Service was poor and food cooked all wrong. Poached eggs weren’t runny at all and potatoes tasted like they bought at store and didn’t even bother seasoning. I would legitimately slap someone if they wanted to come eat here.

Housekeeping needed to clean my room, and I could tell that they didn’t want to do it with a large dog in the way, so I took my dog out for a walk so they could take care of business. I stumbled across 3rd Street Café, and noticed their outdoor area. They allowed me to sit outside with my pooch, and I ordered a local beer, Big Boca, and I decided upon their gazpacho as I wasn’t really all that hungry, I was just trying to pass some time. The waitress was friendly, and she brought out water for my dog. The gazpacho was on point, and the beer was refreshing. Later that day, some friends in the area contacted us, and wanted to go out to dinner. Their was an art show on the island that whole weekend, and calling around trying to make reservations for our party was proving futile. I remembered that I had stopped into 3rd Street Café earlier, and their menu didn’t look too shabby, so we called and were able to secure reservations, but they only had availability at 6pm. Dinner was kind of weird, as we were the only people in the place other than a couple at the bar. I was wondering why they could only fit us in at 6:00 pm, but they apparently only staff up for lunch. The bartender was also our waiter, there was no other wait staff. We started with the Tuna Tartare, it was served on top of avocados and with a a black olive tapenade. It was on point, we loved it. For my main course I went with the New Zealand Double Lamb Chops, which came with a rosemary demi glaze and gnocchi. There was something else that wasn’t listed though, and I think it was a spicy mustard, although I’m not sure. It just didn’t pair nicely with the lamb. The missus ordered a lamb burger, and it was quite tasty. The bartender/waiter had to look up how to make an Old Fashioned, which was a bit disconcerting, but he did a pretty good job. I’m really feeling more of a 3.5 rating is appropriate, but the tuna tartare elevates it to a four.

3rd Street Café called my name because they had a lobster roll on their menu. Oddly enough, the waitress convinced me on the lobster nachos. There was also a picture on Unilocal with nice good pieces of lobster on the nacho’s. Unfortunately, that was not the case. They were tiny itty bitty pieces, like teeny tiny. I was pretty turned off by it, but the management was nice enough to take my nachos back, and brought me back the lobster roll. It was pretty good, I must say. My hubby got a burger and he greatly enjoyed it. All in all, it was a good spot. They have a super cute outside patio as well that is dog friendly. They also have a happy hour as well too. It was at a bit later time than when we got there, so we did not take advantage of it.

The food is a tad pricey but delicious. We stayed on the patio with our dog and nicely taken care of by our waiter. A really great gem in Boca!

Excellent choice on island for good food in a charming setting. Ask to be seated in the lovely garden if the weather permits. The service was quick and cheerful and the food, for the most part delicious. The best dish of the evening was the lemon chicken which was juicy with great chicken flavour. The lemon sauce had a delightful Mediterranean bite without overpowering the delicate meat. The toffee dessert and key lime pie were outstanding.

Forgettable. Strip steak tasted like cardboard. Himalayan sea salt which was talked up prior to the meal was non existent. Duck parpadelle tasted like two separate ingredients. Nothing jelled, from our waiter Shelby who was exceedingly slow to the hostess who complained about her servers adding people to the reservation list without her knowing. Just bad all around. Did I mention that they didn’t have a majority of their meat dishes which explains the strip steak tasting like 4 day old cardboard steak. No meatball appetizer or filet entrée either, should have been a huge red flag not to order beef. I can only imagine how old the duck was they used for the pasta dish. Is this the best you can do Boca Grande? Forgot to mention that my Tito’s up with a twist came with a slice of cucumber instead of a twist. Really?

Such a great spot in downtown Boca Grande. The lobster nacho’s are out of this world awesome; Jai Alia on draft and happy hour specials — must check this spot out!!! Great fresh and local vibe with a chef that can cater to any taste.

We came here because the menu looked unique. The restaurant exceeded our expectations. Every dish was fantastic and the portion sizes were huge! The calamari was incredible — one of the best I have ever had — light and crispy with a lemony flavour, the shrimp ceviche came with king sized prawns. The tuna tacos were phenomenal with just a touch of wasabi. The middle eastern salad had this feta cheese that was to die for. Coffee was great especially the latte and dessert. The biscuit with the coffee was a nice touch. The homemade dessert was a fantastic end to an outstanding dining experience. I highly recommend that you walk the 2 blocks away from the main strip especially if you are a foodie!!! The service was excellent too!!! Great ambience, waiters and chefs with good recommendations!!!

