i came here with my friend chris today under his guise that this place was good. it did not disappoint. i got the three tacos dinner. it was three deep fried, rolled tacos filled with potatoes and cheese, and your standard rice and beans. it was yummy, the red and green sauce they give you is yummy, the burger i bought for my boyfriend he said was very good. everything there is home made, everything. even the burgers. the fried tacos were home made. everything was fresh and it seemed like the guy cared about what he makes. this place is so under rated, it needs more advertising and maybe an over haul design wise so more people will come to it. cause the man who makes the food is really good at what he does and he deserves to be a success.

Off the beaten path — unless you attend or teach at Eisenhower HS — this diner has a lot to offer. Classic American and Mexican food, ice cream counter, and weekend specials make it worth trying. Owner has a lot of passion for his food. I could tell the burger was fresh and hand-formed, no die-cut patties here. Breads come from Labriola, who supply some of the top restaurants in Chicago. Tortillas are made by hand too. I’ve only been in for lunch but I hear breakfast is hoppin’ with high schoolers and staff at DDE. Local food, local guy, give him a try!

This is a new little ice cream/fast food spot that recently opened up across the street from Eisenhower H.S. I stopped in with my family to check it out yesterday afternoon. The place is pretty small, but cozy and clean. The name of the place«My Craving» kinda doesnt give much of a clue of what type of food is served, i was kinda thinking it might be a restaurant that catered to preggo women, lol. The print menu is small, but I found out quickly that they have a bunch of items that are not even on the menu, but posted on boards around the counter and on the wall. I found it to be a bit confusing to be honest and I could not decide what to eat. The menu looked simple enough. burgers, hot dogs, fries, italian beef, tacos, burritos, ice cream, smoothies, shakes and soft drinks. The wall advertised, fajita dinners, pasta, BLT sandwiches, pizza, and much more I just cannot remember now. I regained my focus and chose an Italian beef sandwich. Big mistake! It came on italian bread like most places, but it was very dry and had no taste. The only flavor was from the giardinera, which I thankfully ordered. the beef tasted as if they were using the frozen italian beef from a supermarket, but added too much water to the pot to dilute the gravy. YUK! Needless to say, i didnt finish my beef, I moved on to eating my son’s left over hot dog(which was decent) and the remaining half of my wife’s cheeseburger(also decent). If I try this place again, I will have to try the ice cream and shakes. I am not sure I can stomach another beef, so maybe next time I will stick to a plain olé’ cheeseburger and fries. The service was pretty good, but we were the only customers at the time so, not sure how they work under pressure. Two stars for now.
