t seem all that fresh and the sushi was cut rather unevenly. I had to ask for extra wasabi and the little dish they provide when you sit down(really?!? Why wouldn’t you include it on the actual plate of sushi?!?) is nothing more than a tiny little dollop. They now offer phở but use MSG. That is cheating. I understand the owner is from Laos so that explains the phở, but MSG??? Nothing spectacular.

About what you might expect sushi to be like served in a mall in Minneapolis. Had a variety of sushi rolls, but they were all rather bland and boring. Even the plate presentations were dull. The shrimp tempura was greasy and heavy. The service was mediocre at best. The oddest thing was despite the restaurant being virtually empty, the server repeatedly kept trying to seat another party right on top of us. Three times the attempt was made, and each time the people being seated asked to sit elsewhere. Why cramp your patrons when you have the space? The discomfort level makes this a restaurant I would never recommend.

This place has some really good freshly made sushi. The rolls are a good price. I highly recommend the fury kick roll. I also tried the PHO. It’s basically a soup with onions, bean sprouts, phở meatballs and various other items. Very yummy and filling. In an odd way the soup kind of tasted like licorice, but it wasn’t a very strong taste if you’re someone who doesn’t like licorice. All in all the best place for sushi in the mall. Prices are a bit high but I don’t think it’s a deal breaker.

My husband and I are frequent dinners here and it’s the BEST sushi in town! I’m bit of food snob, especially growing up in Chicago being exposed to variety of best restaurants. We have dinned best of sushi cuisines but find ourselves always coming back here. Their food is fresh, delicious, great portions, innovative menu and friendly staff who are excellent in giving best service. It’s hard to believe a Resturant like this is at a mall! We come here for our date nights, anniversaries and birthdays. I call it a happy place. The sushi chef are also great at serving creative yummy desserts on special occasions! Come try it out! It’s the best! As I’m writing this we are having our weekly date night at Tiger Sushi! Every weekend we come to our«happy place»!

When Tiger was in Uptown it was decent which is the only reason I would even attempt sushi in a mall… nightmare ensued! The Scorpion roll was passable and the edamame was tasty with a chili sauce but the Suzuki and the Dynamatie roll were inedible… never again!

Tiger Sushi is excellent ! I have had sushi all over the U.S. As well as in Japan and this place provides an excellent experience, from beginning to end, every single time. Try the Scorpion Roll! The philly is also great. For those wary of raw fish the Crunchy Roll is excellent. Love spice? Try the Screaming Sauce– the perfect blend of habernero spice meets sweet mango! Mellissa, Rachael and Taylor are great servers and ensure a friendly, thorough customer service experience every time.

Too expensive. Not real Japanese food. But I like it anyway. My family calls me a sushi snob. I wear that label with pride. I enjoy their twist on Japanese food. Their rolls are creative and tasty. Americanized Japanese food but still quite good. They really need to improve their sake selection. Nothing better than letting a family of three women shop at MOA while I hang out and drink sake. Otokoyama(男山) is about their best. I don’t tthink they have any daiginjo sake. But while the girls shop, I make do. Kampai!

I’ve been to their uptown location and had take out in their previous moa spot and overall the quality of sashimi has been consistently… ok. Today was the first time I ventured away from sushi with the«crazy soup». It was… interesting. Curry and coconut with thin rice noodles was something I’ve never seen. My boyfriend is not a big fan of fusion and now I see why. There were only a few pieces of shrimp and mushroom in the watery soup. It might have been better if it was creamier. Our server was polite but forgot our water. She remembered after we got our food and asked us how it tasted and if we needed anything else. I could see how this location is better for them since it is right next to Nordstrom’s which would probably be a good match clientele wise. Other than the convenience factor I wouldn’t make a special trip here.

Love love this place! Amazing tiger sauce! Order the crunchy roll! And if you can find beef tataki on the menu its a must. As well as Crazy Shrimp! I could list for days. Worth stopping at the mall just for sushi!

I love sushi, and if you love good sushi you will go somewhere else. We ordered a little bit of everything and honestly didn’t care for any of it. I am not the pickiest sushi eater, the simpler the better. I won’t go back here. To many other good options even at the Mall. Try Masu or Crave.

Tiger Sushi used to be our«go-to» sushi bar. Since their move to the 1st level of MOA by Nordstrom, we have noticed a steady decline in the quality of preparation and service. On two recent visits, we ordered one of our favorites, the Crispy Crunchy Tuna & Salmon Roll, only to be served a chewy, over fried roll with terrible flavor. The first time it happened we sent it back and assumed it was just a fluke. When it happened again last Friday night(with almost no patrons in the restaurant), we made the decision to never go back. Tiger Sushi was a favorite place to take out of town business guests when they were located in the small rotunda at W2. Sad to see what used to be some of the best sushi in town just go down the tubes so quickly with a staff that just doesn’t seem to care. So disappointing. ..

