Everglades University

I recently had 2 calls with the Everglades call center, they were very professional and they answered all of my questions.

I am practically being harassed at this point. I signed up for information out of slight curiosity and then did some research and decided to go a different way. They called me twice the first day and I told the second rep to please remove me from the list. I have received several calls each day since then, and now I’m getting emails. They are for-​profit and that’s obviously what’s driving them. GIVE ME YOUR MONEY AND GIVE IT TO ME NOW! Ugh. I may want to do something like this in the near future, but their pushy ways have forever turned me off. Not the way to do business!

I would strongly suggest against going to this school. They are concerned only with making a profit, not the interests of the students. For example, I had the majority of my lower division complete and had a large amount of student loans. I was told I could complete my courses and walk away with a Bachelors. However, with the cost of courses being $ 1,790 a MONTH, neither Financial Aid or Admissions had the due diligence to see if the remainder of my student loans would cover the cost. It did not. I ended up taking out another $ 20,000 in student loans and was not able to finish the degree unless I obtained «other forms of funding.» So, the school got to keep all the $ 20,000 I spent and I did not get a degree.
In addition, I have tried SEVERAL routes to think outside the box with this school and meet them in the middle. To no avail.
Long story short, this school is strictly about profit, not giving out degrees and does NOT care about the students. To sum it up, DO NOT go here, you are better off going to a State University and investing the extra time. Schools like this should not be allowed to be in business as they do not benefit the students. They only benefit the school, if that.
My hunch, this place will be gone in less than 10 years and your degree will not be valid. Colleges cannot operate in a for profit environment and last the long haul.

Worst school ever! Very unorganized. I sent money ($ 195) and expected my refund to be $ 145 minus the application fee of $ 50. I didn’t even GO to the school and they took money out. They’re ripping students off and something needs to be done about this.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR GRAD SCHOOL.
During winter break 2009 I was comparing ERAU, FIT, and Everglades for an online aviation graduate program. I am an FIT alumni.
I couldn’t get in contact with ERAU… but Everglades sure called me on ¹²⁄₂₉ and kept calling.
I payed my $ 50 application fee on 12÷29÷09, and kept getting calls from financial aid immediately after.
So I filled out the paperwork, they accepted me, and enrolled me in a class starting 1÷5÷10. Everything happened SO QUICK… very quick.
On 1÷5÷10 I was able to get in touch with ERAU and determined I wanted to be in their graduate program.
Everglades said I could not drop the online class they had enrolled me in, even though this was the first week. And if I did I would be charged over $ 1,000. This is different than any other college I’ve been to.
Since their classes are 8-​weeks long, I was committed to taking 2 classes for a total of 16 weeks, that’s as soon as I could leave.
When trying to order a transcript from Everglades for ERAU, my account showed a charge for an additional $ 145 application fee dated 12÷29÷09 (same day as the $ 50 application fee). I was NEVER told of this fee. When I tried to get answers I was told the fee was so they could ‘set up my classes’.
Beware… another unconventional fee they charge is an ‘education fee’ of $ 200 per class… at least I was aware of this ridiculous fee.
Everglades is quick to take your money, but not quick to let you go.
Save yourself wasted money and wait to go to ERAU or FIT if you’re trying get info during a winter break like I was. I had a gut feeling things weren’t right when they were constantly calling me after I filled out an application… and I ended up being right.
