I love Blowing Rock! It’s a beautiful, clean, small town with nearly as many foodies as outdoorspeople. Some of my favorite spots include the pool, the candle-makers’ shop, the playground, Kilwins, the views, the curvy roads, the blue ridge parkway, oh… The list goes on and on. It’s a beautiful town with lovely people. Story street grille and Jimmy Crippin’s are great spots to try, if they’re still around. You can’t go wrong with any store you choose!

A town with abundant wealth trying to appear cute and quaint. It succeeds and the town is cute and quaint, wonderful for a stroll down its Main Street where folks and the town have insisted upon staying in a 40’s — 50’s building décor. It’s a nice place to visit and I’m certain a nice place to live though I would think many of its legacy inhabitants sold out to the vacation home folks long long ago.

Romantic! Just to get there the Drive is pretty Romantic once you start getting close! Fog can be pretty unpredictable and can«roll-in» very unexpectedly… On a clear day or clear part of the day views are very nice! Right beside the Blue Ridge Parkway, easy to access when it is Open! «Village-ish» «Main-Stretch» or what I would call the Cool Part! Art in the Park is an Outdoor Art Event, one Saturday each month May though October, can get very Lookalota Crowded and Blowing Rock can get Busy anytime the weather is anything but Frozen! A Pool! Cool Public Pool was more Cool before they added all the Extras some years ago!

This is one of my favorite small towns. It has been a resort type mountain destination for many years before my first visit in the 70’s. The town is located in a prime location, perched on the edge of an endless mountain vista. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and things to do in the small beautiful main street. Outdoor adventures wait steps away. Blowing Rock makes a very good base for a trip to the mountains.

Great mountain town WNC. Near to blue ridge parkway, skiing, hiking, Moses Cone Manor, Bass Lake park, trails, Price Lake. Great restaurants, lots of fancy shops and outlets as well if you like that. Also quite near Boone, NC and Appalachian State. It has become a retirement area as well as a cool weather weekend refuge for folks from Charlotte, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem.