Great option in the MOA! Lucky 13 is a unique take on a special roll with seaweed salad on top of salmon with tempura shrimp and avocado inside. YUM! One star off bc Gyoza is overpriced and really not that great. Roll was expensive too! But would get it again bc it was that good.

I have to say, I’m always skeptical when they have real sit down restaurants in malls, but this was actually good sushi. I had edamame, a shrimp spring roll, and a scorpion roll, and all were very good. The server was also very attentive, and checked on my regularly, keeping my water glass full. All in all, the best choices conveniently locate to the airport hotels are in MOA… I’ll be back.

TIP: Order the Crispy Curried Salmon Roll! No, actually order two of them! Originally occupying some pretty prime real estate close to the center of the Mall of America, Tiger Sushi has since relocated to a more modest location, on the first floor next to Nordstrom. But don’t let the lower-key, tucked-away location dissuade you — Tiger Sushi remains a great option in the sea of so-so fare at MOA. Compared to food court sushi, yes — the prices are a bit higher than what you would expect, but the quality is very good and in the end the food is worth what you’re paying. On my last visit, a friend and I shared a number of appetizers and rolls. I started with the miso soup. The soup was nice, warm and salty — with green onions and tofu cubes swimming among a healthy serving of tempura parsley that, though somewhat soggy, gave it a really nice texture. The broth itself was very flavorful. I was a bit surprised that for $ 4.50, the serving was pretty small, but it did give me room to enjoy the other dishes we ordered. The crispy curried salmon egg roll is very popular and there’s a good reason why — they blend some very interesting flavors, with salmon, cabbage, green onion and cream cheese with a curry mixture, deep fried and served with a creamy coconut milk/greek yogurt sauce. It is heavenly! If you order anything, order this. For $ 6, you get one roll, so order a few. Tiger ceviche — excellent. A good mix of fish with the fresh bite of onion, tomatoes and cilantro. Served with a huge order of fried wontons. The shrimp spring roll was just ok. Actually, I wasn’t a big fan. They put their own spin on a spring roll, and unfortunately, I think they missed the target. The shrimp was scant and the flavor was almost completely obscured by the copious amounts of rice. Yes, rice. Not rice noodles — rice. TIP: Skip it. My friend insisted that we get an order of the«Darkened Edamame,» and I’m glad we did. The edamame is sauteed in a dark, sweet garlic sauce and the result is very tasty, albeit a bit messy to eat. We also ordered the Kamasutra Roll — a packed roll that features salmon, mango, jalapenos, and mango on the inside and yellowtail and salmon on the outside. My friend was a little worried that the jalepenos would provide too much heat. Our waitress didn’t think it would be too bad, but wow — there were healthy chunks of jalapeño in the roll, so she ended up picking them out. I ate them and had a fire in my mouth. To wrap things up, we went with an order or mochi — three balls of red bean ice cream wrapped in a mochi shell. Ummm… yeah, probably the most disappointing mochi I have ever had. The mochi itself, which should have a firm but somewhat elastic texture, was stiff and flavorless. The ice cream itself was ok, but overall it was pretty bad. Maybe we got an old batch? I don’t know, but I do know that I won’t be ordering mochi here ever again. Overall, there were some hits and misses. With the curried eggrolls, soup and Kamasutra alone, I would have easily given Tiger Sushi 5 stars. Unfortunately, the spring roll and mochi were utterly forgettable, so I dropped just one star. I have no problem recommending Tiger Sushi — just be careful what you order! I know that I was complaining about the prices earlier, but with all the food we ordered(and we were stuffed!), the bill was still under $ 60. Not too bad. The service was very friendly and efficient!

I suppose since they moved locations and have new items, I should write a new review! Hands down my favorite place for sushi, and actually favorite restaurant! I’m 20, and I’ve been eating here since I was about 10 or 12. I ALWAYS get a crunchy roll, and I’m pretty sure the chefs know this! SOGOOD. Otherwise I get the winter roll which is their second best roll… Everything’s too good. I’ve probably had every appetizer on the menu, and my top 3 favorites are Gyoza potstickers, scallop purses, and darkened edamame. Never overlooked or undercooked, perfect. I sit at either the bar or the seats, the sushi chefs are super friendly and outgoing! Sometimes they Surprise me with a delicious mini dessert made of fruit such as pineapple, strawberries and fried banana, & they make designs so it’s super cool! For the new menu items I’ve only tried the red curry and the tataki tacos so far… SUPERYUMMYOMG. I’d definitely eat them both again, the red curry definitely did satisfy my and my bf’s cravings. The red curry is a big bowl though, so you could probably order an app and a small roll depending on how big your stomach is. I could go on forever honestly. I always come back because of the great service! I usually ask to sit with Melissa or taylor, very friendly!

Another delicious sock-it-to-me roll from the brilliant mind of Victor! I haven’t ordered a regular sushi roll off of the menu for a long time. Their sushi chefs are so talented, it’s best to have them whip you up something off the top of their heads.
