Went here with my sister, have had hit or miss service here but not much choice around– especially later at night. The hostess was ok– not pleasant but not snarky like some have been in the past. We were seated in a 2 person booth and had to ask for it to be cleaned off again because it was sticky and had crumbs on it. This got a grunt of displeasure from the hostess but someone came by to wipe the table down fairly quickly. Our waitress was slow to arrive at the table and even slower to bring our drink order. When she returned with drinks we asked for the«appetizer of mozzerella sticks to share» and ordered our dinner. Shortly after we ordered, we heard a commotion in the bar area– just on the other side of the low divider. We looked over and saw a man who was arguing with a hostess. She was trying to get him to sit at the bar with his small child and he was telling the hostess he wasnt sitting his 10 year old at a bar table. He finally got the hostess(who looked about 16 herself) to sit him at a booth right behind ours and she was very rude and snotty to him– this is what I remember from past applebees hostess experiences of my own. She left and he asked one of the waitresses walking by to speak to a manager. The hostess overheard his request and RETURNEDTOHISTABLE and yelled at him«do you have a problem?» He said yes, with you get out of my face and leave my table. She stormed off and went to the area between the bar and the kitchen where she proceeded to loudly complain about how nasty the man was. My sister caught her attention and tried to motion that we could hear her. She stormed over to our table and asked what we needed– my sister told her we could hear her and she proceeded to complain about the guy to US!!! Wow, completely unprofessional. We don’t care, we just want to eat in peace AND we watched the exchange and know you were a snotty biatch to him first because he didnt want his kid to sit at the bar. So, the above incident aside, our waitress finally returned about 20 minutes after we ordered. With her she brought not only our appetizer, but also our dinner!!! What??? I asked why it didnt come out ahead like it is supposed to(it looked dried out and disgusting) and ignored the question, going with the generic«can I get you anything else?» I told her that since we already had our food we wouldnt actually need the appetizer AND it looks like it was sitting on the line forever so she could take it back. She looked annoyed and asked why we didnt order it to come ahead of our food if we wanted it that way. Um, isnt that what an appetizer is??? This place was better for a little while when the«cleaner» came in from corporate, but that person is apparently gone again now so it’s back to same old same old. If you want applebees, go to one of the ones in Lees Summit or Independence.

If that was plaza cost me this much for 5 bites I wouldn’t complaining but because this is blue springs and it’s Applebee’s. It’s would not ever order good there ever again.

The service is always slow, no matter the amount of people dining. The food is always soggy and the servers never smile. You have to walk by the server’s station just to get to the restrooms, which results in dirty looks from them while their shoving food in their mouths.

Asked for more fries 15 minutes ago, still no fries to go with my bottomless fries. Waitress looked over at us and then just walked back. Still no fries. This waitress is losing her tip by the minute. Been waiting on my refill of water for the past 20 minutes. They don’t have a clue when it comes to being a good waitress. Burger was good though.

This place is just plain gross. I hate everything about chain restaurants. I go here occasionally because there really aren’t any good restaurants in Blue Springs. Gross. Gross. Gross. Service sucks and so does the food. I actually don’t think I have ever had a good meal here. You always get your food before you are finished with your appetizer and despite the rush to get your food to you it is still cold! Veggies are always hard and undercooked. The Long Islands taste like pure sweet and sour mix. Ewww.

I unfortunately come here often because I’m a victim of the suburbs. Pros: they have happy hour(s) every day where you can get tons of food for under $ 20. Cons: it’s chain food and you have to almost always deal with snarky teenagers who are deemed«hostesses.» On one particular visit, we were asked if we wanted a booth or a table. I said booth and was met with a sigh and the response of, «What about half of each?» She was being serious. I then said, «How about a booth. That one is empty.» After our little debate, we were seated and after a nice, long, dehydrated wait, we were able to see the face of our waitress. Luckily, most of the waiters/waitresses we’ve had at this location have been really great. It’s just that first encounter with the hostesses that really just puts a damper on your evening. Anyway, moving on— the food is typical for a chain: over-seasoned and fried. Nothing particularly wrong with that, but nothing particularly special with that either. This establishment is always just so… messy. There are always tables that haven’t been cleared, the seats/tables are always damp and everything is sticky: tabletops, salt/pepper shakers/cups. However, if you go first thing in the afternoon for an early lunch, it’s actually in a lot better shape. On our most recent venture to Applebee’s, we had a really great waiter and good service – however, having to ask for a new cup of water because there was some sort of dust in the water, asking for paper towels because my seat was wet and not to mention the floors were littered with napkins/wrappers/misc trash from previous guests. It was not a lovely view of dirty tables around us. I wouldn’t call it eating good in the neighborhood…

It is a chain. I went in late. Luckily, they were still open. It is hard sometimes to find something open late during a weekday. But, I had the perfect margarita. Three actually. It was five minutes before last call and I was with a friend. Ordered three, and she didn’t blink a eye. They have a late night happy hour that is pretty awesome. Half price appetizers. She continued to check on me. Let me have a great time without all the pressure. All the tables were dirty though. That was a little draw back. It made me wonder about what else was dirty. But, it was the end of the night so maybe next time.

Meh. Food is chain-ordinary, service is surly. One goes to Applebee’s because a) you know what you’re going to get and b) they have cheap appetizers after ten, which is the only time we end up here. But at this Applebee’s, my daughter ordered a side of fries to share, and got a pitiful half-full basket. When we pointed out that the portion was much smaller than normal, the server shrugged. «That’s what you get,» she said. Really? Well, we won’t be back in that case.
