After looking forward to returning to Godiva after their being closed for a lovely remodel I had the most Disappointing first visit since the reopening. A true embarrassment of tiny icecream cone filling and a woman with an attitude today. I will be sure never return if she’s working here. FYI. Because of this remodel we missed all the store and Amex offers during month of December. I’m sorry to give a bad review but look at pictures of my icecream.

Teuscher was voted as the world’s best chocolate truffles, but after eating twenty of them in a two week period, I prefer Godiva. To me, their truffles are the best I have ever eaten, and worth the price. The rest of their chocolates are just okay, the plain bars are not good, and not worth four dollars. Dove milk chocolate bars are much better. But these truffles, the milk, the dark, and white, which I don’t even like, are amazing. They are my go-to gift for women.

If Lady Godiva(the historical figure which the company was named after) was alive, she would have had one good heck of a time trying Godiva chocolatier’s goodies. This is a well known Belgium founded chocolatier company who in the recent years has been bought over by a Turkish company. All in all the everyday consumer only needs to know they have many locations all over the world. They sell many of their products online as well. For the south Floridans they have stores in Boca Mall, Sawgrass, Wellington and Palm Beach Gardens Mall. The Wellington location does not serve the ice cream or drinks. I usually go to the sawgrass location on lunch breaks and they are crazy busy but pretty efficient. This location is very nice and clean. Plus the Boca location is not very busy. My absolute favorite is their drinks. They are called traffelatas. They come in variety of flavors. My favorite is the hazelnut chocolate one. Their soft serve ice cream is pretty popular as well and it’s huge. The drinks and the ice cream are all $ 6. If you are a chocolate lover, they have Godiva membership too. The membership is free and keeps you updated on their new products and happenings thru email. It’s pretty nice and has some perks every now and then. If you have never been to a store front of Godiva, go and do not think of calories. Life is short, enjoy it with rich chocolates! ~

Get the soft serve ice cream! The swirl. This is amazing. Don’t bother with the cone. The swirl has a good balance of dark with white chocolate. I think the dark chocolate by itself would be too rich. The white chocolate I a much lighter flavor so the mixture was perfect. Top notch customer service also. The employee was friendly without being overbearing and was extremely polite. Totally worth $ 6

OMG: The Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt chocolate bar is to die for! I bought a large bar on a whim and could not stop eating it. Dark, smoky, sweet, salty — such an addictive combination. Then again, once I get a hold of any of their dark chocolates, I can’t put them down. My only solution is to avoid this place altogether. But would life really be worth living without Godiva chocolate? :)

This is a cute little store in Town Center Mall, next door to Bloomingdales. Just walking in the store, seeing and smelling the chocolates, makes me hungry. Sometimes when I go there the people behind the counter are very friendly. Other times I feel like I’m bothering them if I ask a question. I guess it depends on who’s working. I like that there’s comfortable places to sit in the mall. After shopping it’s nice to sit down and savor a piece of delicious chocolate.

The people working here are pretty attentive… I think they feel obligated to be nice to you since you’re paying so much money for… chocolate. It’s too bad that chocolatiers overcharge you just because of the popularity of their brand– I really doubt that it costs anywhere near $ 30 dollars to make a few bars of chocolate that fill up a fancy-looking box. I had their white chocolate drink once and, honestly, I wasn’t impressed. I guess their chocolate boxes would serve as nice gifts if you’re trying to impress someone a little bit.
