George’s Cycles

I had a wonderful experience at Georges over the course of two days! I have been looking for a new road bike while my tax return burned a hole in my pocket. I kind of thought I knew what I wanted/​needed but after speaking with the staff there I gained a much better understanding of the best bike for me. After narrowing down my choices, I left with the plan to return the next day to make my purchase. I came back the following day ready to buy the bike I looked at yesterday but the employee who worked with me yesterday brought out another bike for me to look at. The frame was a little bit bigger and a better fit, plus the braking system was better suited towards my needs. I’m nobody special –but the fact that someone thought about me and the «perfect bike» after I left the day before really surprised me. Most businesses don’t take the time to necessarily individualize out experiences with them. My experience at George’s was absolutely superb. I have a brand new bicycle and I am in love :-) Their new location on 3^rd street is so nice and so big. Parking seems a bit scarce, but I was able to snag a spot each time.

I would say the only thing about this place is that their price is higher than most shops. Other than that, GREAT customer service! Great selection of bikes, accessories, and clothing! I came in with a flat tire. The store was well staffed with very willing, friendly, and knowledgeable folks. I’m leaving with a cute little helmet and a brand new basket! :) Very happy with the experience!

I am reviewing the service department only.
I had a damaged shock that had to go back to Fox to be fixed. The service counter guy (can’t remember his name but he had a very long beard) said that Fox was busy and it would take 2 weeks to get my shock back from Fox. OK, I’m bummed but this sounded reasonable.
George’s ships the shock to Fox on Monday.
Two weeks later, I call George’s for a status and the service person states that the shock will not ship «this «week but would ship back to George’s «next week.»
One week later, George’s calls me and says the shock did not ship «this» week, again but for sure is shipping next week.
Next week rolled around and George’s calls me and says that the shock didn’t ship but for sure was shipping THIS week. No call’s this week about the status so I call today, the 13^th and I am told the shock is not anywhere at Georges and after calling Fox, my shock is STILL at Fox while others sent after mine have been returned.
I am now without my bike for more than a month and it appears it will be much longer.
I am especially disappointed because 1) this fix is taking forever with no reasonable explanation 2) George’s people are either lying to me or they are clueless, it can’t be anything else and 3) George’s was my Go To bike shop.
But not any more. I will never take a bike here for service again.

Great customer service and will never make you feel «dumb» when asking questions. They are locally run and everyone there rides which makes for a great atmosphere. After my first experience I went back and bought my bike their. Highly recommended for any level biker!

No matter what block they are on, they are always wonderful! George’s has moved from their old location on Fort Street to their new one on 3^rd St. Hard to believe that was an old run down building prior to the Bike Shoppe being there! It is gorgeous!
Very clean, neat, friendly and always fun! I was in to find a new bike light and new batteries and three people helped me. This is how they have always been and I hope this is how they will always be! Local and Friendly and Fair! The three F’s even though local begins with an L… The LFF!
If you need help with any biking needs, pop into the NEW location and have your go! I love having a bike team that I can rely on to tell me the truth in what I need and I know I am not being ripped off.
I go no where else!
