Closed… I went 2 months ago on a weekend evening place was dead and they had next to no meat. Bad location. Nothing ever last in that shopping center.

HIDDENGEM. TRYTHEPOLISHSAUSAGE. TASTEDLIKE A SUPERBHOTDOG. I would have never ever thought of ordering sausage, especially in a bbq place, it, but a friend asked for a taste and I got a free taste and think its one of the best tasting things in boca. Just ask for a free taste and you will see.(The polish sausage, not the spicey one) They also give you free ice cream, so remember that too.

First of all staff is very friendly! The smoked smell when you walk in is amazing. We walked up to order and we actually couldn’t make our mind on want to order, the guy upfront recommended the half ribs bbq combo and we went with it as side orders we got ; Green beans with bacon; they were good but to greasy for me and not enough bacon. Waffle fries; were also good but too greasy as the green beans. Onion tanglers; they had too much oil making it impossible for us to even eat it. Potato salad; it was ok. I like the bbq ribs, my gf did not since we both agree they were not falling off the bone which is usually what you expect from a damn good ribs, their bbq sauces rock the original for us was the best one, and i loved their cups since you can take em home and re use then afterwards, and their ice cream machine wasn’t working when we went so that was definitely a turn off for us. Overall great staff, not so great bbq.

Like the staff, love the food ;however, must agree with other Unilocalers that cleanliness has become an issue. Must drop down to 3 stars until this is resolved.

This place has changed hands for the worse. We tried to order a baker, a stuffed baked potato but the manager says he makes one baked potato a day because he throws them out and corporate won’t let him take the five menu items off their menu. The hot BBQ sauce buckets, once a signature, are now uncovered and two look like they hadn’t been cleaned in a day or two. The toaster is broken so no warm buns. The coke machine cleaned with something dirty that left a milky film over it. The utensil holders are dirty. I’ve been to many, many Dickies. They’re only as good as the franchisees who run them. This place is empty at 1:00p and used to be pretty busy. Front windows are filthy. Bathrooms dirty too. It’s a bad location but it’s not aided by dirty stuff that these clearly not busy people should have spic and span. Shame, because this place rocked when it opened.

Good pulled pork and chopped brisket. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Could be a bit cleaner all around. For example, bathrooms smell like they aren’t truly clean, BBQ sauce splatters on wall behind sauce bar, metal sauce containers need washing, floors are a bit greasy.

Excellent BBQ. One of the best briskets I have ever had. Don’t go to late because they may run out of it. They also have every southern style guilty pleasure especially the cheesy Mac and cheese.

Some of the best BBQ brisket I have had in Florida. With free ice cream with every meal, this has become my new favorite BBQ place close to home. Originally from Texas, Dickey’s offers the entire spectrum of Texas style BBQ including pulled pork, sausages, turkey, chicken, ribs, ham and both chopped and sliced brisket. Having been here several times and tried most of the menu items, you can’t go wrong with any of these choices. Side dishes are a plenty with several to chose from including mac n cheese, bbq baked beans, okra etc. By far my favorite is the loaded baked potato casserole, which is whipped potatoes with sour cream, cheese, scallions, and bacon bits mixed together. Highly addictive. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. All meals come with a roll and the ice cream. The family meals offer the most bang for your buck. Top it off with very friendly service, and this place is a must try if you are craving bbq. Also make sure to dress up your bbq with one of their three hot bbq sauces.

I’m very pleasantly surprised at Dickie’s BBQ Pit. I didn’t expect much since it’s a chain, but I decided to stop in based on the restaurant’s proximity to me and the fact that I had a hankering for a pulled pork sandwich. After eating my meal, I’m glad I made the trip! I want to stress that I only had the pulled pork sandwich, but it was smokey and delicious. Dickie’s is a chain restaurant and so I was a bit cautious in my expectations. Famous Dave’s is my favorite chain BBQ joint, but now that I’ve had Dickie’s, I might see a bit of competition. I’ll try the ribs on my next visit to see how I really like them and I’ll report back, but based on my first visit, I liked the sandwich(had onions and pickle on it which were really good), I liked their BBQ sauces, and I liked the service.

