I am visiting Boise for a short time and needed a haircut. I get a pretty traditional barbershop high fade and searched around for places that had a traditional barbershop vibe on Unilocal and this place came up. I was a bit hesitant since it did not have as many reviews as some of the other local places, but gave this place a chance. You have the option of walking in or making an appointment. I made an appointment and am glad I did because availability of the barbers is random and I wanted to get in and get out. The shop is located below ground and when you walk in you’re greeted by alternative/punk/ska tunes on the sound system and a legitimate barbershop décor. Place is clean and I was immediately greeted by the staff and by Chris, my barber. Chris was a super down-to-earth guy who kept me engage throughout the entire cut. I talked to him about what I was looking for and showed him a couple of pictures to make sure we were on the same page and went from there. Chris took his time and was very attentive to detail as he cut my hair. He was receptive when I asked him to fix a couple of things and he was very helpful in offering suggestions to how best to style my new cut. This place is a no-nonsense type of barbershop with the occasional cursing, scantily clad women on calendars(which I did not care for, and may not be appropriate for younger customers) and uncensored music. This place definitely caters toward a younger crowd, but does not exclude other age groups. Haircuts are $ 20, with a neck shave thrown in. Unfortunately, there is only street parking available outside and it can be limited at times. If you come on the weekends, parking is free. This place is dope. You should get your hair cut here.

Chris took my husband in as a walk-in. We are new to the area and so was going on a recommendation from another barber who was unable to accommodate us with his schedule. My husband received the best haircut he has had that I can remember. A cool location, in a great part of town! He will be returning as he said«he’s found his new barber!

Great place for a cut! When i was on the road more Chris gave me a trim up every 2 – 3 weeks and always treats me like family. Awesome décor and music selection. This is a men’s barber with a hot shave and beard options that are hard to find usually. I have always made an appointment and although the it’s not crowded these someone in he chair before I get my turn and some waiting when I done. … That’s a good sign! Thanks for keeping me neat and tidy. I will be back when I return again to Boise !

The EXPERIENCE and ambiance of this Gentleman’s Barbershop is unparalleled or unrivaled in Boise. To find someone and/or a space to provide a proper cut is hard enough to find but add in that the barber uses a straight razor to attend to even the smallest of details and you have a fantastic cut, shave, and trim. The space is decorated like an authentic barbershop used to be and reminds me of a 1915 – 1920’s look with fantastic eclectic artwork adorning the space with easy listing music and good conversation from the lead barber Chris. The prices are affordable, and I walked out of there paying $ 10-$ 15 for my haircut with the tip included. Its really amazing because its about 25% and cheaper cost wise than most barbershops around. I’ve met some fantastic people that were waiting for a haircut while I was there and it gets even better when you can pass the time with great conversation with any of the barbers there. At Barbiere DeVino its more than a haircut its an experience and with the barbers that work there and its more like getting a haircut by a good friend than one of your more run of the mill barber locations. It truly is something from the past where quality service, professionalism, and atmosphere make that place so special. This will be my new barber hands down and I look forward to getting my haircut at this fine establishment. I support small business and it doesn’t get any better than a barber who is a small business owner that can send it right back back into the local economy. I support Boise, Small Business Owners, and Great quality of service should be rewarded. I will support Barbiere DeVino because I have yet to find anything similar outside of NYC itself; and the experience warrants me to make this part of my new routine and as my new barbershop. Chris you do wonderful work, and I’ll see you in 2 weeks! Your bringing back how a barbershop should be and reminds me of the good ol’ days and I’m glad to see an authentic barbershop in Old Boise where it properly belongs.

First time at Barbiere DeVino and am very happy I stopped by. This is a man’s classic style barbershop that focuses on providing a high quality, old school experience for men. Chris, the barber, provided a haircut along with a beard trim. Very high quality, took his time, and worked with me to provide the type of style that I wanted. By far the best barber experience I have had in Boise. Pros: * The most legitimate men’s oriented classic barber shop in Boise * Chris is highly skilled and works with his clients to provide a high quality experience * good prices * Great art, music, and selection of books and magazines. You feel like you’re in a man’s barbershop(in a good way). * Locally owned business that focuses on the experience rather than just providing a cheap, quick haircut. Negatives: * Not the largest establishment around(online booking highly recommended) but walk-ins are welcomed. * Currently lacks men’s grooming products for sale, such as mustache waxes and beard oils. However, Chris was able to provide some samples(which were really good) and did mention that he will be getting a stock of products in the near future. If you want that old school classic men’s barber that focuses on the experience but with a cool rock vibe, look no further. I do recommend giving Barbiere DeVino a try.
