Stir fry came floating in grease. Noodles have way too much sugar added. Otherwise the food is fairly decent for what it is.

Have eaten here in the past and were happy with the overall experience. Just went back around a month or so ago, and it is not what it once was. The fried Taro was cold, the duck breast my wife ordered was anything but a waste of money, and their version of drunken noodles was leftover reheat crap, and for some reason it took forever. Not busy either. Ah well. Hope they get better, but right now it’s fallen very far down on every thing. Not going back.

PROS: Ornamental Thai atmosphere with statues and music. The chief is Thai. The two excellent dishes I had are Massaman beef curry and Coconut Chicken Soup also known as Tom Kha Gai. There may be other excellent dishes, particularly the curry dishes and chicken Satay. CONS: Service feels slow. I tried 5 dishes and 4 soups. I would give 1 dish and 1 soup an A(the two items I recommended above), and the rest that I tried either a B or C(maybe D+). CONCLUSION: If you know exactly what you want and know that it’s great(like the two dishes I listed), and want to spend time(eg. on a date) in a nice atmosphere or do take out, Bloomin’ Thai is a great choice. NOTE: John’s Asian in Danville is only about 15 minutes away and specializes in Thai dishes with good reviews, although the atmosphere is plain:

Very disappointing. When we arrived this evening(11÷29÷15) at 6pm, there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant and we were seated in a corner with 2 drafty windows. We also immediately noticed that the high back chairs were very uncomfortable. They feel like they’re actually pushing you forward. Our waitress was slow to take our drink order and slow to deliver. We started with appetizers: calamari and dumplings. For entrees, I ordered the ginger duck and my g/f ordered the curry duck. It took about 15 minutes for the calamari to come out, which seemed a little long, especially since they weren’t busy. The calamari was ok, a little undercooked imo because it was a little rubbery at times. The sweet and spicy sauce it comes with was delicious. It took another 20 – 30 minutes for our dumplings to come out. During this time, 2 other couples came in along with several people picking up to-go orders. The dumplings were burned around the edges, and a couple of them were burned on the top or bottom… you could smell the burn more than anything else. They had the look, taste, and texture of something you’d buy in the frozen food section at the grocery store. We’ve now been here for nearly an hour and we’ve had 2 appetizers and our waitress had only been to the table once to check on us and our drinks. Meanwhile, the 2 parties who came in after us are eating their entrees, along with several more people who picked up to-go orders. 1 hour and 10 minutes after our order wad taken, we decided we waited long enough. I wanted to pay our bill and leave, but the waitress was no where to be found. A few minutes later she appeared and I asked for the check. She said our food was ready to come out, but at that point we didn’t care. We just wanted to go. She brought the check and said that the reason for the wait is because duck takes longer to prepare. True as this may be, I’ve never waited over an hour for duck. More importantly, had she been an effective and attentive waitress, she would have told us when we ordered that it would be a longer than usual wait for our food. Any half decent restaurant and/or server will let you know something like this. Service: Awful, slow, inattentive. Apps: Bad. Entrée: ?? Probably still cooking for all I know. We heard very food things about this place from several friends, but we certainly didn’t get anything that even came close to meeting expectations. No intentions of giving them a second chance.

Great food! So tasty ! Best Thai food ever. Their hours are weird. Check their hours before you go. Try their spring roll! Mind blowing spring rolls!

I can’t comment on the food, because the owner(?) wouldn’t seat us at 7:30pm on Sunday night. There were only 4 people in the restaurant. We walked in, and the owner came from the back, looked surprised and asked us if he could help us. We said we’d like a table for four. He said it was a private club. I expected this having read previous reviews on Unilocal. So I said«No problem, we can pay the membership fee.». He then said we should call next time and he couldn’t seat us, and we had to leave. Well, there won’t be a next time. Really strange. It was me and my wife(who is hispanic) and our two teenagers. We were well-dressed and sober. As we left, he flipped over the«Open» sign to say«Closed». Just a really wierd experience.

Decent Thai food, really the only Thai option in Bloomsburg that we could find as we trekked back east from upstate NY. Prices seemed fair for the quality and value. One major downfall — the service. There was one front of the house employee that handled everything — bus, host, wait, food run, take out orders. There were five tables dining there when we left(we got there right when they opened at 5) and everyone was looking for the front of house person to either fill drinks, take dinner orders, bring glasses(it’s byo, btw), etc. I’m not sure if the restaurant is usually short staffed. It was a summer Monday night so it could’ve been a fluke as it relates to staff to guest ratio, but it could also be a recurring theme as several Unilocalers noted the bad service. If you aren’t in a rush and bring your own booze, you should have a decent experience.

I just love this place! The Pad Thai is hands down the best I’ve ever had. It is a tiny BYOB that requires a membership($ 1.00) because there is only one shared restroom… silly reason. It is authentic & I hear the owners travel to Thailand for their spices. A little hidden gem in Bloomsburg. not the be missed!

Authentic Thai food. Expect to wait a while but that is only because they make entrees to order! Worth the wait.

After being spoiled by years of downright heavenly Thai food in Seattle, it’s so unbelievably nice to find something comparable on the East Coast!

Delicious food! We ordered take out to bring to our hotel while we were in town with kids. The portion sizes are great, very authentic, great flavor. Super good. Note that it is cash only.

