Great barbeque! I love supporting local businesses and this one is great! It hit the spot.

Great people great food. I liked the pulled pork the most. The sauce was awesome, the hot BBQ sauce definitely had a kick.

Not the roomiest restaurant in the world, nor the fanciest, but damn good food. Don’t expect to see any pro sports on their tv(singular) as they do not pay for that service from Comcast. DO expect great food and great service from this little underdog. Watch out Gates &OK Joe’s, you’ve got competition. Till next time.

I can only say that this place is average to above average. I would like to visit another time or two to be sure. I wasn’t crazy about the rub… but that may just be my flavor preference. I will say the loaded baked potato salad was SOLID… a must try.

Surprisingly good. Had brisket, burnt ends, fries, beans, and coleslaw. Coleslaw was amazing. Big value. Would recommend.

We tried Q’s new location in Blue Springs a couple of weeks ago. I tried the ribs/fries and had a taste of the bbq beans. The sauce is not typical KC sweet type. It’s little vinegary with a little too much spice for my kids palates. The ribs were a little mushy and may have been a day old. Meaty with good bite — not falling of bone. The rub is a little salty. Fries were hot and crispy. Beans were good flavored but mushy. The young man who waited on us was new but friendly and fast. The new location in Blue Springs is much better than the bar they were located in in Lee’s Summit but the storefront windows face west so almost too uncomfortable for a late afternoon meal. Blinds would probably help.

While wandering downtown Lee’s Summit with a bridal party of groomsmen waiting to get into our venue(the Stanley down the street) we started desperately looking for someplace to booze for a bit. Thing is all the bars in downtown we tried to hit weren’t going to open until 2PM. Same for the Do Drop Inn that shares space with Q’s, but we decided to go in anyway. Maybe we could convince them to give us a draw from the bar. No dice, for what it’s worth. Anyway, the BBQ itself was good. It’s a pretty decent setup and business plan, opening up literally inside the bar. The whole restaurant itself is really just a counter, what looks like a warmer(maybe it’s the actual smoker?) and a place to fry foods. BBQ is in my family(my parents owned a BBQ restaurant for about six years) and I also know that it’s tough to keep a BBQ place open in today’s economy with the big BBQ joints and the ultra successful ones soaking up a lot of business. Q’s was good. The ribs were a bit jerky-ish, which isn’t uncommon after they’ve been in a warmer for a long while. There wasn’t a lot of meat on them but I didn’t hate them. The smoke wasn’t overpowering and with their sauce, which is packed with black pepper(which I enjoyed quite a bit) they were definitely do-able. The pulled pork slider my buddy got was better. I’m a fan of «wet» pulled pork and I enjoyed the bite I had quite a bit. Lots of good vinegar flavor; same with their cabbage heavy cole slaw, which I also liked. Service was good and the owner(s) were very friendly and definitely happy for our business. Looked like a definite mom and pop combo. When I checked in I saw they had a Unilocal check in deal which I didn’t take advantage of, simply because I wasn’t hungry enough to add a sandwich on to my rib combo. If I’m in downtown Lee’s Summit again I’ll probably stop in. We went with a party of six guys on a Friday at about 11:30AM. The place was basically empty, except a couple of other tables while we were there.

Great local business and owner. Support downtown merchants and enjoy yummy food in a great neighborhood gathering spot. The sliders are VERY filling. One is more than enough for me for lunch. The beans are really good and are often overlooked in favor of the more popular loaded baked potato salad. Try the beans sometime.

Today was my 1st experience eating Q’s BBQ. I had the burnt ends with their original sauce — and what can I say? It was the BOMB! Such a wonderful taste explosion inside my mouth that made my lunch shear heaven! The sauce is bold & tangy which made it a nice compliment to the burnt ends — they were nice and tender, and together it brought out the full flavor of the meat. Will I recommend this place to family & friends? You bet I will!

