Wanted to like this place but must say that everything we had was terrible. Comparing this place to Table 2011 in Pompano is like comparing Elkhorn Indiana to Paris.

Always enjoy the food. The service is not rushed and price is fair. You may wait a little but it’s worth it

I enjoyed the gyro pita with a side Greek salad. It was good but I have to say the gyro was much saltier than I’ve ever had anywhere. There was not enough of lettuce/tomatoes and tsaziki sauce, but maybe some may think the massive amount of gyro meat makes up for it.

The food is not good. Old folk soft food restaurant. The food was like a frozen dinner that was reheated. The portions are small. The salad was good.

Not good. Everything was undercooked, overcooked, or an odd combo of both. Place is a bit scuzzy as well. But of an old folks’ place which would explain the blandness. Taso’s is much better.

First impressions matter. I came here on a Saturday night with my family, and the place was pretty packed. We made an OpenTable reservation for 7pm, but when we came in, they didn’t have us listed. Most places that use OpenTable have a computer system, but here they just had a piece of paper with a bunch of names on it. Nevertheless, we were seated soon after at a table. A little later, our waiter came over, who I believe was the owner, and began to read the specials off to my family; I happened to be looking up something on my phone at the time. Our waiter stops telling us about the specials, to point out that I wasn’t paying attention, and call me out. Okay listen, I know it is not polite to not be looking at someone when they are talking, but a waiter calling a guest out at a restaurant rubbed me the wrong way from the get go. That’s a big no-no. Right away I was not enjoying my experience, but later he apologized, and I think he might have been saying it in a joking manner, but still, I don’t think it came off the right way. If it was meant to be a joke, it didn’t feel like one to start with. Other then that incident, the service was fine; they may have been a little slow to pick up out check, but that’s it. The food itself was good overall. My dinner came with a Avgolemono Chicken Soup, which was not a huge cup, but had a decent flavor to it; a nice way to start. Our main dishes came almost immediately after we finished our soups and salads. The Chicken Soulvlaki Platter was cooked well, and pretty flavorful; having said that, it was still just pieces of grilled chicken. The potatoes were the best part of the meal; lemony, flavorful, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside; hit it out the park on the potatoes. The other vegetables that came with it on the other-hand were totally bland, and flavorless. The portion size wasn’t huge, but having said that, the price wasn’t bad for what you get. Especially for being in Boca Raton, I would say this is one of the most inexpensive restaurants you’d find in the area. It’s a quaint atmosphere inside, and they still had decorations up from Halloween(we came in the first week of November). It’s also very small and when it gets packed, it can be tough to move around. The clientele is a much older crowd from what I saw. I had to go outside for a moment, and the hallway to get to the door was packed; and I had to get by some old ladies, and they weren’t having it, not moving at all; which is pretty much par for the course in Boca. Overall, if you want Greek food, this might be a decent place to go to. The food is fine, and for the price it’s a good deal. I wasn’t crazy about the service, and the atmosphere is interesting, yet had a mom-and-pop shop charm to it. If you want Greek food, Jimmy The Greek is fine, but don’t expect anything special. Food(B), Pricing(C+), Atmosphere(C+), Service(C+)

I’ve ordered take-out from this place maybe like 6 times, the food is very good, the problem I have is the service. The last time I went, the girl that works the register was sitting on her phone, next to another employee on the seat to the left of the doorway. No welcome when I walked in, no hello, no acknowledgement, after I stood at the register for like 2 minutes, she finally got up and started to give me my food, I ordered a chicken gyro, with all veggies on the side, when I got the food I checked it, and the veggies were on the gyro(I didn’t want the veggies to be all wilted by the time I get the food home), so I let her know, and she pretty much argued with me that I didn’t order it that way, she got an attitude, and then gave the food back to the chef and explained she needed the veggies on the side, I don’t know why this was so hard to understand but the chef seemed lost and she explained it again with an attitude, repeating to him, I didn’t order it that way, but now I want it that way… This girl is there every time I have ever went, seems to hate her job, never smiles, or greets me. So I don’t feel welcomed, and I will not be back. It’s a shame because I really do love the food.

Been here now three times and the food is very good — the lamb shank is excellent as are the traditional Greek dishes. their high quality of service takes away any complaints. Always friendly with smiles, makes on feel just right. Highly recommended.

My favorite divey-Greek place. Avoid the gyro. Get the roasted lamb shank(for dinner). The octopus app is also a family-fave. When they have it, get the bougatza(spelling?). Its an amazingly authentic Greek desert cooked to perfection. The best think about this place is the authentic(divey) décor and the great wait staff(hint, they are all Greek). They will tell you what to order, and they will be right. This is a true family restaurant. Avoid the tourist trap menu items and you’ll love it!

Ducked in after a meeting next door with the Jeweler’s Exchange and Boca Black Box crew to talk digital media and video production and it was a fine time, here’s why: * Fresh and Delicious Lemon Soup * Stuffed Pepper choice of one or two peppuhs * Fresh warm pita basket for the table, complimentary * Chicken Kefetede was delish * Larry bought, score! If this place was closer I’d work my way through the menu, but I’m lucky, I live close the Greek Joint in Hollywood. :-) Cabeza OUT!