Food was ok, but all seemed to have the same Thai chili sauce used on everything(it was a great sauce but monotone across two apps and two meals) and wasn’t enough to justify the lack of service. Our meals came out so far apart(almost a half hour, seriously) that we ended up splitting my meal and taking hers to go.

Best Thai food ever. I currently live near NYC and, despite the endless options for Thai, catch myself considering making the 4 hour drive to Bloomsburg for Bloomn’ Thai. The flavors are just unbeatable. And, it is also very reasonably priced! The service can be a bit iffy and weird. Call ahead to make a reservation and become a lifetime«member» for $ 1. I never had a truly bad experience with the staff though so I think it is still well worth checking it out for the food!

Very small place, not for large families esp one with kids. Surprisingly the food was great! Will come back for more. PS: stay away from thai ice it’s more like sugar syrup.

Thai food in Bloomsburg? Yea! Great Thai food at reasonable prices. Small dining area and would recommend making reservations for a large group. Never had a complaint about any specific dish. I will say if you want your dish spicey, ask for extra spicey. This establishment has been here for at least a decade, and a great place to try Thai food if you never had it before.

We were on our way through Pennsylvania and having read positive reviews and that they are supposedly open until 9, we decided to stop in Bloomsburg to have dinner here. It took us some time to find this place, but we still arrived at about 7:30. When we came in, there was noone there to greet us, and nothing to suggest that we should seat ourselves. So we waited for about 5 – 10 minutes until finally, someone came out only to tell us that they were closed. Disappointed, we thanked him and left. As we were walking away, it occurred to us that three things didn’t add up — 1) Multiple websites show them closing at 9pm and it was only 7:30, 2) Their«open» sign was still on, and 3) Another group seemed to be waiting for food. So my fiancée called them(since they might have recognized my voice) asked how late they were open. The person on the phone said 8pm. We had been lied to. We later found out that this place usually requires a membership and a reservation. If that was the issue, they could have told us that. Instead, I’m left to wonder if the person we spoke to was trying to leave early by refusing customers, or worse, discriminating against out-of-towners. Whatever the case may be, the fact that staff members feel they can get away with lying to customers is not a good sign for this restaurant.

Good Thai food in a small college town Where there’s not much ethnic food to be found Service is slow, so you’ll be there for some time You’ll need a «membership» but it’s not like Amazon prime It’s $ 1 to join, and I believe it’s for anyone Delicious food and nice décor, sure to be fun.

This is the ONLY restaurant worth going to in Bloomsburg. As a native of this tiny town, I can attest to its profound lack of dining establishments, save loathsome chains and vile local joints. For those of us who are not contented with tired chicken fingers, Bloomin’ Thai is a godsend. Yes, the building and«dining club» concept are somewhat unorthodox but you will get over that once you are indulging in savory spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, and thai tea. The pad see ew is my favorite dish. There are no ethnic grocery stores in Bloom and I really crave flat noodles when I am visiting. Bloomin’ Thai satisfies my cravings and makes for divine leftovers. I do recommend placing an order for pickup, as in-house service can lag. Having lived in NYC and Philly, I genuinely feel this place gives a lovely profile of Thai cuisine. Extremely good prices for portion size. Those who are used to the traditional preparations may find the flavors slightly watered down for the masses. I highly recommend Bloomin’ Thai if you are in the area and need a break from all the generic restaurants nearby.

Bloomin’ Thai is hands down THEBEST ethnic food you will find in all of Bloomsburg. Granted, I have yet to try the new sushi place that opened up on Main St but for now, my statement stands. You might not be greeted with open arms and I’d say they have to work on their customer service skills. Food times can also be slow but that is understood when you can peek into the kitchen and see that there are never more than two people working and sometimes just the owner herself is preparing everything. It’s like you entered her home kitchen and arrived prior to it all being ready, but the wait will be oh-so-worthit. The location is also in the midst of an old home and there are some rooms that were actually a living room at one point in the house. As long as you aren’t claustrophobic, you won’t even mind. Around 10 years ago when they first opened up, there was ZOMGHUGEFRONTPAGENEWSCONTROVERSY! How can a restaurant be open in town without *gasp* two bathrooms for the sexes? Well, that’s the town rule so the owner was clever enough to get around the statute and call his restaurant a «club», thereby allowing it to be open and skirt the law. Touché Bloomin’ Thai, touché. So yes on to the food. OK, do I really need to talk about it? I’ve had over 10 different items here throughout the years and EVERYTHING, I mean everything, is absolutely incredible. If I had to critique anything, I’d say I’ve had better pad thai because the noodles were soggy the last time I had it. Get the spicy calamari to start unless you’re a complete wuss because it will bite back. The Bloomin’ Garlic really stands out for me and is my favorite dish. Also, the coconut curry with tofu/chicken is my second favorite. The desserts seem a bit overpriced but you’d have to travel to Wilkes-Barre to find fried ice cream elsewhere. Save yourself the $ 15 in gas and just order it here. Ah yes, I also can’t forget it’s BYOB and nothing goes better than a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio than Bloomin’ Garlic Chicken, OMNOMONOM *GULP* OMONOMONOM. Skip the local Chinese buffets that can get you sick, this is the real deal.
