Whistle Stop Public House

Terrible. Waited for 15 minutes, never saw a server. No one even cares that we walked out. I hope the place that leases the space after they go out of business is better.

We enjoyed Whistle Stop. Good pub food. prices are moderate, and good service! The only negative was that it was so cold when we were there, it was uncomfortable. We will go back again, as it was fun, fast and good!

I came back and tried again. Ordered barbecue ribs and a wrap. It was early evening and there were a few people at the bar. We were the only ones at a table ordering food. The food took a Long time to come out. When it did, the Ribs were very thick, but not in a good way. They were thick and curved. I’m not sure exactly what kind of animal they were from. They were drowned in an overly sweet barbecue sauce. When I managed to slice a rib off (they were tough and chewy) they were luke-​warm in the middle. Really Gross. Worst Ribs I ever had. The Portabella mushroom wrap was O.K. And the fries were better this time. I would stay away from the food here. Unless you’re too drunk to care

I went here one night for dollar beer night and i was passed by a bar tender at least 3 times before finally being noticed but the worst part was that when I was leaving, my bill should have been $ 6 instead it was $ 40 because one of the bar tenders just added someone else’s pickle shots to my tab… I don’t even like pickles. I will not be using a card if I ever decide to go here again

I was in town on business and did a Unilocal scan of the area and saw some good reviews for Whistle Stop.
I went in twice and was impressed both times.
Got the BYOBurger the first time and it was cooked perfect. Got the Steak Philly the second time and it was awesome.
The bartenders, Becca and T, are on point. Never had a lull in service once…
There are huge, high def tv’s surrounded the whole establishment with anything you want on. Great sports bar with a local feel. Highly recommended.

finally found a great neighborhood bar/restaurant…the food is great and made fresh… the 1^st time we went it was taco tuesday and happy hour is all day… we told Kacey that if the food isn’t good we wouldn’t be back… well forget that we’ve been back for $ 5 angus burger/​fries on mondays… that Doug is the best chef… the people are friendly behind the bar and in front… we’re seniors and felt right at home with the rest of the crowd… it was a great find and we tell everyone…

I can’t believe I finally found a sports bar on par with New York’s sports bars! This place is packed with giant flat screens that are amazing quality unlike Duffy’s. The food is great too– try the chicken tender basket and side of tater tots– you will not be sorry! Another great choice is the country chicken sandwich: p

I rarely write negative reviews, but I was just not impressed with this place. It reminded me of a place I would have gone in college for cheap drinks and food. It was dark and fairly dead on a Saturday night. The food was mediocre. The servers seemed to have forgotten about us half way through. Will not rush back.

Great for football Sunday’s! Lots of TV’s for every game, and good food too!

After reading the other reviews, I want to say that this isn’t a dive. The old Whistle Stop was ‘dive-​ier’ than this one. What this is, is a local place with good food & a personal touch.
If you like places like Hooters, Tilted Kilt or other chains, don’t come here. If you like good food & a welcoming atmosphere in a family-​run business, then this is the place for you.

I love this place. I tell everybody about it.
Would you like a good, fairly clean, and cheap dive-​y bar that isn’t packed full of people or pumping out really loud bad music? This is the place.
Whenever we go, there are people there, but it’s not packed. It’s easy to get service, and the staff will pay attention and get you a drink quickly. We’ve never had bad service in the few times we have been.
They have a decent variety of beers and are all well priced. Well drinks are amazingly cheap, especially for the area, and they don’t lack in alcohol. Don’t come here for a frou-​frou cocktail made with handmade syrups and stuff, but also know their liquor drinks are tasty and pack a punch. I got a pint glass full of pretty damn delicious made-​with-​sour-​mix margarita last time, and I couldn’t have loved it more. It was great for the low price (go down the street a bit and you’ll get basically the same thing in a teeny glass for 15 because the clientele changes.)
Here’s where the surprise came. The food is actually good. We were a little weary when a neighbor mentioned they didn’t love the food, but I just had to break down and order that adult grilled cheese. I have to tell you, it is in my top 5 grilled cheeses ever, and I wasn’t drunk that night, I promise you.
Gooey cheese? Check. Well grilled and buttered bread, not too soft, and not so crispy it cuts my mouth? Check. Amazing, crispy bacon (and a lot of it) — Check. A fun addition? That bacon jam is super yummy. I love bacon jam, and the sweetness is perfect here. My husband wasn’t in love with the sweetness, but I found it perfect. If you aren’t a huge fan of sweet, I would suggest asking if they can go light on it, but still get it on there!
A great bar all around. It definitely helps that I can walk here ;)

OMG the food here is amazing. Whether you are coming with the family or late night, don’t hesitate to stop here. Have been here a few times already and everything from the adult grilled cheese to the Reuben have been excellent. They even make their own corned beef which is better than any deli in town.
Prices are very reasonable.

Formerly Cutters. basically the same joint, with a different menu. Food was good, if a little slow for lunch. I had the shrimp Po boy, which was tasty and close to an authentic po-​boy (needed french bread and shredded lettuce instead of leaf, but it was still executed well). They removed the stage in the corner, so hopefully this will not turn into another FAU dominated place, as all of the food I saw look good and is reasonably priced.

To mirror what the other reviews have said, the food is the highlight of the new Whistle Stop. The Adult Grilled Cheese was perfection. Great work on keeping the drinks classy and original, but not overpriced! Owners and staff were excellent, and I look forward to what they do to keep this place as my new favorite watering hole.

Awesome place! Great spot in Boca to grab a beer and wings. The food is off the planet. This will definitely be my new go to place!

Finally, a reasonably priced neighborhood restaurant and bar in Boca. The food and service is excellent. You have to try the wings, they are some of the best that I’ve had. Also, great draft beer selection.
