Tried the large pork barbecue sandwich today and I’m sad to say I was not impressed. The pork had no smoked flavor to it, very plain. The sandwich was covered in sauce, slaw and pickle, which was fine but with no smoked flavor, it didn’t seem much like real barbecue.

Stopped here a couple days ago for Brunswick Stew. I’ve never had Brunswick Stew before, but it was unusually cold this past weekend in Alabama, so I was looking for something to warm my tummy. The Stew hit the spot, and warmed me up at the same time, I found it to be quite tasty. Had a bit of a sweet taste to it also. I really can’t compare it to any other Brunswick Stew, because like I said above, this was my first time ever having it. I kinda do wish it had a thicker consistency, but after doing some research, I found that the North Carolina variety of Brunswick Stew is made in such a manner. Would certainly drop back in to Dale’s BBQ to try other items on the menu, they were very friendly when I ordered my Brunswick Stew this past Saturday. Will post an update when that happens.

Since I gave Q’s 4 *s, I have to go one less for Dale’s. Sandwich here might have been a little bigger but filling was less and drier. It did have a pickle slice on it. Location is convenient to major roads and they have a double drive up. Walk up orders also order from drive up windows. A few outside tables are nice but flies are bad; even on this not so hot day(about 81 degrees). Only based on BBQ sandwiches, I would go to Q’s.
