This was my go-to video store in Bloomington while I went to IU. They have a great selection of new and old movies. Plus they’re open until 2AM!!! So awesome when you’re bored late at night and want to rent a movie. I would go to Top Ten every Friday when my girlfriend came to visit on the weekends. We’d rent 5 movies and watch them the whole weekend. It was always fun to wander around the store with her, figuring out what we’d watch. The staff is very nice, and you can tell they love movies and working there. They’re always polite and helpful and having funny conversations or watching a good movie. Top Ten also has ice cream, soda, snacks, and candy. It’s a unique mix, and not your typical Supermarket checkout line fare of snickers and crap like that. They actually have a refrigerated case stocked full of ice cream treats.

Great place has many videos you can’t get at other stores, foreign/independent. The workers and owners are awesome to deal with.

Soooo shady! This place took me to collections over the past week for a bogus late fee. I somehow had to pay ~$ 40 for bringing videos back late over 3 years ago. I don’t believe these were late, and I can’t believe that fees on two videos cost that much. Without getting a hold of me over phone(even though they had my number) it went to collections. The owner was very nasty with me over the phone as I pleaded logically that this is a terrible experience for someone who rented there for a while and had always returned everything. She also charged me $ 3 for paying her via credit card over the phone(unbelievable).

Gotta offset that 1-star review immediately. Top Ten is a staple in Bloomington. The selection might not be that of your Blockbusters, Hollywoods and more family-oriented stores, but look what’s happened to most of them! For a store this size, it’s got a good selection of new blockbusters and more obscure titles. Lots of great independents, documentaries, TV-on-DVD options. And they carry porn so you don’t have to be stalked by creeps at the College Ave. Bookstore when you want to get frisky with your DVD player. Perfect liberal college town selection and fun for all ages! And even the new releases are usually 3-day rentals and catalog are 5-day. Pretty reasonable if you ask me. No video store is ever going to have everything you want unless you want least-common-denominator flicks, but that’s what Red Box is for. The dudes who work here are a little in their own world at times, but they’re always ready to search a title and help when you need it. And they have lots of snack items from popcorn to Ben & Jerry’s and are open until 2 a.m. or so, so it’s perfect for both families AND stoners who don’t get off work ’til midnight. Another good note: When I moved back to Bloomington after more than a decade away, they still had my name and customer number in their system and welcomed me back with no new membership fees. I cannot say the same for the now-defunct dinosaurs like Blockbuster who looked at me like I was crazy when I suggested I shouldn’t have to pay a new membership fee. Vive le Top Ten!

Video stores are a dying breed, so I feel lucky to have such a great selection of movies right around the corner. Redbox’s selection sucks, go to Top 10.
