Is it the best library in the history of the world? No. But it does have the friendliest and most helpful reference librarians who specialize in a vast array of topics. The first floor has the check-out and circulation desks, printers & computer stations for use, e-catalogs, plus some open meeting areas. There is also a Starbucks connected to the main level which is a great place to grab a cup of coffee or meet up with study partners. My one big complaint about the library has to do with quiet space. Dedicated study carrels are available first come, first served on the first day of the semester and they are promptly gone the first day of the semester. The floors that are supposed to be «quiet» floors are not really that quiet(I’ve often heard very loud talking and laughing on the third floor, which is one of the quietest ones). And the enclosed rooms that are also first come, first served are always taken by individuals or groups. I wish there were more quiet places in the library to study. However, there *are* noise-canceling headsets available on the first floor if you want to study in peace. This library also checks out electronics like iPads and laptop computers. Plus, it has one of the prettiest views of the river(great to rest your eyes and give you a sense of calm during finals week) if you grab a desk on that side of the building.

great library! have used it many times this semester! Want quiet… definitely go to the 4th floor quiet study area/room. Its the best to get away from the noisy students who know they SHOULDNT be on the 4th floor, but they are and they are loud! there were a few nights I was there where there were some middle eastern/muslim people who were doing their prays or something… and honestly? in the freakin library??? NO! That is not cool! I would have gone down to complain, but I have my laptop, my camera, backpack,…I have to pack all of that up because they say that people were stealing items that were left while people went to the bathroom or whatever… so, naturally Im not going to leave ANY of my personal items… So basically, you may hear some muslims praying or just other students who are flat out rude and don’t care about others who are trying to focus. They are kids tho, those ones… and thats to be expected I guess? Its the library to go to though. You really will get you stuff done. The public library up the street… children. Enough said haha! :) What I said above, just take that as one or two incidents, mainly with the muslim people, don’t see it as an everyday thing, because every experience I have there is usually a fantastic one! :)

The Albertson’s Library is one of my favorite places to be on Boise State University’s campus. It is a fabulous place for students to study, or even *gasp* socialize! The first two floors are dedicated to people who want to use computers, talk with librarians, browse special collections, or work on a group project, so gab gab gab away! The 3rd and 4th floors have study rooms that can be used for groupwork, as well as have open spaces that are known as silent zones for those students who are wishing to have a more tranquil study experience. The first two floors bustle with students, whereas the second two floors are more calm, simply lined with hundreds of thousands of books for study. The library has great amenities for BSU students, such as renting out books(with no late fees), renting out computers, headsets, tablets and a charging station. It is also lined with computers on the first floor for student use. Wifi is free to everyone! And… of course no one can forget the Starbucks, one of the most popular places on campus, right inside the library. This is definitely a hotspot that offers the best of both worlds: a social aspect and a silent abode. But beware: sometimes the occasional Hobo sneaks in for a nap… in that case they are promptly escorted.
