This is a awful store, I try to not visit because of several factors. No knowledgeable staff, it is not clean, the selection of fresh produce is poor at best. Personally rather spend more to shop in clean well stocked store with happy empolyees.

Today I had a great experience at this Bloomington Walmart location! I had to leave suddenly due to a medical emergency and make a trip to the doctor. I didn’t have time to check out but didn’t want to just give up all that time spent either. The CSMs Chris and Lisa and the door man were super helpful making sure my groceries were secured up front and were waiting on my husband to pick up after work. They also went above and beyond helping him price match all the items as I had brought several ads! They really went a long way to provide outstanding customer service and I truly hope they received the recognition they deserve! Thanks guys!

Sad for me to give such a high rating to a walmart but this is a good one. Tons of fresh food and a subway and other items, with lots of sales and amazing prices. Clean, with friendly service and a large parking lot as well. All the usual things you expect out of a walmart product wise but with nicer people and a cleaner store.

Ok – given that everyone hates Walmart and they still seem to make billions because they price stuff so cheap, I still give this place a one. The parking lot is an awful nightmare with magic deathly one-ways that never have enough signage. I get how to miss the occasional pedestrian(when so inclined to be nice), but a head-on car is one not easy to dodge. Then you get to the acres of undecorated earth-tone-tastic agony that people call«grocery shopping.» The produce sucks… just dont get it. The boxed and canned goods are cheaper than anywhere which is why people go. Yes…they also«have everything» from photographers to haircuts to vacation packages to oil changes to diapers… so the convenience is there. Its great for people who dont leave their house but once a month for the necessities(and the lack of humanity/overabundance of atavism is obvious)

The horror continues. The aforementioned oafish dude’s name is Mark. And he’s terrible. And they always make him work in the Pharmacy or the Automotive Department where customers are most likely to be EXTRA stressed out that they are at a stupid Walmart. My BF witnessed this Mark sarcastically belittling and being generally rude to an Asian couple last week, but still I had to go here because of my needs, my poverty and proximity to my house. And it was my turn to be spoken to as if I’m stupid. I walked up to the counter and dude doesn’t smile or greet me, just blurts out: «Oil change or tires???» When I answered both, he snapped, «Well, it’s going to be over two hours!» in a tone implying I somehow should have known this and was stupid for even trying. Then he just stared as I stared back at him. No suggestions of how this would work, how they could assist me, IF they could assist me. When I asked if I could make an appointment he said no, they don’t take appointments. This is news to me considering I went in once a few months ago on a Saturday and was told by this same guy that my wait was due to «people who had appointments.» When I asked«Can I leave my car here and someone can work on it tomorrow?» he answered«No.» Not«I’m sorry, that’s not possible.» Just«no.» When I stared confusedly and muttered something like«this is ridiculous», he followed up with, «Well, you CAN, but we’re not responsible for it.» Well, that truly makes me feel as if you give a shit, dude. Look, I know Walmart is hellish in general and likely a terrible place to work, but don’t take it out on me. I’ve worked sucky retail and food service jobs and never felt the need to be a total apathetic dick to people. As mentioned, this guy has been working in the two departments most likely to get customers who are stressed out and he does not have the sympathetic or helpful nature required to do so. It boggles my mind how unfriendly, unprofessional and perpetually befuddled this guy seems to be. Also, in continuing my rant about how awful this place is, since I was already there I decided to make some work purchases(how I wish we could get an account elsewhere). Alas, during my visit it was nearly impossible to navigate the large aisle between the Hardware and Home sections due to stocking going on. While I understand that stocking must occur, every pathway between the displays was blocked with carts, boxes, workers, dollies, pallets, etc. I’m not sure 5:30PM is a great time for this since it’s rush hour, the place is packed and customers likely don’t want to have to walk across the whole store to get to an aisle that’s only a few feet away. But I guess the operating theory is, «Just pile it all up out there and they’ll come for it. If they don’t want it, they can climb over it.» To end on a positive note: Of the six workers I asked questions to during my visit, two were actually helpful. So thanks to the one-third of Bloomington Walmart workers who give a shit. I’m sorry you have to work with all those idiots! Also: After this experience I vowed never to give Walmart’s automotive department money again so I went to Tire Barn where I was IMMEDIATELY assisted by someone FRIENDLY and who fixed my issue ATNOCHARGE because it was«only a tiny leak.» So good service is still around after all! Just not here.

What are people complaint about? I’ve never had a problem with customer service. In my experience, the employees are always nice and helpful.

It’s a Wal-Mart. Not much more to it than that.

For god’s sake, don’t ever go here. The customer service makes Kmart seem like paradise.

If you like saving money and being surrounded by malodorous, angry cretins, Walmart is the place for you! Don’t worry about the fact that you’re helping to destroy the American economy: you’re saving money! (Insider’s tip: For a real treat, hang out in the bathrooms for a few minutes.)
