It’s Fatz, I’ve been a number of times and I know what to expect. It wasn’t disappointing, it was just the same. That’s why I don’t go back every week. I give the Boiling Springs location extra points(but alas, no extra stars) for the graffiti carved into the molding in the men’s rest room. I don’t know who Mike is but someone thinks he needs to be mentioned on the men’s room wall. That’s putting it mildly. I might could understand this if I were at a jail house restroom, at least they would have sense enough to remove it. I’ve been to places where you leave a dollar with your name on it, I guess at this Fatz location you leave grade school graffiti on the men’s restroom wall. Not with a marker but carved into the wood molding with a knife, this would take some time which could suggest who the culprits may be. Hey Fatz, I give you this bit of info for free. You can thank me later! All I had to do was go to the restroom to see it, it really wasn’t that difficult.

This one is another tough one for me. This could easily be 4 stars but was I am giving it 3 for service reasons. I loved the atmosphere and feel of this place. The food was good and came out pretty quickly. I loved the bread balls(for lack of a better term). They were warm and came with Cinnamon Butter. The Pot Roast pie was mainly mashed potatoes and pot roast strips. I saw no evidence of any other vegetables. Our server was professional but not very warm. Maybe she was not having a good day. She was pretty abrupt serving our food, kind of a toss down. I won’t name her just because I want to give benefit of the doubt. She was quick with my refill however I was drinking Pepsi and she refilled it with Dr. Pepper. I like both however a server should remember drink orders. Finally, I wanted to try the deep dish chocolate chip cookie but never really got the chance. The server brought the check without asking if there was anything else we would like. A server should always ask and maybe she was trying to free up table space because a small crowd was at the door as we left. I will come back if my travels bring me back this way, I’m just disappointed not having that dessert!

Welp. Boiling Springs usually has great customer service. I’ve eaten here a time or two, but after this afternoon, I’ll never darken this doorstep again. I waited well over 6 minutes for someone to even take my order. This after being ignored by 3 workers while I stood at the podium by the register. Never even acknowledged. I had to walk towards the kitchen and run one worker down, who was baffled at the question of who was taking the carry-out orders. Get my food with NO plastic ware,(or thank you/invitation back). My potato soup? A few pieces of bacon FAT and a few shreds of cheese. My chicken wasn’t even hot. Awful experience.

We were visiting South Carolina from Delaware and wanted a good place to eat with the kids. Seen this restaurant on Unilocal and thought we would give its try. The food was amazing… according to my 7 year old and the service, from Hannah was great!!! The portions are really good and we had plenty to bring back to the hotel! Would highly recommend this place in a heartbeat! Yummm yummmmm

Rough experience. My husband ordered the ultimate chef salad and when it came to the table it looked nothing like the menu description. We flagged down the waitress and she told us the menu changed and that he must not have had the new insert in his menu. He waitress kindly brought us the menu insert to show us the menu had changed. However the salad that was brought to him was not the salad described on the new menu either. His salad had lettuce, chunks of ham, and tomatoes even though he ordered his with no tomatoes. So what he received was literally nothing that was on the menu or anything he ordered. The waitress said she would fix it — and apparently fixing it brings bringing tiny cups of all the missing toppings and letting him dig out the tomatoes. I mean seriously, is it really that hard to just remake a salad properly?! So we were totally over the whole dinner. The service was crap and his salad looked like something I chopped up in the kitchen when you are trying to make a meal on a week you didn’t go to the grocery store. To put icing on the cake, when the waitress brought the bill she told us «actually the salad was made correctly but it was suppose to go to another table.» No, it was made wrong because if it isn’t the meal he ordered it is a wrong order at this table. I do feel bad for the poor soul who ordered the miserable salad my husband received because I imagine they were in some part of the restaurant picking out all the toppings because remaking a salad is out of the realm of possibilities at Fatz. Also during this visit our table was visited by an older lady wearing a red shirt who seemed to be somewhat in charge and said the salad would be remade. She to see the improv salad bar the waitress had created and my husband in the midst of picking out the tomatoes and she felt like the matter had been handled appropriately which explains why the wait staff doesn’t care, because I am guessing management doesn’t either.

