I recently saw the Jackie Mason show using discounted tickets purchased from for $ 17.25. However, we and all the other patrons using Goldstar were very surprised when at the box office before the show to obtain the tickets were told«you have to pay an additional $ 15 per person to get 2 items(drink or a few snack options) but will get some back in return.» Their drinks and candy or pretzel were expensive and came to about $ 9 per person(water, soda, candy, pretzel), so the $ 17.25 tkt + $ 9 = $ 26 per person. They also sell alcoholic drinks. Apparently this is the case for any Goldstar ticket at this venue. I believe full price tkt would have been $ 36. The theatre holds about 200+ seats, however the seats are not banked but we were able to see;, only in the back there is 1 step up. They will bring your drinks to you if you«text» them. However, you have to hold the drink and food or put it on the floor — a bit awkward while seeing a show. Also it took a long time to get coffee as the machine wasn’t functioning correctly. The Jackie Mason show was ok, a bit corny, with some funny musical numbers. Sheeba Mason, Jackie’s daughter starred in the show and her few bits of comedy in the beginning were very funny, would like to see her perform stand-up there. Other actors were very good as well. The theatre is painted entirely in black, hence the name black box and conveniently located with parking.

This is the best place in west Boca to sit back and enjoy a good show. Whether you are into comedy, music or theater, the black box has a show for you! We love coming here, having a drink and watching the performers. Check this place out if you are looking for something fun.

bought tickets through goldstar. thought i was going to get a better deal. well i was wrong. first the block box forces you to buy drink tickets $ 30 for 2 people. I bought 4 tickets from goldstar. the other couple i was going with 1 of them ended up in hospital. i did not expect a refund but since i already paid for the tickets i wanted them to give them to me they said no .If i wanted them I had to buy another $ 30 worth of drink tickets. So the tickets that i bought i could not even pass them onto someone else. turns out there was someone in the other 2 seats when show started guess they sold tickets twice

What a pleasant surprise. As you drive up you see a strip mall from the 80s. It’s ok, but as you walk in, what transformation! I was impressed. They present comedy, variety, music, and other performance arts. This venue is a gem of the community and it’s great to see it being supported so well. Have nothing to do? Check them out. Great quality performances and a reasonable price.

I can appreciate the effort from this place to get acts in Boca but just based on the venue itself it doesn’t measure up. Being located in a strip mall behind Burger King doesn’t help but getting past that there’s not much that would attract customers or headliners here. Basically it’s a medium size auditorium with a box stage set up in front. You sit in school type chairs which are not the most comfortable. There’s no food service at all but they have a bar and drink service. There are no side tables or anywhere to palace your drinks while watching the show. It’s just not an inviting place to enjoy the entertainment.

Saw Simply Tina last night with my wife at this place. This is a tina turner tribute show — and they knocked it out of the park. As far as the band goes — this was only the 2nd tribute band I’ve ever seen that exactly duplicates the artist they are trying to cover. AS far as the venue — Boca Black box was great. Very clean, air conditioned, seats were comfortable and there really is no bad seat in the house. I think they frequently have comedians there as well — will def go back to see a comedian there sometime. nice job folks — both the band and theater.

We went to our first show here and saw Craig Shoemaker. First of all, that dude is hilarious! Great show. The venue is really cool. Second of all, the owners were the folks that greeted us and walked us to our seats. Nice touch. The set up was really cool because you weren’t stuck at some long table trying to look around someone to see the show. They have stadium type seating and the place isn’t so big that you don’t have to worry that you will have a bad seat as there isn’t one. It really puts the spotlight on the performer. The staff was efficient and friendly. We were able to get our drinks from the bar in a timely fashion and the drink prices were very good. We loved the craft beer selection. Another aspect that we LOVED was they provided a phone number so that we could text our drink order in to the bar and the waitress would bring our drinks right to our seats. I loved that I didn’t have to get up and miss any of the show and even better that it kept most everyone in their seats so their wasn’t disruption of the show. Kudos on that idea! And, there is no food being served so that keeps down the distraction as well. We had dinner at the Armadillo Café before the show. Fabulous food btw. It was easy to get to, had ample parking, clean and I loved how the interior is done. Very cool. They also have more than comedy shows, like bands and theater performances and can be booked for private events. I know we will be returning for sure. Check it out!

Ducked in twice now, both for the Grand Opening and again last night, and both times were great times, here’s why: * The Comedian ROCKED! Craig Shoemaker was awesome, too. * A high school friend bought my tickets! * Drink prices are better than FAIR for Boca! Beer and Wine only and wine-based specialty cocktails, for now… $ 5 for beer. Nice. * New * Clean * Lots of parking, all free. Well lit, too. * Visible exterior security so no one drives of with my Zenvo! * No food, so eat at Armadillo Café(adjacent) beforehand. * Tickets needed! Apparently a previous tenant had free shows for a 2-drink minimum. No more! Randy tells me that this is more than a comedy club. This is a «black box» where musicians may play, where some improv will occur, and wherein you can rent the venue for special events. Check the website«EVENTS» section. BTW, the place holds about 275 people. Plus ‘er minus. ‘Til then, Cabeza OUT!
