I love sandwiches; good sandwiches made from fresh ingredients, tasty bread, and full of flavor. That’s exactly what I found here at Deli George. The ambience is deli, the aromas are deli, and the sandwiches are deli heaven! My fiancé and I split the Chicken Cheddar Bacon Ranch and it was plenty for the two of us and packed with flavor. How anyone could eat at the overpriced and over-processed chains this gem hides behind is beyond me, especially when there is a little piece of deli heaven just footsteps away. And the people are the nicest, the service friendly and attentive, and their courtesy made me feel right at home. Now I’m sure their busy hours may feel a bit more rushed, but dropping in around 3 worked great for us. We will be back. I’m going to try everything on their menu; especially after discovering they smoke their own pastrami. I can already feel my waistline expanding and I just don’t care. I will be back to this deli again and again.

I recently discovered Deli George on lunch with a friend. No better Ruben Sandwich in the valley! The sandwiches are made while you wait which ensures a fresh meal each time you visit. The atmosphere is quaint, the staff friendly. This is my new go-to sandwich shop. Just down the road from Boise State!

Not a deli as there is no meat or cheese for sale, but sandwich was very tasty, just a bit small for the $ 9.30 cost. Had to ask for a pickle. But friendly and clean service!

Do yourself a favor and order anything on the menu. No wrong choices to be made here. Be sure to bring a friend so you can split the massive sandwiches. Service is wonderful as well.

Sandwiches are great, atmosphere is great the only thing I can complain about is the price. A little high but I guess the sand which quality and friendly employees make it worth it.

I hate to rate so low. George’s used to be amazing. I chose it for my National Sandwich Day 2015 lunch. My «Georgioso» sandwich was merely adequate, and had it cost around $ 5 – 7, it might have been a 5-star item. But it was $ 12. TWELVEDOLLARS. No pickle, no chips, not even more than an average quantity of fillings. And since it was National Sandwich Day, you might assume they’d mention it, or have a sign up, or acknowledge the day even remotely? Nope. DISAPPOINTING. Will probably not bother with them again.

super tasty! excellent bread! the focaccia is seasoned to perfection. there’s a chick-fil-a and Carl’s junior right next door. but with George right here im wondering why you would ever choose one of them over George. I have plans to eat everything on the menu before I die.

Quality, fresh ingredients on fresh baked bread. Impressive sandwich, perfect blend of ingredients and seasoning. I also had a glass bottle of real Coca Cola, made in Mexico with real sugar in it. Salt and vinegar chips and well made red potato salad. Perfect lunch! Great customer service. Friendly staff. I will be back!

1. Sandwiches are expensive 2. Too much mayo 3. Service is slow and chaotic 4. Space is small, people in line are practically standing on top of you 5. George is always berating employees in front of everyone

I’m not much of a sandwich person, but when I want a SANDWICH, I go to Deli George. I put sandwich in ALLCAPS because their portions AREVERYBIG! I like that Deli George is different than the average shop. They used to be famous for their upside down sign, but I think it was confusing people so they turned it rightside-up, which to me, will always be upside down :) Deli George is a favorite spot of me and my husband! Food: The sandwiches and sides are excellent. They’re all prepared right before you and fresh daily. My favorite sandwich is the chicken bacon avocado. It’s so heavenly and HUGE. The ranch that’s on it seals the deal of the most delicious sandwich I’ve ever had in Boise. I am sure it gave me a 5-month food belly and I was not disappointed in the slightest! Drinks: Their soda dispenser is self-serve, which is nice! Atmosphere: It’s always busy at lunch. I’ve never been any other time. If there’s a wait, it’s worth it. The photos hung on the wall around the eating area are filled with history. You won’t be bored with the people watching and photo-reading. It’s so fun and lively in there. Service: What I love is that the owner and head chef, George(duh), is ALWAYS behind the counter. Not only does he craft the food himself, with the help of his excellent staff, but he checks on you mid-meal to see how you’re enjoying it. I’ve also seen him personally deliver to-go orders. He’s just a rockstar and I may even like the service there more than the sandwiches. And this is my favorite sandwich shop! Happy Hour Offerings: n/a

Not sure why this place is not rated five stars. I just ate the best Italian style(delicioso on focaccia) sandwich I have ever had. Would definitely recommend this deli. First time here from out of town and will be back when I return.