One couple ahead of me in line and it took forever to place my order. When I got to the counter the prep. area looked like a bomb had gone off. After every order the meat has to be wrapped in plastic and put back in the warmer, that’s time consuming. What is it that they have to use a scale to weigh out the meat? I got a 2 meat plate and was told that it could be 2 or less ribs because of the weight. it was 2 from the dry hard end, lucky that the other meat was the polish sausage. Oh, the ribs are not baby back. Howard’s has great prepared baby back ribs and are a bargain compared to the Weighted meat at Dickey’s.

I’ve only been here once, but here’s what I think. After about 10 minutes of looking at the menu, which was kinda hard to figure, Justin helped me out. He was really friendly and just genuinely wanted me to enjoy my lunch. He told me a little about the company, which I found out to be a huge chain in Texas, and then he told me he personally likes the pulled pork and brisket. Being more of beef guy I decided on a beef brisket sandwich with a side of waffle fries and beans. The brisket was awesome. Very tender, not fatty at all, and full of flavor. They keep the BBQ sauce on the side and slightly warm which I thought made it taste way better when I doused the sandwich with it. The waffle fry portion was a tad bit small, i felt a little skimped but the sandwich more than made up for it. The beans were solid too, nothing too special there. I can’t vouch for anything else, but I would totally come back for the brisket. It’s so good that I don’t think I’ll even try anything else here, lol. Reasonably priced too, with all you can eat soft serve ice cream. Yum!

Checked this place out to try to get some variety in my BBQ choices. Overall I’d say it’s solid. My girlfriend & I had the rib plate. The meat was tender, a tad bit dry for my tastes but the sauce compensated well. As for the sides, a mixed bag IMO. I had waffle fries(very good) & Mac & cheese. The Mac & cheese isn’t the baked variety that I’m used to when going to a BBQ joint; this was more like boiled pasta with a can of Velveeta poured on top. Not my thing. Overall, I would visit again, however I would stick to the sandwiches. This is more of a fast-food style restaurant, not a full-service restaurant ala Shorty’s or Smokey Bones.

I am a Native and think this place has great BBQ along with the staff which was extremely up beat and friendly. I even met the Owner which is actually from Texas. My favorite is the Beef brisket and Pork plate. They have Self Serve ice cream and TV’s to keep you entertained. I visited again this week and they had a HUGE grand opening so I think the word is getting out. It is not close to home but I travel a lot and will be keeping it on my list of places to visit when in the area.

It’s always exciting to try a new restaurant, especially BBQ. Boca has quite a BBQ places already like Shane’s, PA, Lucille and my personal favorite Mississippi Sweets. But there is enough too much BBQ if you ask me. Dickey’s is a Texas franchise and with the country bumpkin roots they find their way to the very affluent and very Yankee Boca Raton, central Boca to be exact. Rich white people love them so BBQ. It allows them to live vicariously just for a meal and then get back to their very rich white lives. Would they rather hear Michael Buble than Trace Atkins while eating? Sure, who wouldn’t Trace Atkins sucks. So put aside the fact you’ll be subjected to the obligatory country music there, which by the way, I think you get used to like at Longhorn or John Smith Subs. I can’t imagine the workers there like it, but it goes with the territory. Now on to the food. I ordered the 2 meat plate, which consisted of pulled pork and brisket. The brisket was by far my favorite. This place is smart, they don’t smoother the meats in sauce, they allow you to dictate that. The meats were both real tender and juicy. The portions weren’t overwhelming but it comes with two sides so you’ll be fine. They have your typical BBQ sides there, nothing outstanding but definitely serviceable. The mac & cheese reminded me of the kind you get at KFC, which like I said is more than serviceable. I just wish they had a some vinegar and pepper hot sauce like you find at real soul kitchen(Tom Jenkins holla). The staff and service is way nice and overly friendly in a good way. They just want you to enjoy your meal and you can tell they appreciate our business. This location isn’t ideal because its hidden off of Powerline but if you tell people it’s the shopping center where Anthony’s and Kyojin are they should know. Bottom line: Food was good, service was really good. They even have a soft-served ice machine that you’re allow to use which is a nice off-set for the palate. Everybody has a sweet tooth after some good olé barbeque. I like this place. It’s clean, new, energized and the staff(including owner) are super nice. I’ll be returning and hopefully I’ll continued to be in impressed.
