Awesome little out of the way place! A southern «meat & three» with lots of great veggies. The people who work there are warm & friendly and the food was great.
I had turkey and gravy over mashed potatoes with pinto beans and green beans — so much food and all of it good. My husband had the fried chicken with potatoes & gravy, fried okra and sweet potato casserole. I was nibbling off of his plate, too — all of it was good except the okra could have been a little warmer. Also the cornbread was rather dry — but that may be a geographical difference from my «northern roots».
Will definitely be back — but only when I’m really hungry!

This place is just plain AWESOME! Everything from the food to the staff to the atmosphere is just perfect. If you are looking for a true southern home-​cooked meal in the Spartanburg area, THIS is your place. There just aren’t enough words to express how delicious this place is.

This place is awesome!!! Good food, clean facility and great prices! Most of all, CJ is the most personable business owner I have ever encountered!!! The Mac n cheese is the best this side of the Mississippi! I absolutely love and look forward to coming back anytime I am in the Greater Spartanburg area!!!

I just love this place, the food is sinfully great… Even my 83 yr old mom loves this place… the only place she ever wants to go for her bday… every time I have fam in town they always want to go to CJ’S … Oh an I love how the owner always comes over to chat with ya… I just wish they were open on weekends…

Country cooking at its best in a small out of the way place. In fact, it’s so out of the way, it probably isn’t the first place you think of but it should be. Especially the fried chicken. The food is wonderful. It’s a cafeteria-​style restaurant. Most of the time you have to get up and refill your own tea or water. Check the hours before going. They just changed them.

How can I explain how good Miss CJ’s food is? Can I give it 50 stars? The catfish is to die for! I just wish I could get more than one type of meat because it is so good! I’ve been taking the kids there for over 6 years! Always enjoy talking with Miss CJ and her staff! So personable and always remember what their regulars like.

Lunch. Made from scratch country food. I’ve eaten here a couple of times. It is in a former country store. Nothing fancy… plain tables. Lots of fresh vegetables.