Finally checked out Deli George and I was not disappointed! So yummy! ! Great lunch spot, very good sandwiches. They use local bread and fresh, high quality ingredients. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado because well, you can’t ever go wrong with that. They got bonus points for serving it on wheat bread too! They were very generous with the avocado and it was so tasty. I had to get a cookie as advised by others and, OMGTHEBESTCOOKIE I’VEEVERTASTED. I keep thinking about it. Gooey coconut, chocolate chip, macadamia deliciousness. Very busy at lunch, next time I will order online to avoid the long lines as their signs say. They don’t have a ton of room to sit inside as well, we barely got a table. Oh well, so worth it. I will be trying the homemade potato salad next time too!

This is my first time eating here. The turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich was delicious. The place has a «home like» atmosphere. This place must hire family orientated people because they are friendly and very helpful with your meal and you as a consumer. A friendly gentleman approached us at the table and asked how our meal was and I told him it was a delicious meal. He introduced himself as «George.» I said that’s cool because the place is called Deli George. He said it’s because I named it after me. How many times has an owner of any place come and visit the consumers? As he left, I noticed him interacting with other consumers and he knew them«all» on a first name basis. That is customer service! I have never met Mr. Bell(Taco), Mr. McDonalds, or Ms. Wendy’s. I am still and will always support the small business. Great job George and fellow employees!

I’m in biotech sales and used Deli George for a lunch meeting. I try to use local businesses, instead of chains, whenever possible. Not that I want everyone to call them at the last second; they were able to help me without much notice. I ordered sandwiches, salad and cookies for 20 people. Chips and drinks came with my order as well. The sandwiches were not ordinary traditional deli fare. They were really really good. I grabbed one out of the variety that was on an herbed foccacia, and had some peppers. The bread was worth the carby calories. The salad was fresh with just enough personality to be interesting but not too fussy to turn pickier people off. The cookies were off the hook. I wouldn’t normally give five stars for deli food but the friendly and helpful staff that made my delivery happen earned that extra start. I haven’t been to the physical location but recommend these guys for a staff meeting or a rep lunch.

I love this place. I went in today with a friend. We had a kinda confusing order because we were going to split a sandwich and I couldn’t do cheese, however the staff worked very hard to help us. We had a roast beef sandwich with sauerkraut. It was absolutely delicious and came out fast. The staff is very friendly and hard working. The deli is spotless and they had a smoker going and you could smell the delicious meat long before coming in. Reminds me of a place I went to on the east coast! I will be going back again and again!

Wandered in here thinking they might have breakfast type options with eggs — they don’t. My bad, the place opens at 10am, so what was I expecting? It was snowing so I wanted something warm, and that something turned out to be the Boise cheese steak, which was a solid ‘B’ grade. I liked this place, everyone was SUPER nice and the service was exceptional. It is hidden, but worth finding, I enjoyed my visit. The interior decoration is eclectic, and something to see. I’m also a fan of the quirky cups you are given when you dine in, it adds to the character.

not bad, not amazing. It is close to the marriott courtyard. It is very popular with the people of boise. You enter through the door facing the marriot, you pop into line, bring your glasses or know what you want cause the menu is over the registers and you are to the side. The staff is friendly and helpful. I went with a salad, which was apparently an error — it was meh, the«extra stuff» was only minimal and not as much as i would have hoped. Everyone seems to love the steak sandwich — so maybe i just need to only eat things like that there! It is only open for breakfast and lunch, which is a bummer, since i’m only at the hotel usually for the dinner hour.