Love this restaurant. The food is delicious. The portions are great. However, the experience is great because the staff, family members, are warm and friendly. They make us feel at home when we are in town. This restaurant is on our«must» list whenever we are in Boca. Oh, the baklava is incredible!

I ordered a delivery from this restaurant at 7:30 and accepted the two hour wait time for the food, confirmed the order and paid for it by credit card and then at 9:00 was called and told that I won’t be getting my food because they are closing early. What a gyp, they obviously treat their customers in a unacceptable fashion. Food may be good but not worth it when your treated like crap. Please don’t waste your te on these people.

Plenty of food. Large seating area. Not much décor or ambience. Service is fast and friendly. Not as authentic as I would like. Prices are reasonable. Eaten here a few times and will return. Lots of parking. Family owned and operated. Been around for many years.

I have been eating here for a few years now. My previous review from 2013 was a solid five stars. With a heavy heart, I am updating my review to a three star rating. It is sad when a restaurant you love takes a downturn, especially when the owners and staff are all so genuinely kind. The food used to be so incredible and now I feel that is it just okay. I never ordered anything I didnt like but nothing wows me anymore either. My favorite thing to order is the Avgolemeno(lemon chicken) Soup. This hearty soup is delicious and full of chicken and orzo. Sometimes I pick up a quart on my way home from work. It makes a great work night dinner. And you can get a few bowls out of the quart too. The Tzatziki Sauce is heavy on the garlic and it’s quite good. I love garlic so I have no problem with it. I can make a meal just out of the pita and Tzatziki. The pita bread is always nice and fresh. The small Greek Salad is huge. Lot’s of feta cheese and the traditional toppings are on a bed of fresh iceberg lettuce. If your craving a good Greek Salad, this is your place. The Moussaka is okay but not terribly delicious. The dinner price is $ 14.95 and it comes with either soup or salad and a veggie. The price is fair but I wish the Moussaka had more flavor. The serving was quite large so I had leftovers to take home. For my sides I had the lemon potatoes and peas. The lemon sauce was a bit oily for my taste and the peas were from a can. Nothing memorable. The servers are all friendly and helpful. I usually get take out and they have not messed up an order yet. They make good Chicken Souvlaki too. All the pita sandwiches come with a small side salad. It’s priced right and they have lunch specials during the week. I like supporting local family owned businesses. When I need a greek salad or soup fix, this is where I come. I wish I ordered the salad last night but I didn’t. Until next time…

I like the place although service was slow and disorganized. Very much so. Soups were good — tried two. Lamb chops were ok — cooked beyond the ordered medium rare but good cuts, it seemed. Sautéed onions were room temperature. Tasty but cold. Green beans were well done. Desserts were terrific.

Having read the reviews here on Unilocal, you would expect a great neighborhood Greek restaurant. Too bad, the food was terrible, specifically, the main courses were lousy. We started off with an order of hummus which was accompanied by quite a bit of pita. The hummus was pretty good although I felt it was a little dry. We were able to improve the consistency by adding some olive oil. This appetizer was followed by soups and salads. Salads were nice and fresh and the lentil soup though tasty need quite a bit of pepper to give it some zest. So far things were pretty good. We ordered two items from the daily special and two from the regular menu. Dinner items come with a choice of potatoes or rice; we all had the potatoes. Here’s where things fell apart. The grilled chicken items were way overcooked with very little flavor. The leg of lamb came out gray and had to be returned and substituted for a gyro platter. Presentation and plating — forget about it, the food was thrown onto the plate, yecch. Apparently canned peas is what is considered as vegetables at Jimmy’s. If I ever go back, I’ll bring some frozen vegetables, at least there may be some flavor. Bottom line, after several apologizes, no one even offered up a dessert for the crappy cuisine. Apparently, this place is somewhat popular, as the pace is quite hectic. One lady server who did not speak English would refill the water glasses with lukewarm water with a bandage on her finger. Very disappointed.

Fun place to go behind Dunkin’ Donuts on Glades Rd., Greek salad was good as was the Gyro was also good but my favorite part about it was the waiters. It had a diner atmosphere and pretty crowded for a Saturday lunch.

I had my Greek go-to in Boca but it was immediately replaced by Jimmy the Greek. They treated us like old friends from the minute we walked in the door. We had the Village Salad(horiatiki) with Gyro, Gyro Pita(comes with a generous side salad) and the Small Greek Salad with Chicken Souvlaki. They all came with pita and a side of tzatziki — it was the best tzatziki I’ve ever had. The service was great and the food was delicious. Jimmy the Greek will definitely become a regular in the rotation.

I can’t say enough nice words about this establishment! The servers greet me with a smile whether I have a cup of soup or a side Greek salad. The Greek lemon soup has a thick consistency with a delicious hint of lemon and ample bits of chicken and rice on every spoonful. I recommend the falafel pita. It comes with a generous portion of what is touted as a «side Greek salad» which is plentiful to say the least. One of my favorite places to drop in for a quick bite alone or with a guest.
