My first experience of American breakfast, everything is perfect, I love the stone alley lead to café!

We had breakfast here because the high ratings and location. The actual entrée’s(Eggs Benedict and French Toast) were great but didn’t come with any sides. Only a small portion of fruit that seemed to be more for aesthetics than substance. Given the price of each it was a little disappointing. The floors were very warped, so much so that our plates and drinks were sliding off our table as we cut into our dishes. Although the severity of the floors seemed to change from table to table. If I wasn’t positive our server was a greenhorn, I would’ve only given 1 star. But regardless, the entire FOH seemed very discombobulated. Overall, the entrée’s are tasty. No real sides. And make sure to ask for a table that is leveled.

We’ve been to The Village Café several times for breakfast when visiting Blowing Rock. Tucked away off Main Street, you can access it via a stairway just past Kilwin’s. The food and service are very good, and we like that they offer cappuccino. It’s very good, although at $ 4.99, it’s a bit expensive for a small glass. Their benedicts are our favorites, and you must try their fugasa toast. It’s like a cross between toast and an english muffin, and is very light. They also offer half sizes of their benedicts, which is great for me, since I can never eat a full plate. You’re lucky if you can visit when it’s warm enough to sit in the outside garden. It’s a beautiful place, and very relaxing to enjoy breakfast and a cup of coffee. We’ll definitely be back!

While the ambiance and food were good, all was ruined by the hostess/owner who berated the staff constantly in front of all the guests. We had great service but her actions really made us uncomfortable as she treated them unnecessarily poorly.

Great place for a brunch with very creative recipes. Butternut squash and ham soup, mimosas, and salads with homemade dressing. The chocolate mousse was a bit heavy more like pudding. Extremely good service and garden atmosphere dining. I want to go back already!

I had the salmon Benedict. Perfectly cooked salmon on a fresh English muffin and poached eggs. Very tasty. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We had bloody Mary’s as well which were just ok, but over all wonderful dining experience.

Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. Patio dining among the flowers and trees is a delight. Lunch of the crêpe of the day, a chicken and spinach with tomato cream and soup was delicious. The appeared to have plenty of indoor seating when the weather would not be nice enough for outside.

Great Breakfast. Arrived about 8:30 on a Sunday AM. Not too busy at this time, but it did pick up. Very attentive service. The french toast smelled great when it came out. Can’t speak for how it tasted as my son was quick to eat it all, guess that it a testament on its own. I had the special which was Eggs Charleston. The crab cakes were crispy and delicious. Glad that I ventured from Eggs Benedict, but these were also good(based on my other son’s opinion). We sat outside. Since it was windy, there were some pine needles that fell on the table. Even with this everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the meal. My father in law said that he didn’t even mind the needles because the food, atmosphere and company were so good. We will definitely go back.

The Village Café is definitely on the top of our list for breakfast. I ate here with my wife and 3 ½ son during a week day in early June. They don’t have a kids menu, but they have a half orders of French toast which is what my son ordered. It was raining so there was only inside seating and we were a little unsure if the inside would be kid friendly or not. But the staff didn’t bat an eye and seated us on the first floor(there is a second floor with additional tables). The adults both ordered crepes(sausage+cheese and canadian bacon+cheese filled), and both were good. The portion sizes are normal, which I personally like(I like to be able to finish my meal and not feel stuffed or have to take it home). I would love to return and be able to sit outside.

While wishing they offered gluten free options to their deliciously tempting bread that comes with everything, we were surprised by this gem. Off the beaten path in downtown Blowing Rock, this charming flagstone walkway led us to a dreamy house with alfresco options for a late lunch. We started with mimosas while waiting for a seat, and then were promptly sat at what is likely the most inconvenient table as it was in the walkway of where everyone wanted to be, but, that added to the charm of a small and cozy place. It was rustic and feminine, great for a date or girls luncheon, or even time with family. There is a full bar that I would have wanted to take advantage of if it were later in the day, but the full beauty of the place was the fresh and interesting food choices as well as the beauty of the well kept gardens outside, and those were under shade so it wouldn’t be overpowering in the heat on a summer day. The specials were so interesting and delish.

