Great neighborhood bar. They just put in a credit card machine so the days of cash only are over. Delicious drinks and open pool tables, pinball, and shuffleboard. It all comes together here. Don’t forget the jukebox, put some tunes in and let the good times roll.

The WORST bar I have ever been to. The lady was so rude it was unreal. Once we arrived she let us know that it is a cash only bar(which is kind of odd this day and age) anyways she told us to go across the street. ok fine. My boyfriend asked her if she was the owner and she said no, and why did he want to know, he said he wanted to tell the owner it might be a good idea to get a ATM for their customers. She said«no we dont have to get one, I dont want a paper trail, no paper trails»(which if she isn’t the owner then why does she care about paper trails). So we went along our business 2am rolls around and she says the bar is closing(did not offer a last call) and when people around us tried getting drinks right before that she ignored the bar and kept going in the back, so as we were finishing our drinks she came and tried taking a beer away from our friend who was just sitting there trying to finish his beer, he asked her if he could please finish his drink real quick. And she stood there waiting(like right over him, it was weird) then she goes to get other peoples drinks and then starts screaming«get the f-word out of here, everyone get the f-word out!» As we were leaving I said ‘you dont have to talk to us like that we are leaving” and then she looked at me then screamed again«get the f-word out of here go, get out» The point of the story is she was so rude from the start, there is no reason to be mean to their customers like that. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!

The Fireside Inn is a friendly neighborhood bar just off of State Street. It can be easily missed due to the brightly colored Shell station across the street from it. We decided to give it a try on a Saturday night, and we were not disappointed. Although the fire itself no longer burns(due to insurance issues, and the fact that drunk people simply don’t mix well with open flames we were told) it’s still a great place to spend an evening getting hammered and playing one of their many bar games. They have pool, shuffle board, foozball, darts, and several pinball machines to keep you amused while drinking Pyramid Snowcap, or a $ 6 pitcher of Pabst if that’s what you prefer. The bartender was friendly and even waved to us as we left the bar. Good stuff. 5 stars when they stop allowing smoking in the bar.
