My husband suffered a work related injury in September. The company handling his claim sent him to Dr. Rodde Cox for an Independent Medical Evaluation. My husband asked me to go with him. We were told to arrive at 0930 to complete some paperwork. We were a bit early, but that’s just as well as the paperwork is a bit involved, and it took my husband a bit of time to complete some of it. The office is in a medical building across Curtis from St. Alphonsus. Suite 202 is kind of small, but suits it’s purpose. We’ve been in and out of a lot of doctor’s offices since September– this one is warmly decorated and nicely appointed. We were refreshingly surprised to fine a male receptionist at the desk. It’s just not something you see a lot of. We were taken back to an exam room just after 10am. The assistant taking my husband’s vitals was personable and kind. Dr. Cox is the same way. He obviously knows his stuff, and he does a great job of establishing a comfortable pace for the exam/interview. An IME requires the patient to recount EVERYTHING from the accident that caused the injury up to the last visit with the most recent treating physician. We left with my husband feeling comfortable about his encounter with Dr. Cox. If not for the fact that visiting him for an IME does NOT establish a doctor/patient relationship with him, I know my husband would choose to see him again, if the need arose.