This hidden gem, makes you feel as though I am on an island vacation even though I drove from my home 40 minutes away. We called for dinner reservations prior because I knew that the locals do enjoy it. Our fabulous waitress crystal made some wonderful suggestions which took my tastebuds on a flavorful journey. The espresso was on point and even the lemons for the water were substantial.

We’re in Boca Grande a lot, having a beach house here, so we’ve been on the roller coaster ride of Third St Café. We’ve had great meals here and some not good at all. It seems to have changed ownership/chefs multiple times in the last several years. We came last night with some trepidation, having read some recent poor reviews. Whew! «It’s back»! In fact last night was the first night of a new menu under Chef Larry. Our waitress, Jodi, had him come out to talk to us– he candidly addressed the poor reviews, which he had read too– and told us about some of the many changes he was making. The food lived up to his promises. To start I had a wonderful beet salad and my husband had the heirloom tomato salad– then I had the ricotta spinach ravioli in a sage browned butter sauce and my husband had the diver scallop entrée– which thankfully is back on the menu. Also back is their sticky toffee pudding, a crowd favorite– now with a gingerbread twist. I hope Chef Larry sticks around because we’ll be back!

This place is great. The food is very good for the island. A bit flashy and trying too hard(less sauce, please) but it is reliable and delicious.

I have always had great food at this quaint little restaurant tucked in the middle of downtown Boca Grande. Yesterday I ordered a breakfast egg sandwich to grab and go and was less than impressed. It was all bread and had sausage links split in half(instead of maybe a patty) laying inside but mostly hanging out over the sides. Could have used and extra egg to at least fill the space of the bread, especially for the price.

Stopped by for brunch over the weekend and it was excellent. I had the 3rd Street Benedict(poached eggs, chorizo, chipotle hollandaise, and cornbread) and it was very good. There was no wait(on a Saturday around 12:30p) and we sat outside on the patio, which is really quaint and relaxing. My only complaint is that they didn’t have bloody mary’s(they could make a non-alcoholic version with rice wine) or any other typical brunch cocktail drinks. But the food and service were very good, it was reasonibly priced, and we’d definitely go back!

We split the heirloom tomato salad-good not great. Seared scallops from the appetizer menu– excellent! Spinach, ricotta ravioli main w sage butter sauce was also excellent as was the key lime pie. Bit limited mostly pricey wine list. We went back for breakfast the next day. Breakfast was also very good as was the service both times.

My friend and I both had a great lunch at the café yesterday. I had the Roasted veggies in a pita pocket. It was fabulous. The eggplant, mushrooms and other veggies were perfectly roasted. I believe there was hummus in the pocket as well as a few spring greens with a cucumber yogurt dressing. I can’t wait to return, there were many items on the lunch menu that I wanted to try. I love Mediterranean food.

Had a delicious dinner at 3rd Street Café. This was my first time there and their menu is different than others in the area(less focus on seafood). Beet/Goat Cheese salad was almost life changing. It was DELICIOUS. Crab cake — extremely flavorful, lots of great lump grab meat. Very tasty! Service was friendly but a little awkward to be honest. Not as polished as some of the other restaurants in the area(even though prices are comparable). It does have a more«charming» vs fancy feel. I definitely want to come back and try breakfast!

MMMM corned beef hash, sausage gravy biscuits, eggs on eggs on toast… makes for a perfect breakfast(ok really brunch for us) to power your beach bumming and soothe that hangover. The waitresses are SOOO nice, and they didn’t even yell at us for screaming obscene things in their nice restaurant. There was a bit of a backup in the kitchen but fortunately we needed ample time to recover anyway and weren’t in a hurry.

Came here for lunch and it was fantastic food. A bit pricey, and the service was very forgetful, but she always apologized and gave me my smoothie with a to-go cup because I got it so late and gave my dad free extra toast because he got it so late. I got the omelet with goats cheese, spinach, and tomato which was really good, but the goats cheese could have been more spread out – I know it’s difficult to do from experience but I’m paying for this! The bread was really good as well, which is a good complement because good bread is hard to find. They have homemade jam that they put on the table for the toast which was fantastic. My dad tried to buy some but they only make it in jars when ‘the season’ starts. I got a smoothie with homemade lemonade, pineapple, and grapes which was delicious as well.
