Blue Ridge K-9 Training Center

I have trained here for years. It’s a very good place to take a new puppy for much-​needed socialization and appropriate early training as well as for your purebred or rescued pup for basic, novice, intermediate, advanced, and rally and trick classes. Private sessions are available for special concerns or problems.
«Positive» (reward-​based) training techniques are emphasized over force-​based techniques. The instructors are patient, certified, and respectful – no one will make fun of you or disparage your choice of dog.
When I started here, I had a talented rat terrier, a rescued former stray, that I thought would do well in obedience and rally. They helped me reach those goals with good training advice and encouragement. He now has titles and championships in 3 rally venues and 2 obedience venues. They also helped me grow as a handler, and more! I’ve just been certified to judge all levels in the obedience venue Companion Dog Sports Program. I’m even helping run competitions now at this facility.
But Blue Ridge K-9’s major success is in helping people develop good manners in their best friends – and a well-​trained dog is a pleasure to have around. They return phone calls promptly and treat every question with the respect you deserve.