Q’s is not quite my speed. The meats were oversmoked and the sauce had way too much pepper… that is coming from someone who likes spice. We split some wings, I had the burnt ends and a fellow diner had the Carolina style pork. Slaw is vinegar based. Pretty small servings compared to what you get from other barbecue joints in KC. They share the space with the Do Drop Inn, and the Do Drop staff treated us like lepers in their bar. Not welcoming at all. Q’s didn’t do it for me.

Stopped in for lunch and had the special: 4 ribs, pickles, beans and a drink. The food was good, but not great… and a bit expensive at $ 10 for the lunch special. The dry rub on the ribs was tasty, but the ribs were a bit dry overall. The beans looked and tasted canned, but I fixed them up with some of the house sauce. The missing ingredient here is texture; everything seemed a bit mushy. Perhaps some french fries or onion rings are just thing to push this place over the top. In another city, perhaps this BBQ joint would earn 5 stars. It’s hard to compare when Gates is just a short drive and Pork-n-Pit is down the road. I’ll stop back in sometime and give it another shot…

Another restaurant chosen because of the reviews on Unilocal! And, I was very pleased that I agree with the high reviews. We arrived for a late lunch to an empty bar — so service was first rate. I ordered the rib combo and also got a free slider from checking in on Unilocal.I requested the warm potato salad on the side. The ribs were dry rubbed and there was sauce on the table to add if you chose. I truly enjoyed every bite of the ribs with and without the sauce! The warm potato salad was sinful. This weight watcher tasted every calorie of the delicious side and gave the majority to my son! It was awesome but way out of my comfort zone for calorie content. I had given the slider to my son, who gave me a bit of the pork and of the turkey slider he ordered — both were very good but a bit dry but with the sauce were great. I am looking forward to returning for the tender, juicy, flavorful ribs!

Q’s Que… A small counter service BBQ joint located within the Do Drop In. A few offerings of some decent smoked meats that include pulled pork, brisket, pork ribs and turkey. I opted for the brisket slider and a Carolina style slider, that was pulled pork topped with slaw. Both were excellent, but could have used a stronger hickory flavor. Sauce is bold and tangy, but the meat was moist and didn’t need much of the sauce. I had a warm loaded potato alas as my side, which was an intersting German-style dish. Very Good and something that should be made part of the everyday menu. I’m in the habit of having fries with my BBQ, but that is not an option here… Slaw, Beans, or Potato salad are the only offerings. The place is really not set up for a deep dryer anyway, but for someone who uses fries to lap up the sauce, this was a little piece that was missing. Prices are a little steep, considering the overhead(its in a bar), the staff(one very friendly guy that did everything), and the size of the portions(2 small sliders, side, and drink was over $ 10) Thee is no shortage of BBQ in this city, but Q’s provides something different… and that is why I’ll be back for more.

I’m starting to wonder if my taste buds are effed up… because honestly, after all the great reviews, I must say I found this place… average. I had the pork sliders, and m’lady had the brisket sliders. Both of them were fine, but not outstanding. Considering the amount of food, I would say the prices seemed high. The sides — slaw and twice baked potato salad — were worlds apart. The slaw was ok… not your traditional slaw as it was heavy on the onions and such. The potato salad, served warm, was delicious. I really liked the sauce here — one of the better ones I have had in the KC area. Definitely not as sweet as a lot of KC sauces. Look, this place was fine. I just expected more based on the reviews, and I thought it underwhelmed. That all being said, I do want to try the burnt ends, because I lovvvvve burnt ends. So, I’ll be back at least once more.