We had heard of Fatz when we moved to the area and decided to give them a try. Very nice appearing restaurant. We were greeted at the door and seated promptly. Our waitress seemed a bit distracted, but she came back to check on us a couple of times and seemed friendlier each time, so maybe she was just rushed. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and I had the Calabash Chicken wrap. Both were very good! They came with fries and these were fresh, hot & tasty. It’s a bit more expensive than we normally spend on lunch; each entrée was $ 9 or $ 10, but we got a very good lunch.

Fatz Café of Boiling Springs has went way downhill. My mother and I just attempted to eat lunch there. She ordered the calabash chicken with green beans and I ordered the salmon ceasar salad. Her chicken was too spicy for her to eat and her green beans were shriveled, cold and burnt(the waitress noted the black green beans we had separated on the plate). We sent this back and my mom didn’t order anything else. My salmon was dry, rubbery, and way overcooked. It was also way overpriced. This place used to be much better but we overheard a waitress telling someone that they have a lot of turnover because the management is hard to work with so that may explain why it has went downhill so quickly.

They brought in a new owner/operator, Munday, and remodeled the restaurant. Now, this is a great place to eat. The food and the service are really good. Tasty ribs — get the Carolina Gold sauce! Amazing poppy seed rolls.

Excellent meal at a great price. The poppyseed rolls are very good. The ribs and steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly as ordered. Immediately greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Our server, Sarah, was fantastic.

Ok not like most restaurants. the rolls are amazing Service is great. The calabash chicken was fried to perfection. Same class of restaurant as Applebee’s but for the price, this place is a much better value.

A few Months ago my husband, kids and myself ate here. The waitress was amazing. The food was ok but the waitress did everything she could to fix it! When I tried to pay the bill my card would not go through. I tried showing them I had money in the bank and would go get cash. The Manger explained it was probably the machine because they had the problem earlier and told me it was on the house! Amazing. We have ate there several times and now choose fatz instead of applebee’s just because of the customer service is absolutely amazing!

FATZ Café… where do I begin? I have not eaten at this particular FATZ in years… must say it still holds up. Everyone who’s eaten there knows about its«Calabash Chicken» and free, addicting rolls! During my last dine here(11÷7÷2014), I had an amazing waitress named«Chloe». Very attentive, extremely apologetic and forgiving. Service speed was average. It was Friday, so what else would I expect? But who can’t forget the free rolls! Still yummy! As always, with every FATZ trip I’ve made, I went for the Calabash Chicken with its unique breading, dipped them in honey mustard. Pretty much tastes like heaven! For an appetizer, we had the cheese fries… these were just okay. The fries themselves aren’t really that great. They’re certainly edible, but they’re a bit too potatoey for my likings. I also had a salad that was pretty decent, but no real remarks on the salad. :\ You really don’t need an appetizer here at FATZ. The rolls are plentiful! If you have the appetizer and the entrée, be prepared to feel like complete crap with a headache. :P From a Spartanburg local’s perspective, FATZ is worth trying at least a few times before you die!

My waitress/bartender made it quite obvious she did not want to serve us. I ordered calabash chicken, side salad, and fries. My salad dressing tasted funny, so I asked her to bring me another– she took a while and proceeded to tell me it is all the same. Food was okay did not wow me.

I had an amazing meal! The calabash chicken was unreal! I am a business traveler from out of town and Kevin the taller gentleman with the glasses and tattoo on his arm showed nothing but the best hospitality a guest could ask for! Someone promote this guy! Great recommendation and service! — Keegan

Service was like we were eating at a friends house and the food was incredible. I strongly recommend anything with Calabash chicken. I had a calabash chicken BLT. It came on Texas toast and was heavenly. They brought us a free apple cobbler sample since we were from out of town… if by some strange act of god you have room left for dessert… That was amazing too!

Stopped in here on a road trip from Texas. It’s a typical American grill type of restaurant. The menu has a wide selection burgers, steaks, fried chicken tenders(which they are apparently famous for), and seafood. I had grilled shrimp and vegetable skewers. The shrimp were adequate size(not huge but not tiny) and cooked well. Overall a good stop while traveling.
