If I could give him zero stars I would. This guy is a scam artist and I think he gets over on people because he looks like a nice old man, but he is not. He had a deal on Angie’s list for $ 150 for three hours of work. I called him and he suggested that he come to my home to look at the projects I needed completed so that he could determine whether or not he was capable of doing them within the three hours. He assured me that he would be able to complete the work within the three hours so we scheduled a time for him to come and I purchased the deal. He was an hour late because he did not go to Home Depot to get the required materials until the morning of, even though he had a full week. Once there he still did not have all the materials and had to borrow them from other contractors on site. He worked extremely slowly spending most of the time sitting in his chair on my patio. After four hours I had to leave because this was now two hours after he was supposed to complete the work and I had an appointment I had to be to, even though he only completed a third of the project. At this time I entered my kitchen to turn the lights off and noticed that he also had damaged my dishwasher while fixing the light in my kitchen. He was not hired to touch the dishwasher. He then had the audacity to demand one hundred dollars extra for his hour of work. This man completed a third of the job damaged the dishwasher was paid in full for the job and still demanded $ 100 on top of what he was already paid. I told him we would mail him a check after I discussed it with my husband and we came to an agreement with him, because I did not think that $ 100 was fair. My husband and him spoke that evening and they agreed to $ 50 for the extra time, even though only the third of the project was done, my husband said that he felt bad for the old man and it was obvious from the conversation that he was desperate for money. The next morning the handyman called my husband four times while he was at work to tell him that he thought about it and he still wanted $ 100 not 50 like they had agreed to. At this point we told him we were not going to pay extra because we needed to hire somebody else to come in and fix the work that he did not done and we were just starting to get a really bad feeling about this business. The handyman hung up the phone mid-conversation and then over the next two weeks proceeded to call us incessantly without leaving voicemails. I finally called him back where he told me he still wanted his $ 100 when I told him that I was not going to give it to him he hung up the phone and call me back and said I still want my hundred dollars when I told him again that I was not going to give it to him and listed the reasons he hung up on me mid-sentence. He seems to call an when he doesn’t get an answer he likes hangs up the phone and then calls back thinking he is going to get a different answer, he may be insane. Please do not let him in your house there are hundreds of other people they can come do work and they will not scam you and they will not spend three hours sitting in a lawnchair on your patio In response to his response. This man creates lies to try and make it look like he was not in the wrong. I have photos of the dishwasher from that morning, that I took to show my husband the completed floors which show it in perfect condition. He was the only person in the kitchen after I took those photos and did work directly next to it and above it. I have shown him the photos and believes they are fake, I’m not quite sure how I would accomplish that. In addition, the dishwasher was 2 years old, i agree it was not brand new but it was not old. Finally, he acts like I am purposefully withholding money owed to him. I had to pay someone 200 dollars to come fix and finish his work and he did not complete what he agreed to. I spent 250 dollars decorating my daughters bathroom to perfection, I hardly am going to go through the headache and hassle caused by this man for 50 dollars, but I also refuse to pay for something that was not done as agreed. I am thankful to live in a gated community because it am certain he would show up on my doorstep if I was not able to keep him out of the community. He calls my husband numerous times a day at work without leaving a message and wonders why he does not receive a phone call in return. I have tried calling him and he literally hangs up the phone on me mid conversation saying he only wants to speak to the husband of the household. It’s completely ridiculous to operate like that; however, if he thinks he can only discuss issues with other men than he will be waiting a long time for a return call as my husband is very busy at work. Finally, I never asked him to come out and look at the project, he offered after I told him I didn’t want to buy the deal if he didn’t think the time was sufficient.