It’s no secret that as a resident of downtown Lee”s Summit, I’m a big supporter of downtown Lee’s Summit businesses, and this place is a great addition to the scene. Being located in what’s quite possibly the oldest school tavern in the community, it’s got a nice feel… not too fancy(it wouldn’t be fitting at the Do Drop if it were)…just a nice, clean counter with a sandwich board’s worth of options for meats, sides, and combo meals. Simple, unfussy, and absolutely delicious, in a neat, laid back environment. The food was prepared quickly, and the owner was friendly and chatty, too. I like the slider concept, which, unlike in the burger version of the same mini-sandwich, doesn’t mean that you get a couple of tiny bites and then done. The meat was still piled high on my two sliders, but it was easier to handle and eat than BBQ sometimes is when served up on a larger roll. Fluffy, flour dusted buns were fantastic with the tender pulled pork, and the sauce is their own and tangy and good. French fries are my dietary downfall, and Q’s makes it easier for me, due to the fact that they don’t have a fryer, so your side options are beans, potato salad, and slaw… the slaw is, the owner told me, an old-school recipe connected to the Do Drop, and it’s not a creamy slaw, it’s colorful, vinegar-y, and has lots of caraway seeds… more relish than salad, and it’s perfect on top of the pulled pork, if you wanna go the Carolina-style route. Blends well with the kick of the sauce, too. I’d give the other sides a try, given the time, but the slaw is pretty darned good. I can’t wait to try the other meats, because what I had was great… good smokey flavor, not too greasy, as can happen with pulled pork… I’m looking forward to seeing how their other meats are. The amounts are perfect for me, too. You don’t go away hungry, and you don’t go away bloated. They run specials, too, I noticed, and the pricing seems fair. No patio, here, but you can, it appears, eat outside on metal patio tables on the sidewalk, which is great for sunny, summery days. When the weather gets colder, I could also foresee strolling down to the Do Drop Inn on a lazy, gloomy Saturday, grabbing a table, some BBQ, one of their myriad board games, a brew or three, and being set for a few hours. I’m a sucker for good tavern food, and this fits the bill wonderfully!

Q’s Que is really awesome. The atmosphere of the Do Drop Inn goes so well with this food! We tried everything. The ribs… tender, flavorful and lean! Turkey, moist and delicious! Pork… PERFECT. The sliders are generous and priced great! Beans were better than any I have had. Love the vinegar based slaw too. The sauce tops everything though. I can’t wait to go back. I will definately remember take out on my way to the lake on weekends.

This is some mighty fine barbecue. The pulled pork is incredible, as good as any I have ever had, and I have had 49 years of barbecue. And the brisket is dynamite! I could not get enough. Also, I have never been much of a rib lover, but I was converted when I had Q’s Ques ribs. Delicious does not even cover it. Tender, juicy, amazing. These guys know what they are doing. I have already been a repeat customer and I am spreading the word! I will be back. I will bring my friends and family. Q’s Que — congratulations. You are doing an excellent job!

Qs Que just opened inside of a classic 50 year old traditional dive bar in downtown Lees Summit Mo. known as The Do Drop Inn They have beef pork And turkey along with a special everyday. 3 ribs w/one side and drink for 9.95 was the special on Thursday’s. The traditional sides of beans Cole slaw and potato salad are your only choice as they don’t have a fryer. They serve their sandwiches on slider buns which were fresh but cold. Steaming them would make a big difference. On the other hand the meat had been in the steamer too long and I really couldn’t tell the beef from the pork. The beans were good but lacked the chunks of meat that’s so prominent in KC style beans. The meat was good but lacked a lot of flavor. The sauce was the shining star very good sweet but with some heat. They have sausage and burnt ends but like the ribs there only available on certain days. Which is kind of a bummer. Your full menu should be available daily especially with barbecue when your choices are limited anyway. You need another way to warm up meat besides keeping it in a steamer for the whole lunch period. Their sliders are 3.00. I had two sliders beans and water and it was 8.50. I was full but that’s a lot of bread and not much meat. For the Do Drop Inn this is a welcome addition for an establishment that has been there 50 years but didint have food. Friday and Saturday night from 11−1am sliders are 2 for 5.00 and that’s a good time to give them a try. If you want barbecue in Lees Summit and aren’t stuck downtown you cant beat pork n pit on colbern road. It’s a much better deal for the money. This isn’t bad BBQ it just isn’t great.