Excellent place to have a beautiful lunch with my sisters. Food was delicious, fresh, and unique. The service was exceptional. The outside seating area in the wildflower garden wasn’t open when we were there because it was chilly but it looked very inviting.

Today I returned to the Village Café after many years… I had not been here since I was a youngster. It was almost as if we turn back time and had the same amazing brunch that I always remembered! Highly recommend the eggs Benedict… They have several variations which are all spectacular. If you happen to try it out. let them know that Justin Lane sent you!

Unilocal didn’t take into account that this place is open seasonally, so it told us it was open when it was not. Not sure when the season is(assuming April to November) and we were here in late December. Still, it’s a cute little white repurposed house looking building tucked away down a long stone alleyway, off of the Main Street. It has a lovely little patio where I can imagine they set out little tables for dining. Would love to come back when it’s actually open!

What a find! Excellent food. Charming setting. Great staff. If you’re in Blowing Rock, don’t pass this place this place up. If you’re just looking for coffee, I’d go elsewhere.

This is a hidden gem Café off Main street. They serve breakfast and lunch and they are a little pricey but well worth it. The food was chef quality and the atmosphere was delightful and charming. We tried the special they had that day which was a different take on eggs Benedict it had homemade crab cakes instead of Canadian bacon and it was awesome! Also highly recommend making reservations if it’s a busy Saturday or Sunday. Mostly outside seating with limited inside seating but weather permitting you want to be outside anyway! No pets allowed, fyi.

If I hadn’t checked Unilocal,I’m pretty sure we never would’ve found this place. As you guys(and their website said) it’s right next to Kilwin’s, but the sign is fairly small, and it’s a loooong, stone walkway to get back to it. I loved that it felt a little hidden though. It was a rainy Sunday when we went, and we got there right when they opened at 8:00. I thought the weather might deter others, but we were the second group there, and by 8:15, the place was hoppin’. Unfortunately, the rain meant we couldn’t sit outside in the beautiful courtyard, but inside was pretty cozy, too. Our service was great, and the food was delicious. I got the Belgian waffle with pecans, and the fella got the two eggs with rosemary ham. He tried to order bacon, but they only have Canadian bacon… which led me to realize the menu was a little frou frou(mostly benedicts, omelets, crepes, etc.), but it definitely went with the ambiance of a quaint, European-feeling cottage.

My fiancé & I stopped here for a delicious Sunday brunch on the last day of our vacation. It was packed because of the horse show in town but we were able to get a table inside after a short wait. We were served coffee on the porch while we waited which was very nice! The homemade fugasa bread & fresh juices(pineapple!) were excellent! Very efficient, pleasant service. The hostess(also assumed owner) knew many customers by name. Wish we could have another meal here!

My boyfriend and I recently ate brunch here during our stay in Blowing Rock. I absolutely love the fact that it is almost hidden down a small stone path and situated in a beautiful outdoor garden. The feel is quite elegant, yet the prices are very reasonable. The staff was very attentive and the food came in a timely manner. It was a beautiful day, so of course we sat outside. My boyfriend got an espresso and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. The espresso was the best he had ever had– served the RIGHT way in a small cup with a lemon find and sugar cube. He appreciated those fine touches. He also got an omelet on special and enjoyed that as well. I myself can be a bit difficult since I’m vegan and quite health conscious, no meat, no dairy, no fried food, no sugar, and gluten free when possible. Tough I know! Luckily I was able to find something delicious. I ordered the sautéed mushroom and tomato sandwich with no mayo or cheese on their awesome homemade dairy free bread! It was awesome. We both would recommend this place and will certainly be back!

This is one of those magical spots that we come back to over and over. Annie is the ultimate hostess who remembers names, birthdays, and stories. the staff is friendly, efficient and thorough. The food is exceptional. And, the atmosphere is delightful… outside gardens and interior, old time cottage feel.

Not sure why but I was just a bit under whelmed with this place. It wasn’t for the lack of cuteness and quaint décor. Like most have stated the stone path down to the house is nice and a break from the norm but that’s where the appeal really ended for me. I enjoyed my omelette but it just wasn’t amazing in any way. All the food was in that same vein really, good but not great. The service was good and attention to detail seemed fine but again I just didn’t come away with any WOW. All that being said, this is a perfectly fine place to dine for breakfast or lunch.
