Maye Pediatric Dentistry

The office has gotten busier over the past few years and the quality of service has unfortunately gone down. The wait time is not bad; however, the time with the dentist is minimal; less than 2 minutes on average. Considering we pay $ 150 for a visit, I would expect that to include a thorough evaluation of my child. The cleanings are also not overly thorough. Time to find a new dentist.

Dr Maye is the absolute best! He corrected a screwed up root canal that my 8 year old daughter had from a terrible dentist (Dr Steven London– stay far away from him– he’s a fraud!)
Not only did Dr Maye fix the bad work that was done (the prior dentist Dr London was supposed to have saved the tooth by performing a baby root canal but never did the correct procedure instead screwed it up and charged me for it, which ended up causing my daughter to have severe nerve damage and had to have her tooth extracted!)

We have lived all over the country, and Dr. Maye is THE BEST. When your 6 year old gets excited to go to the office for a filling, you know you are going to the right place! From cleanings to fillings… there is no better place. The office staff is awesome, experienced and great with the kids. Dr. Maye is professional and kind, but most importantly… honest and trustworthy. I know my kids are in the best hands when we walk in the door of this office.

Unfortunately I cannot leave a positive review for this office. Went for a cleaning and exam for my 4 year old. Staff was friendly. Office was fun. My son loved it. Dr. Maye was very nice. However — I was told he needed 3 fillings and a baby root canal. And I was told it all needed to be done under general anesthesia (not covered by insurance). With my Humana HMO this would cost $ 1200 and I would need to put my son under.
Needless to say — I went for a second opinion. But before going in for the second opinion I gave Dr. Maye’s office a second chance. I called and asked if they would try nitrous first before general anesthesia. They told me because my son didn’t want to take xrays, he wouldn’t tolerate nitrous and fillings.
I went to another dentist today (dr. Jackie Galvez). She got the X-​rays done no problem and did the fillings under nitrous to the tune of $ 45! Same insurance. Same child! I was shocked. I couldn’t believe the price difference. And as far as the X-​rays go, dr. Jackie’s hygienist did it just fine.
I am sorry it didn’t work out with dr. Maye. I am glad I trusted my instinct to get a second opinion. It’s never a good feeling to have something like General anesthesia pushed on your child without The possibility of exploring other options. I sincerely hope it wasn’t being pushed due to the fact I have an HMO and anesthesia is not covered by insurance. I just hope it was a difference in opinion. In the end I did what was best for my child and had great results someplace else.

I have two kids that are terrified of the dentist. I was so pleased with the staff there at Maye Pediatric dental. From the front desk everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. My 6 year old daughter was so scared she cried and the dental assistant Joanna was awesome with her. I am so happy to have found a dentist I can trust. Thanks for everything you guys rock.

Very, very, very friendly staff. They keep the kids focused and they are very professional.
I always enjoy bringing the kids here and they love it as well… There are no long waiting periods. They give the kids toys when they are finished with their visit. The doctor keeps you well informed on what’s going on and whatever needs to be done. He also doesn’t mind answering any questions.

Dr Maye is a wonderful pediatric dentist who treats my 2 kids. I travel from Margate to his north Boca office because I trust him immensely. His office is impeccable and the kids enjoy playing the video games while there. Also his staff are very sweet especially Cecilia!
